I just noticed my October trip is finally under 100 days!

I really loved the ET ride. Most people skip it now, cause they don't remember the movie. I remember coming out of it and seeing Woody woodpecker right outside taking pictures. I doubt he is still walking around yet either. My fav. universal star.

I used my bounce back rate I got in March for October, cause its high season, and we are going for 2 weeks. I used an ap rate for July.
But, you never know. Maybe I will do better?? We aren't going till oct. 8th.

ET is an oldie but goodie. I love that movie!! Good! no one will be there. It was like the two big main coasters at Cedar Point...Gemini and Corkscrew...no waits when we were there...Corkscrew was "the ride" back in the 80's with huge wait times. Now it's considered a mini coaster.

I found this so amusing too when I was in Younkers the other day...there was a guy standing in line buying a RECORD PLAYER!!!How funny is that!!!!

It was a combo and played CDs too I think and you could hook up an Ipod or MP3 player. I was very amused. It was at Younkers though. My mom's hi fi probably is worth a pretty penny.

Tomar & EE22, Did you guys do the computer check in? I haven't done it before. Just wondering if your pre assigned a room location you don't want > can you talk to someone about what you want? Or are you stuck. We changed out flight so we will be there before noon. Just not sure if its something that helps or is more of a problem?

I was just checking availablity at CR and its sold out, except some really expansive suites.

I did online check in last year for both SSR and AKV.
I did not put in my CC# though.

The key...when you do the online check in...DO NOT do the room request. SKIP that part!! It wipes out those you made with CRO.

I felt at AKV we could have changed. You still don't really have the room # till it's ready, but we knew where it would be. I guess I'd push the issue if you didn't like your room. We did the text when it was ready too.

I think it's an advantage. We got to SSR at 2 am. I called the resort and they already knew where I was and our rooms were NOT even in the same building. They moved me. I think online check in helped us.

I know Tomar does not do it. She has always had good luck with her room requests though...I have NOT and our first DVC stay was a BAD ROOM. The CM that checked us in though was a total tool!

You know that place well, if you aren't happy, ask to go somewhere else. Be firm but Nice

I should add: The CM that checked us in last year told me that they assign the online check ins first. That could vary from resort to resort though too.

I am really flying blind this year with Kidani. There really isn't that much info out there on where to even request. I hope I get someone who is nice and really knows the place. The guy last year was AMAZING.

Well we have CR tower and mkv >> but, I like to be over the shops and not the resturants. Everyone requests "high floor" but I have not really thought it made a difference when we where high or not. It starts on the 6th floor and goes to 10. Not that big a diffence.

I think I might try it this time, since there is not much of a differnce where we will be put. Just try it out. We get there early, so > I should be able to talk to someone if we can. CR always tries to get you into a room quick, if possible.


I was suppose to work today, and got cancelled. We plan to see eclipse / twilight tonight.

I think the bottom line is...you get there early...you have more wiggle room. The last few times we have checked in late...earliest was midnight since 2006.

If you don't like the location...asked to me moved. If you aren't asking for the high demand rooms I think you'll be better off too.

You can add the CC# when you arrive AND do not do the room request...it's very limited with the online. Keep yours with CRO.

Whoa !!!! Catching up on all the convo here today !!!
I was out most of today finishing off things that had to get done...Our Package is on the way to the Boardwalk....Yaay !!

MKY-CONGRATS !! & AND HAPPY JOB ANNIVERSAY !!...THAT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE !!!....You are a wonderful nurse !!
2 more weeks for you guys !! YIPEEEEEEE !!!

EE22- we did ET with the boys when they were small...both were picked to ride the flying bike with ET in it !!
1 MORE DAY FOR YOU GUYS !!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!

WE ARE NOW IN SINGLE DIGITS !!!! 9 MORE DAYS !!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!
I have never done the on-line check in ....Im afraid I may mess up my chances of getting the room I want !!! ROTFL......we usually get to the resort early enough in the day though, to ask if our requests can be possibly met (wink)!

MKY: Congrats on 30 years of service!!! That is huge!

I did online checkin last year. No problems at all. The only request that I had to re-ask for was the medical needs fridge. Not a big deal at all. They had it for me but we arrived pretty early in the day, I think around 2:00 in the afternoon. But our room needed time to be preped long before we got there because we needed a VIP clean. They had already finished the first room and the second room was in the process of being cleaned. We needed 2 rooms because we are a party of 5. I had no issues at all, it was great to walk right up and have everything done already. 15 extra minutes of vacation!
