Hi Everyone.

Just checking in while I have a minute.

Had to go buy a new dryer yesterday. It quick on Sunday and since we have fixed it a couple of times it was time to get rid of it. The new one will be delivered on Wednesday while the contractors are here blowing insulation into the walls of the house.

Remember the March trip it broke down and DH was away. I was farming the laundry out to the neighbours for our trip.

We are heading to Detroit this weekend for some back to school shopping for the kids. I am using my Holiday Inn points for free nights at the Crown Plaza.

Tomar - I hope you are still on the mend.

Minnie - I hope you are feeling better too.

MKY - I wish was going with you in October!

EE22 - I would be willing to pitch in a pack of colour paper for such a great teacher!

Candi...we are not allowed to bring in our own paper...the rich PTOs would then buy colored paper for some schoolsnot PC to have colored paper, but thanks. I have nothing more to say on that topic......

The heat is brutal here...water sitting in my dryer from the humidity. It's cooler here...101 today rather than 105 heat index...through Friday.

mky...you might see me as the mosquito's are taking flights now to Midway! they are bad here too.

sorry about not being around for a while. Little stomach flu issues here. Was sick all weekend. Hopefully getting better today.

I saw the discounts out for wdw. Still not interested in free dining. We do alot better with a room discount. The room discounts [general] are out for our oct. trip but not ap's??? That is not fair. I have a bounce back rate and it is absolutely the same price as that code. Down to the littlest nickle. So wondering what will happen with ap rates? They probably will judge based on the response to this offering. Of course, even if I was interested in free dining in March it is blacked out. As usual.

Hey MKY: So sorry you got the "BUG". We all had it back at the end of June. No fun at all.

We booked free dining for August 2011. For a family of 5, it is worth it. We save almost $170 per day. Still can't figure out the exact number per day but the price difference between room only with tickets and a MYW package was like $2300. So POR, with 2 weeks of free dining for us!

So glad you got a good deal. Absolutely worth it when your feeding 5! POR is great. The remodel got nice tv's and big fridges too. Good upgrade. We prefer paratee place but I know you don't get a trudle bed there. Try to be near a bridge, or pool with make your life a lot easier. I usually tried to catch the morning bus from the 1st stop at the main building. It fills up at pofq and then it is full by the time it gets to the back of rs. I know you got to be excited now that your trip is booked.

MKY: I requested building 14 hoping to use the main bus stop. I was reading that the main stop gets a bus and then another bus comes for the other stops. I can't remember from our trip 5 years ago but DH says he remembers not liking the buses there. So I figured out the cost of the dining plan for us, $195.95 per day, room is $159 or $169 depending on weekday or weekend. So we are getting a decent discount. Thing to figure is how much would we spend if we just ate oop? I have time to figure that out and other discounts are not out there so I am good. But if an insane room only comes out, we have a set of tickets already so it would save cash in the end. We shall see, but I am happy for now!

I agree with MKY...Free Dining is the way to go for 5 people....and for 2 weeks !!!....Wonderful !!!...Glad your staying at POR...My favorite Mod !!....we stayed in Aligator Bayou a few times while the boys were growing up ...only once on the mansion side....Love that resort !!

TP2, sorry, I could not open your pictures. I was excited to see they where out thou. I missed the housewives last nite. I fell asleep. I waited and waited for it and woke up it was over. So I will try to catch the rerun. Bug, said it was good thou.

EE22, Yes, I know its still steamy hot. Hoping the air conditioner fairy shows up soon. Iowa is the talk of the news everynite. Must be big on the news there.

Bug, and I did some discussions about March. We are pretty sure we will plan to go and only not if she does not get the vacation time off. Our problem now is where to stay. I just planned on the poly. But read the quiet pool is gonna be under major construction Jan > feb. which if its like the CR's that was over 3 more months than planned. So don't think I want to stay there and live with it. But the CR pool is open to the lake and that will be cold in March. Or the GF we did last march and its ok, but very expensive and not our favorite. Considering heading for epcot's BC or Yc.
Haven't stayed there in some time. But, want more info on the poly pool situation. I have only read it on 1 site.
Any idea's are welcome! I need helppppppppppp.

Well mky...given you have to make a major change why not try AKL it it is the least expensive of the deluxes

I'd stay BC rather than YC...I like blue moreactually I think the BC is a tad less expensive too. We really enjoyed our stay at the BC. DS doesn't say a whole lot most of the time and he really expressed his like for the BC. Of course, his true live is AKL. There is a lot to do there too.

