Greetings!

I'm planning a surprise trip for us for our 25th wedding anniversary. We honeymooned at DW and have been back several times over the years. This will be our first adult only trip in 16 years. Our daughter will be staying with her grandparents. We are going for a long weekend - June 3-5th.

So far I have planned:

3 Day tickets - no park hopper - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios
Hotel - we are staying at the Contemporary
Reservations - California Grill, Coral Reef, Brown Derby - all dinner reservations

I've been looking into having a mini cake made - nothing overly complicated. I have not decided if I should have it brought to our table at the California Grill and served after dinner, or delivered to our room to have after the fireworks. Opinions welcome.

General plan is to do the parks and rides during the day, but after dinner go for a more adult oriented time. I think that will be easier at Epcot with the world showcase but we've never done an adult trip with adult themes so I'm at a bit of a loss what to do.

Please offer suggestions!!! Thanks!

First of all congratulations! It sounds like a fun trip planned. I like that you have California Grill planned it is one of our favorite restaurants. I have never ordered a cake there, but I like the desserts at California Grill so personally I wouldn't choose for it to be delivered there. I like the room idea. Since it is your first adults trip I would suggest planning to do some things that you might not have done with kids, which might just be moving at a slower pace and enjoying details in the park or planning time to relax by the pool or something. Or maybe enjoy a lounge before dinner, like going to Trader Sam's at the Polynesian or Mizner's at the Grand Floridian. Have fun!

Thanks ajr!

I've been reading up on places which are more for adults, Trader Sam's was one. I'll look into Mizners.

The more I'm thinking the more I thought the cake in the room for the end of our first night sounds best.

Congrats!! Everything you have listed sounds awesome! My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at WDW last year as well and I planned a few surprises along the way. I did order a mini cake and have it delivered at Boatwrights where we had dinner. I loved the cake and am planning to do it again this year when we go. I do agree, however, that I would enjoy the desserts at California Grill and do the cake another night.
Another thing I planned was a horse and carriage ride at Port Orleans. I timed it with sunset, so it made for amazing photos. It was nice and relaxing and something we don't normally do when we visit.
Otherwise I agree with the other poster that a nice lounge for the evening (maybe before dinner) would be special as well.
It is a little more pricey, but you also have the option of booking a fireworks cruise, either of Wishes or Illuminations. Definitely a treat!

Thanks Shana!

I've never heard of the carriage ride. I'm going to look into that!
