I wasn't getting alerts from the thread and yes...very busy.

We love AKL, but we also really liked CBR when we stayed there on our first trip. There is an internal bus that can take you to the food court and the main pool. It can be a long walk. The main pool was re done since we stayed there, but my kids loved it when it was the old pool and now it's even better! My kids liked the beaches too even though we couldn't go in the water.

I am not sure where the pirate rooms are, but I've had two co-workers with kids stay there and they loved them.

We stayed one night in AKL and had club level, but I did it only for the safari. I am never in the resort so I am not sure I'd ever do it again just because of the cost. It is great there though at AKL that is for sure. Also, you are not assured of having a savanna view which I think was a huge mistake when they built that resort. I'd want savanna more than anything.

I hope things turn out ok with the family.

me and kay love to walk.. lol so the walking isnt a big deal with us..lol

Us either...people talk about how huge AKL is and it is...but it doesn't bother us...probably only if I forgot something in the room;) I do like good locations all the same though at Jambo and Kidani but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

I think the biggest thing at CBR is to find our how the bus system works for pick ups because I know the busses can fill...that's the only issue I can think of. We were the 1st stop when we stayed there so maybe do a little research on that and make a request...but those may be the preferred or pirate/nemo rooms already. No idea anymore:confused3

well i know the number buildings i would like at CBR, on the map its 44 or 45, its right across the lake, right next to the walkway back over to the food court.. theres a bus stop right behind us...so yeah thats a good idea thank you.. we will be sure to check the buses to see where we have to go. since we dont sleep much there, we could leave early and get to the first one they stop at

i believe we have made our decision. we are gonna stay at the carribbean beach resort.. my sis..is here now, with my youngest nephew... and we were exploring the photos and different info on the resorts... so yeah..:cloud9:

we are already excited!!

party:HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!party:

Hopeing the New Year brings much " Health and Happiness" to all !!!:grouphug:

Jennmouse- we have stayed at CBR a few times- one time at the "Jamaica" Section which is waaayyy down the beach area...I believe that the Martinique area is closest to "Ole Port Royale" (Food Court)...we always enjoyed our stay there, and Im sure you will as well !! Congrats on your decision !
I agree with EE22 though, I would check out how the bus system is working at CBR....I know it is a vast complex, and like EE22 said...buses fill up fast.
So Sorry about your Stepdad`s Mom.. our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time...

Busy busy week, with the family stranded at our house for 5 days after the snow storm (we made the best of it though...lots of laughs and food and playing Monopoly lol :rotfl:)....we are still digging out of 32 inches ! :scared1:..Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer here...I pray we aren`t in for any flooding now !!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011

Hiya everyone, :wizard:

TP2 & Tomar, so sorry about the snow. Seen lots of coverage on the tv. Looks bad. We had a heat wave here today 50's [ and 20's tommorrow] so maybe you will get some of that. It melted us out in 1 day. And yes, some flooding.

JMouse, we liked CBR too. Stayed in Trinadad near old port royal. I think the "north" trinada is the pirate rooms but this is the farthest section from the main building and food court area. It is kinda out by itself. It is actually across a small street and on the far side, of the resort. We loved the location of the closer trinadad. Very near the main pool and food courts.
Sorry about your family in the hospital. Sounds very serious.

Candi, hope you feel better soon. We are almost down to 2 months.

EE22, we have stayed in a few clubs, and I agree. Way over idolized. Kept reading people here about how great, or much better it was, so we tried > and thought this was over rated. Unless it is free, I would pay for a view, before that again.

Well got the tree and everything put away last nite and today. So glad that is finished. Wore me out. and yes, bug helped. Working tommorrow, and its notoriously and bad day to work. Not looking forward to that.

Enjoy your weekend and holidays :wizard: mky

jamaica is actually were we want to be building 44 or 45... the walking doesnt bother us.. we love it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011

Bug - Happy Belated Birthday!

JMouse - Sorry to hear about your Stepdad's mom. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Tomar - I am glad your family was stranded with you instead of some where else. It must have helped clean out the left overs at leasts. :rotfl:

We had warm weather and rain the past two days and all of our snow is gone now. :confused3 I would rather have the snow over the mud. The dog's feet are easier to wipe when she comes in from the yard.

