EE22, Are you having a senior moment? or I should say a blonde moment? :rotfl: [your not as old as me] :lmao:
Your just gonna have to join another board, and meet "california friends" since none of us are useful. My last trip to DL was in 95 and it was 1 day we ate at casey's for hot dog and got on 1 ride. I reminded me of foriegn tourist at wdw. :rotfl: Totally clueless. They don't even have 47 books at barnes and nobles on DL????? There is 1. :scared1: And it is the official guide to dl. We know, how useful the dw version is. :confused3

And yes, there have been times I think I could see faces on a midway flight when its cloudy and they are super low. Vader even looks up at them, not sure what he is thinking. Hmmmmmmmm, that is a big noisy bird.

JMouse, Well we think we are a south suburb of chicago, but chicago thinks this is the sticks of central illinois. We are at the cross roads of I80 & 55. Your closer to WDW than I am thou. :goodvibes

mky:cutie:

lol thats how indiana thinks of us!! lol Ive only been through chi, never been in it really. it is a place ive always wanted to visit though.

yes..yes i am closer... um 14 hours away from it lol..

Ive been talking to my sis again about disney. mainly as i was watching the 2011 vacation planning dvd. I must say its must better than the past years. alot more informative.. and we talked about going back to disney every couple years, making it a tradition with us. and of course she was all for it. I think i got her hooked on disney.. what a wonderful thing to be addicted to.. lol

a good thing about that is, a couple years after our trip in 2012, her boys wil be old enough to go!! YAY!!! keagon will be 7, and benji will be 4..... 4 is still a little young.. but he could enjoy a lot more.. so that will be fun!

then we talked about going around christmas time, seeing all the pretty lights there, and everything all lit up.. and talked about getting a bunch of our families together and going... we have alot of disney plans..lol

JMouse - my DD12 made her first trip in 2000 when she was just about 18 months old.. I started her young. That was only my second trip.

MKY - I am at 63 days today! I am now in the hunt for a Fish Extender for the cruise. I don't want to spend too much money on one but don't want a horrible version either. I would buy a used one if I could find one.

EE22 - I have sent you a link to a board that has a lot of conversation about Disneyland. A very dear friend of mine is Mrs Nesbit.... :goodvibes

http://mrsnesbit.proboards.com/index.cgi?

:woohoo:

Happy thursday, :wizard:

Candi, I already started a box for odds and ends. What is a fish extender? We must of missed out on our cruise, I don't have one. :confused3

JMouse, I agree. Any age except tiny infant is a great time to go to wdw. Each age finds there own thing at wdw. And you get to see it through their eyes too. :goodvibes Sounds wonderful.

TP2, you use garden grocer? I thought someone here has. Would you recommend it? I told a friend who will be car-less about it. Then I started thinking might be nice, you don't have to lug it from the parking area. Says bell services will bring it up. Case of water and pop are too much lugging add anything else, it becomes an all day event. :rotfl:

mky:cutie:

:wave2:

The Fish Extender hangs on the fish mailbox outside your cabin. It has pockets in it for people to leave you little gifts. There is a thread for our cruise date and you sign up to be part of the exchange if someone is willing to organize it for the group. This will be our first time trying it.

I ordered something for the cruise and I should have extra, so I might just mail them to my DIS friends :grouphug: If they are horrible, the subject will never be mentioned again. :lmao:

There are photos of other peoples FEs on the board and I think we might try making one of our own. It could end up being a total train wreck but we'll see how it goes if I can't find one to buy. EBay only had one and it was very young. It would have been perfect for the princess in our group. princess:

I used We Go Shop. Good serivce. They will deliver it even while you are at the parks as long as there is no alcohol. Then bell services delivered ours.

Thanks Candi...will look this weekend...I hope!

Hiya everyone,

Candi, no we did not have one of them. We didn't know anyone on our cruises. I like to stay anomyous.;)

EE22, thanks will look into wegoshop! My work friend, has a big family planning to go over memorial day. She is thinking okw or ssr. They are having the best deals on the discount. Any info in comparing?
We stayed in SSR but if was a few years ago. Never seen okw up close.

