June to AUgust discount

I just checked your date and the cabin is available for $302 under the new promo. Rack rate for that night came up as $377.

When I first looked online to get an idea of cost, the rate was $330, so $302 didn't seem like much of a discount.

You didn't figure in tax, that shows up on the next page. Rack is $335, then $42 in tax making it $377. The discount rate is $268 then when you add tax it's $301.50.

For me, something is better than nothing.

True, but when you read 20% discount, the difference between $330 and $302 is not close. We are considering offsite, which would run us around $240 - $250 with taxes and resort fee (if applicable).

You are saving 20%....$377-$302 is 20%...you just didn't add tax into the $330 you were seeing.

"Save even more when you add minimum 6-day Magic Your Way tickets to your room."

I can't find what you "save" with this ticket option. Anyone know if it is a discount or extra days, water park or what????:confused3

In my case I got 7-day MYW pass for the price of a 6-day which isn't huge ($10 per adult).

That's it! Thank you. It always helps when you compare apples to apples.

You're very welcome! It's one of those things that's easy to overlook!

Just booked AKL for 7nights in July with dining plan and free days theme park tickets with water parks and more for 4 for $4300!! First time at AKL!! So excited!!

Hey, bamagirl36507-- I'm from Bama, too!

I stayed AKL for my honeymoon in 2008. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Pure bliss to go to the window in the morning and watch the zebras, or to see giraffes passing by as we walk down the hallway!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful time!

OK, I was busy last week and totally missed this thread. I know based on the mouseSavers website, that historically this 30%-or-so discount becomes available about 4/2. I didn't expect it to become available about 2 weeks early.

I called this morning about booking a deluxe room at BWI for the first week of August (7 days for 35% discount) and the CM said it's no longer available at the discounted rate. 1 freaking day late.

My question: what to do to possibly get BWI at the discount rate for that week?

Call everyday and keep checking? (hoping someone has cancelled)
Edit: or keep refreshing the website?

Book the room at the full rate and hope it becomes available at the discount rate?

Thanks in advance.

That's really up to you. The only way to get a discount at BWI with this discount now will be to call in and keep checking. Someone might move, they might open up more rooms... but there's no way to predict that. Having it booked at rack rate won't give you any help in getting the discount applied (like you saw).

My personal opinion - if you want to stay there regardless keep your reservation there. If you want to drop the price, move your reservation to someplace available with the discount that you'll be happy with and keep checking to see if you can switch back to BWI if something opens up.

I agree with AArcher.

Would you consider the Yacht Club instead???

Think summer and Stormalong Bay...

And people are reporting having luck booking through Orbitz....

Thanks aaarcher - we'll keep checking.
Aliceacc - we're a family of 6 which would mean BC/YC villas.

BTW, someone wrote in an earlier post:
A lot of people are reporting that they are only getting rack rate online

As an alternative, we asked the CM to check the price at the WL and the price seemed VERY high, as if it was not discounted (which it should have been). Even right now the WDW website is showing a price that seems "rack rate". What's up?

But our first choice is BWI - I guess our only tactic is to keep re-checking.

I can't believe how fast the rooms are going... it's weird that the promotion runs for so many months. They are going to have a lot of disappointed people if they cannot accommodate the discount, especially if they start advertising it on tv.

Just got off the phone with a different booking CM, and he said that the BWI deluxe rooms are "not on the promo" which is different from "no longer available on the promo".

The website says: "The number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited."
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/summer-room-and-tickets-discount/

Is it possible this promo does not apply to certain rooms, such as the BWI deluxe rooms?

Edit: in other words, it's pointless to keep checking back if those rooms aren't on this discount? (Or are they?)

It is pointless sad to agree. I was told the same for Nemo Suites. They are NOT part of the promotion. Not sold out necessarily but they are trying to fill Cars and Lion King. That is exactly what I was told by THREE different CM's.
It is a very limited offer and it seems you only really save if it is the five nights. I was told by two CM's to check back in a couple weeks for more of a savings on the WL portion of our stay-last few days in August that aren't currently covered. For now I had to do two MM packages on two different reservations to get any discount.

THREE different CM's.

Ok well, I guess I'd try a third time :) and yes indeed it is part of the promo, but there was only 1 of the 6 BWI deluxe rooms made available for this promo. (that 1 room on the promo is essentially "sold out" for now)

But here's the odd thing: the CM told me that the discount on 6+ nights for deluxe rooms for this promo is only 10% - not 35% . Looking at the availabilities for the WL for the same thing (# people, date, nights, etc) it also only shows a 10% discount, not 35%

Can anyone else confirm?