MKY - we are getting closer. I filled out the online cruise documents the other day. That was fun. I have decided to wait and see if there is a sale on the hotel rooms (hotel loyalty points) for the night we are needing before making my final decision. It is 25,000 for the hotel near the airport but sometimes they have deals for as low as 5,000. Right now the sale only covers the end of January so I will keep an eye out in a couple of weeks.

Do you want to try and meet up again on the Saturday we get off the ship?:cheer2:

:welcome: 2011

Hiya everyone, :yay:

Work was not too bad today. Off tommorrow, split weekend cause of the holiday. :wizard:

Candi, That would be nice, but we have plans on that Sat 19th for epcot. Are you's going to the parks that day? We are suppose to be at teppan edo for dinner. If your doing any park, that would be an idea?

JMouse, we always scan the resorts, for future trip ideas. And sis and I both said if we stayed CBR >> it would be Jamaica. The buildings are yellow and light blue. They have a very nice pool that over looks the lake. You walk over the island to the main buildings. Nice choice. :thumbsup2 Did you get you machine yet?

EE22, I can't believe you where up last night. :scared1: I went to bed at 9pm. Of course I did get up at 5am for work today. :rolleyes1

Tomar & TP2, hope your weather is settling down soon. Hang in there.

and Have a great 2011

MKY - we are not planning on doing the parks this trip. I find we only want to do a little bit after we get off the ship.

Here is what the trip looks like so far.

We fly in on Thursday the 10th - late for one night at an airport hotel.

Friday 11th - pick up the rental cars - two cars instead of one van - WAY cheaper but we need it due to the luggage. We are going to visit DD15s friends that now live in Orlando on Friday. I am not sure where we are going to stay on Friday night.

Sat 12th - board the Disney ship around 12 I figure after we return the cars. I am not in a hurry to wait in line at the terminal if I don't have to.

Sat 19th - Beach Club Villas for one night. I am going to book the dinning plan and I have a reservation for us for dinner with Cinderella and friends - I am looking forward to seeing the step sisters and step mom. But that is all we have planned.

Sun 20th - Lunch at Downtown Disney at Wolfgang Pucks express. Return home late in the afternoon.

:woohoo:

and the new year gets worse for me.... yay... *rolls eyes...

my stomach was upset all night friday on and off at work. I come home this morning, eat something. And throw up both what i just ate, and my lunch from work. i fall asleep for an hour, wake up, try to eat, didnt even get 1/4 of the way through it and throw up again... ugh!

and finally now i have kept a few bits of waffle and water down. so we shall see if i can keep a bit more down..

Happy New Year Everyone

There I am trying to experiment with fonts and colors! Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year.

We got snowed in at my parents house. Tomar...You are amazing because it was only 1 night for us and I was pulling my hair out. I like the peace and quiet of home. We had my 19 month old niece snowed in with us too, not to mention my dog. It was an ugly and stressful scene. No bottle for the baby and then the dog ate her last binky. Not a good scene but we survived!

Bug...Happy Belated Birthday. So much going on lately, so sorry I missed that.

Have a wonderful trip everyone. I think I am getting things sorted out for this summer. Was not sure how to work out our dates. I want ot arrive on the 16th but FD does not start until the 19th. Just learned that you can pick up your package tickets 3 days prior to check in. So that makes life work for us. We travel in on the 16th with the room discount then FD from the 19th on. Works for me!

Candi, sounds like you guys are going to be pretty busy. We are pretty tied up on the 19th, so it doesn't seem likely. Where is dinner with cinderella and friends at? MK? or is that the GF one? You will have to really check out the bcv's. They look really nice. Should be alot of fun. We will be staying out at kidani. I am optimistically [is that a word?] hoping we really like it. So hard to say how much time, we will be spending around the resort. We will be flying home on the 25 at night.

TP2, :yay: I am picturing the dog eating the binky. :rotfl: Sorry, it ruined your holidays. That was really some storm. The footage they showed here was scary. So I am guessing the 19th is free dining? Is this august? We are looking at aug as a possible 2nd trip. Much more economical than october, but you get the heat. :confused3 We are looking at the 2nd week in aug? But, not sure yet. Have to turn in our vacation request by jan 31st.
