June v. July?

Is there a tremendous difference?

We have generally avoided high season but this year events conspired to put our trip date in June. NOW we've got an opportunity for one of the kids that's too good to pass up... but we'd have to move our trip to July.

Will it be much worse, crowdwise?

With regard to the crowds, I think it's six of one, half dozen of the other. Any difference is pretty negligible.

Weather however, is another story...since we have June Gloom, June is a lot more pleasant and not nearly as hot as July can be.

Funny, I think July is BETTER because you don't have "June Gloom". :rotfl:

July can be warm, but never humid, it doesn't bother me. I don't like such cold mornings in June. I prefer July over June because the Socal APs are blocked. (Those last days of before they are blocked can be nuts). You also have some Grad Nights in June (but I haven't kept up on which nights or which park this year). Also you get some school groups coming in for end of year events. In July, the summer season is in full swing: long hours, pretty much all attractions up and running, shows every night, etc...

Never say never. Last July was pretty humid. It even rained the night of the 12th.

But I agree with going July over June for all the same reasons.

We had to change our July dates this year to June. I am so sad. I prefer July...there are too many complications in June!

Ok, I'll say "highly unusual". ;) Guessed we missed it last July. We went the third week of July and it was fine.

Crowd wise, I'd say July *after the 4th.
Weather ~ DD and I visited for her 8th birthday 7/3/11 :cloud9: Our park days were 7/2-7/6 ~ it was fantastic, low-moderate crowds at all times except the evening of the 4th - now my weather comment, our mornings and evenings were cool *which is fine but I was not expecting it, broke down and bought DD a Mickey sweatshirt.

LOL! Oh, we're not going anywhere *near* the parks July 4th! :)

Thanks guys, I've been stressing about bigger crowds but you're right- no grad nights to contend with and no school groups. :)

We've had a multi-generation trip planned for June for months now but DD got offered a placement in a special program (she's autistic) for the month of June and we'd hate to have her miss a week, so we're rescheduling like mad.

This? This is why we paid $30 for the trip insurance at GetAwayToday.