We also enjoyed the WL although I think the food options are not as great there. It also reminds us of Michigan which is pretty, but just sort of strange for DH and I. Their pool might be cool too since it's near the lake. Also in the price range of AKL.

I want to know if Vader is going to get to go now?

Have you heard about the new tour at AK? I'd love to try that. I think my friend from here is going to. I cannot wait to hear about it.

Segway may be in our future too...DS dropped 45 pounds this summer and he is under the limit for the Segway now My hs grad still talks of going to WDWmy work is done!

Well, Mr. Tomar and I are making a great team this week, he`s coughing all over the place, and so am I...ugh !
Called the doc again, this time Im on the Z-Pack, and the Peace Pipe twice a day (nebulizer).....What a summer !!
I was grateful to God that the week the Princess and Prince were with us in the world, I got to pull myself together and have ONE good week

MKY- My vote is going to be the Yacht Club.....(we have never stayed there, almost once, but switched to the BW.)...Even though, either of the resorts are Gorgeous and sitting right in the middle Epcot and the studios
Reason:
We eat at the YC (the "Captains Grille" is great) and the Yachtsman Steakhouse...and we have noticed that....that little walk over to the quiet side of the Whole Y&BC complex is a refreshing way to get away from all the business of the Epcot resort area....Now you may say, how can she say that ?, since we stay mostly at the BW....but, the BW doesn`t have SAB...and that (in and of itself ) is an attraction ......of which I may add..you will have access to also ., even though you are at the YC
Just another thought coming your way.
NOW, my wish is to be able to spend a week at the GRAND at some point...which point?, I can`t figure out yet !!


EE22- Yes, even though, DS is on his way to college, you have taught your boy, the "Way to go", and he will have an "Uncle Walt" "forever", it seems

Yep it took a while but I did it!!!! 3 rooms and 1 more to book when nephew and spouse figure out when to join us.
Event to Celebrate: Daughter"s High School Grad Trip!!!

Location for event: Aninmal Kingdom Lodge

The cast members Mom(me), Hubby (and proud dad) Tim, the Graduate, her 3 best freinds. Add in 2 aunts in thier 40's 1 uncles and 2 cousins.

Now just have to pay off trip and wait till Dec. to start making dining ressies.

Tomar - sorry to hear you are not feeling well still but was glad you were okay for the prince and princess were around.

MKY - I love AKL but the savanna view room is a must for me. But we are going to stay one night at Beach Club when we get back from the cruise in March. I promised the kids we would stay at a different resort.

DD14 turns 15 tomorrow. We had the family here for a party for her today. The cousins are in the living room playing on the Wii and having a great time.

Hiya everyone,

Good suggestions. I knew the crew would be for akl or villas. But, we have really not much desire to stay there. Seems so out of the way. Not much for resturant choices. The animals are great, and the rooms look pretty cool but not sure. For the villas new section where is the new pool? Was it near the parking lot? How is the parking lot? YC is an option, but we had a bad experience our last time there. But, we have been their a few times.
We considered wilderness villas but is there a parking lot back by the villas? I have never seen anything going back there. Looks like a long haul.
I think we are considering CR, BC villas, BC, possibly GF again, or poly if the pool thing is not a problem. Everyday I read something different about the pool work. Looks like they where initally doing it this august. But, got cancelled for now. But people have been measuring etc.. . so could start anytime. Most likely when we are there in october. I looked into what would be available to switch to for october and it seems like not much. We are pretty stuck. >> So march might not be an issue.
I hate decisions. We will probably just stay at the poly and live with it.

Candi, I didn't realize you where cruising this march. No cruise for us till we get a passport. Need to think of that. Very excited for you.

Tomar and EE22, hope your feeling better soon. I can't believe its almost september. Winter will be here before we know it.

TP2, Your trip will be here in a blink. Are the girls aware or is it a secret?

MKY: I second the whole Epcot Resort area. I love it over there. Wish we could afford to stay for 2 weeks there, but I am happy that we get to go. I think the year is going to fly by too. Especially since I am going back to school. I want to have things laid out for the most part so that when February comes, I just have to call in the morning.

Candi: Wish you DD15 a wonderful birthday.

Tomar: I am feeling your pain in our neck of the woods. DD6 is back on her puffer too.