I got cancelled today, on call. 3 more hours to hold my breath so I don't have to go in.

mky:cutie:

Hi Guys !:goodvibes
Well looks like I miissed alot here, not getting notifications again....ugh !:headache:
Hope everyone is staying warm....its snowing again here in NJ....
Its only the beginning of Jan. and I am sooooooooooo over the winter already :guilty:
Nothing out yet for our dates in July...I`ve been trying to be hopeful, and hold out, but I may just do either an AAA discount, or call MS for the DVC discount, whichever works....
Since we need to make our ADR`s next week...I`d like to have a confirmation # I can use to apply to the ADRs....or, after the date...Do I need one ?????
Hmmmmm

Looks like everyone is Planning away for Spring and Summer of 2011, and 2012 Yaay !! :yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

MKY- Glad you have a down day....hope you can relax today

TGIF Everyone !!
:grouphug:

i dont think they can REALLy enjoy itat such a young age, and plus, more than likely they wont remember it. they will just hear stories of it from whoever took them or pictures.. its not the same as having the memories themselves... i remember nothing of when the first time i went when i was 2.I feel that kids should remember their first visit to disney...

i just priced out some flights, just to get an idea of how much i would need...and OMG!!! i checked out southwest since they dont charge for baggage. over $1,200 for just 2 ppl!! round trip!! that is ridkculous!!!!! they are insane charging that much! its cheaper just to pay for the checked baggage!! Soon as i settlye down from my heart attack i will check the airlines i normally fly on..

okay... well this price is alot less for Delta airlines... $480... BIG DIFFERENCE!

I would pick SSR or OKW. Tomar can give you tips on where the best places are to stay SSR...for the life of me, I cannot remember where we were. Springs maybe? We were right across from the main pool and the food court. It was a great location.

Should add: prepare them if they are not in the same room that they will may NOT be close together. We had 2 studios and although we were in the same building we were at opposite ends. I was not pleased with this, but we checked in at 2am so all the rooms were gone. This should be a request...to be close together and in the same building if they have more than one room booked.

I think you have to go day by day without a reservation # for the second half of your trip. You can go out 10 with the first one...I think:confused:

Hi guys !:goodvibes
We are AGAIN expecting a snow storm !!!...Tomorrow night into Wed. ! ICK ! :headache:...This winter is turning into a "White nightmare" for us in the northeast

EE22- Thank you so much about the ADR`s ....I think Im going to call MS this week anyway, to see what I can see about the DVC discount :rolleyes1

MKY :cutie:- You know SSR is our Home Resort, but we`re certainly not bias...We adore the BWV also...so having said that, I`ll try to help you on what I know about the both dedicated DVC Resorts (OKW/SSR) . Honestly we`ve never stayed at OKW.....There are Pros and cons of course, to both...here are some of them....
first...Both resorts are HUGE...(that can go either way depending on your likings).....OKW is much older than SSR (although I have been reading that the resort rooms are going through a total Refurb as we speak)....SSR has the greatest value for a large family when staying at the Treehouse villas....HUGE accommodations ...very spacious ! (2 bedrooms)...on the other side of that coin, the treehouse villas are nestled in the woods...no fun aspect unless you like to camp out !! ROTFL :rotfl: (and don`t get me wrong, alot of folks are on line to stay there, this is purely my oppinion :flower3: )....we`ve stayed there once, years ago when the tomar boys were small...Im not too much a fan of the Frontier though :upsidedow ;)
OKW has the largest rooms in Square footage as it was the first DVC resort built.....SSR is much closer to DTD. You can walk, as well as take the boat. More restaurants and shops than OKW (OKW has Olivia`s, and I think a pub)...but that can be a wash, because you can take the same boat (that travels from SSR), also from OKW, to DTD for more options.
I hope this helped you alittle....

Hope eveyone has a good week !! :grouphug:

We stayed at OKW in 2008. It has two beds in the rooms instead of a bed and sleeper sofa, so it depends what you want. Both resorts are great as we also own at SSR and have stayed there a few times now.

Check out the pictures on line and that might help you decide.

Hi Tomar: We are expecting the same storm here. Difference for me is we will have a snow day which means we can all sleep in and DH will be home for the day.:lovestruc At this point I love snow days. An extra day in with the familiy that I would not have had otherwise. Of course by mid afternoon when the house is trashed I will be thinking differently.

