jmouse? lol.k.. thats a new one.. but its kewl... and thanx..

no tension.. that will make a great change from work. Seeing as during the week, when i answer the reponses on here is when i get off work.. and stress to spare.. lol

Winter does that to a person and the stores and malls are so mobbed, I cannot even get out for a bit.

I have really grown to not like this time of year for that reason. It seems that people just are crazy, but I suppose that's how they like their holiday. Some people won't even shop till this week and Black Friday is a huge family tradition for them!

Me...give me peace and quiet. I will be glad when these three days are over for DD with finals. Monday is her big day with her pre calc final and then life will be good.

Of course...we couldn't have a snow free week to make life easier with finals this week:confused3 It really messes things up with the schedule with the snow and what the teachers do with grades:scared1:

mky...still trying to wrap my head around ChiTown traffic. I hear there is a train that could take DD to the Burbs. True? or not safe?

also...really in planning mode for MNSSHP Party!!:rolleyes1

:wave2:Hi everyone.

DD15 had her wisdom teeth out on Friday. She looks like Chip or Dale today...

She is sleeping at the moment. :surfweb:

Hiya everyone,

Candi, Ouch! I feel for her. Hope she is up and round soon. Yes, I guess, I can be blamed for all the nicknames. :thumbsup2

EE22, Yes, there are commuter trains from as far as here and out west [aurora] area too. They are packed and safe. Just know which train to get on and where it is going. I never take them cause I get train sick. I told my freind at work about depaul, and she said "the law school is downtown, but the college is north". Up near lincoln park area. That makes me happier. It is still urban, but more sedate. Very much safer. :thumbsup2 Hope that makes you feel better.

TP2, what a lovely picture of your family. The girls are growing.

JMouse, xmas is a week away. Looking forward to the wdw xmas parade! Today the travel channel had on xmas at wdw. That should be entertaining.

Tomar, Are you getting ready for xmas yet? Any visitors coming for just the 2 of you?

Minnie, have a great holiday.

81 days to gooooooooooooooooo!!!!

mky:cutie:

mky: yes, she will be on the Lincoln Park campus. Good to know about the train. Thank you. I'm sure the people there can help her figure that out. We also have to buy a tollway pass too! The traffic doesn't get really nutty for us until after Naperville.:headache: At our monthly Disney meeting the one lady said there is for sure a train that goes out as far as Downer's Grove...that cuts off an hour for us I believe without traffic.

DH is still not driving!!

Candi, good luck. One of mine was up and out that night and the other was a few days before being better.

Stay warm everyone and have a great holiday.

Still have a hard time thinking it's Christmas week.

even harder to believe that 88 days will be your trip mky in March!
that's track season...wow...time just goes too fast!!

yes xmas is a week away.. and i cant wait for it to be over!! i work at walmart.. so yeah .. hectic, mega stress, frantic.. once its over we are okay till next year.. but im ready for it to be over. only good thing that comes of it.. i have a 3 day weekend. since we (3rd shift) has Xmas eve off(fri), then my normal days off are saturday and sunday.. yay 3 day weekend!! im going to my dad's. gotta exchange xmas and birthday present (mine is dec 12th, dad's is dec 26th)

*ish watching steelers game* go steelers!

Evening ladies,

Oh, work was terribly busy. +RSV & +FLU ick. Winter has hit. I am beat & the snow is piling up outside. The weather station had it from Nebraska all the way past you Tomar & TP2. Then there is another wave following behind it. Looked like Candi was in the icky part.

EE22, Yes there is also a station in Naperville. Years ago I gave a ride to my parents going on the train from there. Joliet has a better station, all marble Just beauitful. But, not safe once everyone takes off. They are all ok while people are milling around, just no one stays at them. The naperville one is in the middle of naperville think right on /off washington st. Fairly easy to get to from 55. These are all commuter trains & I don't believe they are expensive. But not sure of prices. I think there is 2 stations in chicago? I've been thru union station and there might be another one. Probably take a cab downtown or the "L" to get there? Your right that 30 miles is about 3 hours if your lucky, when driving.

