june visit

It will be busy, but there's really not a time DL isn't busy anymore. I've, honestly, gone at that time for the last several years and find it nice because I hit the parks early and back to the room by lunch (little ones take a nap, then pool for the rest of the day). Because everyone is staying at the parks until midnight - 1 AM, a 7 AM MM is practically dead. We hardly ever go into the park at night (occasionally for a night show), so we're all rested and ready to go that early. I've walked into the park with no wait on some mornings during summer.

Check the schedule for Grad Nights to make sure your prospective trip dates either don't include too many of them or don't include any of them, depending on your plans.

It is a busy time...and I have noticed an interesting trend peak season...weekends are often now better than weekdays counter to conventional wisdom. Due in part to everyone thinking the weekend will be busy so they hit weekdays and part due to different levels of AM blackout sin peak weekends.

thinking of going mid-late june. is this a bad time to go that i should reconsider

We always go the last weekend in June (2016, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2008), usually Thursday - Saturday. Typically that Friday and Saturday are the first days of SoCal AP blackouts, grad nights are over, the parks are operating full hours, and all refurbs are back up. I have not checked the 2018 calendar to verify that yet.