I was thinking about your situation. I would book what you want with whatever discount is available for now so that you can at least get your ADR's set. In 2009 we went for 2 weeks and there were things I could not get on the 7am call for the plus 10. I had to call every morning at 7 am for the following 4 days to get everything I wanted. So to just call each day at 180 days I am afraid you may miss out on some of the things you may want. That way you have a reservation for them to plug in and you can alway change that reservation for a better discount without it affecting your dining reservations.

I am hoping to use that snow day to nail down our plans for August. I go back to school next week and I know once that happens I will have no time for planning. I have to get everything all set so that all I have to do is call at 7am on 2/16.:woohoo: Coming quicker than ever it seems.

Hi I am jumping in! I agree with the white nightmare of this winter at the Jersey Shore - uggh!:scared1: We just booked our dates at BWV for July 10 - July 16th!:cool1: I really wanted BCV so I am on waitlist for that... hopefully that will come through! We were originally set up in our home at BLT for August but decided to move it up to July and missed our 7 month window. Now trying to figure out our ADRS - another adventure!!:rolleyes1 Any tips on BWV would be appreciated!

That is a good point Candi as 4 adults in a studio would be sort of ugly at SSR and we booked two studios when we stayed there.

Good luck with the SNOW. We are getting some too and they have been wrong a lot this winter.

I almost hope for a snow day too...although 5 nights at DL should not be too hard:rotfl:I've got three covered already! so different and I have June to plan out rides, etc. Dining is 60 days out.

2012 = offsite with the buffet prices. All of you going this year, take note of non dairy items for me will you?

Hi TP2 :goodvibes
You know Im soooo over this winter already, right ? :headache:...there`s "NOTHING" that I find even remotely nice about it !...when the boys were young, I felt the same way you are feeling now , having quality time with everyone home., Hope the girls are doing well !! :cloud9:
I agree with you about just making a ressie for the adr`s...I called Member Services today to ask about the DVC discount on a cash ressie...wouldn`t you know it...the system was down !!! :rolleyes1...I will call again tomorrow, and day dream about the "summer":beach:, while we are getting dumped on again ....ick ! :headache:
Good Luck with planning your ADR`s as well :flower3:
Stay Warm !!

Hi njtink ...Welcome !:welcome:
Good Luck with your waitlisting for the BCV...Im sure it will come through for you ...SAB has a massive pool complex, and your family will love it !! :woohoo:
The BWV has a wonderful pool area as well....the Luna Pool (with the clown slide)...:goodvibes
As far as places to eat....we usually make ressies for Flying Fish (on the Boardwalk) , Cape May Cafe at the BC, ....Captain`s Grille at the YC is only just a little walk from the BC...as well as the Yachtsman Steakhouse....In the morning you can go to the Boardwalk Bakery...they have wonderful muffins and cakes and breakfast sandwiches you can take with you to the pool or park, or just eat outside there
Of Course you are just a little walk away from Epcot, and a walk, or boat ride to the Studios if you prefer to have a meal at one of the parks....
Here is a link to most of the Resort Restaurants and Park Restaurants :

Good Luck making your ADR`s and Stay safe and warm as well tomorrow !!....I hope the weather man made a mistake !!!!! :headache: ;)

Hiya everyone!

 59 days to gooooooooo!!!!!

Tomar and Tp2, You to: njtinkmom, Good luck with the snow. Really looked wicked on the weather channel. Lots of snow across the south. And moving up the coast line to you all. We are getting EE22's snow next. Hoping it won't be too bad.

Have you guys tried to do your dining online? I have done all mine the last 2 trips. You can link them through your phone number. If your trying to do the 180 days yes, the plus 10 needs a ressie, but if your not you can do it all under dining on wdw site. They really have it set up nice and gives you alot of options. Including adding your allergies and celebrations.

Thanks for the help with ssr and okw. Not sure what friend is willing to $$$. Or how many people are going or staying in which rooms. Her and her husband then her sons and their kids. I am just giving her the info and letting her make her decisions. There where things I liked about ssr, and some things not so much. Mostly didn't like the removed, quiet atmosphere. Bug, always liked the look of okw. But, I thought it was too spread out to.

We are still thinking about a few days before the discount in august kicks in. Where we would like to try out for a few nites. I think I am down to us trying a studio at bcv or staying at cbr.

Hope everyone stays warm and safe. Happy Planning! :)