JMouse, Oooh don't think I would want to work in a store either this time of year. That is along day. Hang in there. Your in the home stretch.
I hear you on b-days, sis is on the 27th. :scared1:

everyone have a great nite and

MERRY CHRISTMAS! :santa:

mky:cutie:

yeha only 4 nights of work this week. I want it to go by fast. then im going to dad's on the weekend. and its a pay week. so shopping time too.

Hi ladies

Once again, the storm just missed us. There was a little snow but nothing too bad.

Christmas is coming so fast now!

We had 3+ inches...if it kept up we would have been in big trouble!:confused3stopped around noon thank goodness!

i always laugh at people that think 3 inches is alot.. or like the first winter i moved to Indiana. i was still in school, getting up for school early in the morning, mom told me to not to bother getting ready, just go back to bed. school was closed.. i asked why and she told me cuz of the weather.. i looked outside and i could still see the grass through the snow!!!

where i come from in upstate NY, we were still going to school in 4ft of snow and -40(wind chill).where i was was in the middle of 2 lakes so we got lake effect snow off both lakes.. people here dont know what that is.. it just makes me laugh so hard when people freak out here and buy up all the bread and milk for just a few inches.. like today.. snow is slushie, nothing else happening.. but school is delayed 2 hours.. for slushy snow thats it?!!? its so funny.

I don't think 3 inches is a lot. I grew up in Michigan and went to school in the UP in Houghton where we had lake effect snow and had 250-300 inches of snow. But, I didn't have to drive in it either and get to work.

I just don't like snow anymore...of any kind. Don't like driving in it either when I have to go to work and worry about my teens driving in it either...especially when the weather forecast says a trace of snow. And we just came off of a week of 30 below zero wind chills and normal temps of -10. I don't like winter at all anymore.

Sounds wonderful...and perhaps I could even eat those.

I hope everyone has a great week and a wonderful Christmas.

Happy December 23rd! :santa:

Off today, and thrilled to see I am in the 70's:banana: Yes, time is definately moving forward.

We got 4 to 5 inches the other day. Been high of 20 during the day here all week. So we are having a white xmas, or maybe a whole white winter??? Don't mind the snow, or driving. With my vw bug, the ruts are pretty entertaining. ;) The icey roads they can keep. All the over passes or highways are pretty dangerous. People drive like nuts here. :confused3 Of course, I am probably included. :rotfl: We have no problem driving in florida. :lmao:

Tomar, haven't heard of that cookie. I liked it till I read the honey. Not a fan of honey. I know, a greek who doesn't eat Baklava??? :rolleyes1 I shame my family.

EE22, bug was telling me there is a train station [kinda near fox valley mall area]. {aurora area} Right off of 88 and rt 59. That would be easy to get to if you drive on 88 at all? She also said, there are 2 different kinds of train's that commute. Some are non stop to the last destination or have just a few stops, Or they have the ones that stop everywhere. If we go somewhere with info available I will try to get you one. Might be online somewhere too? Search: commuter trains chicago / suburbs....??

Candi, glad you missed the snow. We are getting close. Which ship are you taking? Any new events on board? Did you find somewhere to stay overnight?

TP2, hope you and your family have a great xmas. Very nice pic of family. :wizard:

JMouse, Sounds like the midwest does have some advantages. less snow. yikees.

mky:cutie:

well see. so you undersstand. people here freak over a dusting of snow. School closes here for just a few inches.. I remember going to school In NY, in 4ft of snow! the people here would be paralized if they got that much!

oh me too!! me too!! i hate snow. I say ive had enough of it to least more than a lifetime! thats why one day i will move back to my beloved Florida!! i want to be where i was before. In Kissimmee. lovely place.. and close to disney!! lol
