Hello Everyone,
I need help! Our trip to disneyland is in June this year. (we arrive on the 7th and leave on the 10th but spend 8th and 9th in the parks) I JUST found out that this is the American Water Works Association Conference and we can't change our dates! I guess i just wanted some tips on how busy the parks will be on the dates we will be in the park. I should add our family is 3 adults.
thanks again.

I would not sweat it too much. I'd be more concerned about the Annual Pass holders making their trips to see the 60th anniversary offerings than I would convention attendees. It will be busy but I would not worry too much. Go and enjoy DL! :-)

Getting there early each day will help you get several rides in before the parks really get crowded.
The 8th and 9th aren't GradNights, so you won't have to content with that crowd.

I don't really know how big of an impact specific conferences/conventions have on Disneyland attendance. I included the AWWA conference in the 2015 Calendar thread because another Dis'er pointed it out (they said they were going), but my guess is that it's not going to have a huge impact on the in-park crowds. For the most part, I think the crowds will be moderate-to-high. You're looking at a Monday and Tuesday in June. Many schools are still in session and SoCal Select APs are already blocked out. I think there will be an uptick in crowds compared to previous years as guests come in to see the new 60th anniversary events and entertainment, but I highly doubt the park is going to reach capacity on June 8th or 9th.

I know about half of my company is going to be AWWA and a few are taking their families. We are a small company of only 18 so those that opt to go to the parks will be there in the evenings after the conference is over, but the mom's and kids will be there during the day. They know I love all things Disney and they keep teasing me on how I should have submitted a paper on how I organize the chaos of our small company so that I could attend. As there are many presentations going on that day I doubt that many of them will be in the parks until the evening. I still may find a way to tag along.:rolleyes1

My husband will be attending this conference, and my daughter and I will be going to the parks while he works I will say that he will be very busy with conference business during the day, and schmoozing in the evening. A lot of the people that will be attending may not have any time to go to the parks. The people attending this conference are typically engineers, water district employees, public works employees, etc. Typically a fairly mellow group of people. I wouldn't worry about it too much. On Sunday night, the 9th, twilight conference tickets are available for attendees though. They can be used anytime that day after 4:00 p.m.

If we arive at park opening we should be fine with getting in correct?
if the worry is the park will be so crowded they will close gates (like Christmas-New years) I would relax. Take a deep breath, DL will be running max hours and full entertainment schedules because busy summers is their bread & butter! While I obviously cannot guarantee gate closures will not happen I cannot think of an instance where DL was so crowded they did gate closures during the summer (including the opening of Carsland). That said, first thing in the morning is when you will see the lowest crowds so definitely be an early riser to get the most out of your days in the parks!
