So just when I thought we were out of the woods with winter....we woke up to a winter wonderland!:scared1::scared1::scared1:What a disaster. Hoping it will melt quickly and we will be done with it for the season.

Hi Ladies! :wave2:

Well, we came home to a huge storm didn't we!

DH told me the snow was gone this week but when I look out the window, it looks like only a little more was added. It was a bit hard to get home from the airport due to all the snow. The roads were a mess. :scared1:

I think we got about 14 inches since yesterday afternoon. It fell very fast.

We had a great trip and met some interesting characters. There are some odd nuts out there!

MKY - it is very different to go without the kids. I saw some of the things you have mentioned before. One women at Big Thunder Mountain kept making comments to her kids that they needed to stay away from me because I was not very friendly. Then she threatened to beat me up because I looked at her kid. Forget the fact the kid continued to run into me for the 30 minutes we stood in line and I only "looked" at her twice. I had to tell the park staff that she was threatening me to make sure she did not follow up through the park all day! She was NUTS!

We were at the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday and they had some electrical problem that lead to a huge computer problem. It took until 11:40 before we could get on any of the really good rides. Considering we were at the gate at 8:30 for a 9am opening, it was a disappointing day. By the time the rides came up, all the late arrivals were there with us. They did what they could to improve things while we waited around like extra characters were out, an extra parade was run, they extended the park hours, but it was frustrating. We had been hoping to do the whole park in one day and we ended up having to go back for a second day but we did leave early that day. It was the only day we did. We opened and closed the parks every other day this week.

It is only 17 more days and I will be back in the air! :goodvibes Maybe I won't even bother to put the luggage away? :woohoo:

I hope eveyone is feeling better and that you did not get too much snow.

TP2-Same thing going on here in NJ ....Yikes ! :scared1:

Hiya everyone! :yay:

Congrat's TP2! We have never done the luau, but have seen the enormous crowds draped thru the poly waiting for entry. Ugh. They line up. Not sure if its first come seating or what but, they seem to line up and are in the way quite a while. Just annoying as your trying to get to your room / or dinner at the poly. The parking lot is packed during the luau hours too. We try to not return till they are over and out. Have a great escape with DH in AC. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Tomar, Now, I always thought the backyard bbq sounded like fun. But, in the spring could be too cold. And summer too hot? Could never decide when we wanted to do it. Then we read lots of beer and "partying" didn't want to replay the food and wine fest > so have never planned it.

I saw on Regis and Kelly it was snowing today, on the east coast. We missed most of the snow yesterday, as it got her late and only snow/rained. So it didn't stick. But, they are calling again for it tonight.

Candi, sounds like an adventure. I am starting to think, people look at us without kids and think we are in the market to get one? Your story I totally lived at the old basket ride that went over fantasyland to tommorrowland. We where in line at the alpine entry near small world and they had stairs. This mother and 2 kids. The little boy about 5yr kept kicking and standing on my heels each step up. So I kept trying to get away from him and the mother was saying outrageous, things "she doesn't like kids, stay away from her", She shouldn't be at wdw, this is for kids". etc... You get the idea. I turned around and said, Your son keeps standing and kicking my heels that is my only issue". Her "he is only 5yr old... " I should of said exactly why don't you watch him then. instead, she was "reading a novel" while standing in line and not interacting with her 2 young kids. :confused3 Mother of the year, Very interested in child rearing. Just cause she took them to wdw? Which apparantly is only for kids.:headache: The up side was it was our last day on the trip & I wasn't that upset to be going home. :rotfl:

EE22, Absolutely think spring break. Coming soon. Tell DD that the queen of the st. pat's parade in chicago is attending depaul. Saw that on the local news this am. See they are already making big plans up there for march.

Jmouse, hope your feeling better.

Everyone have a great day.

17 days and counting ...:stitch2::stitch2::stitch2: :stitch2::stitch2::stitch2::stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2::stitch2::stitch2::stitch2::stitch2: :stitch2:

Ok, looking for somewhere to stay / do in august. We get our summer discount starting on sunday but, we plan to fly down on wed and stay or do something till sunday check in at the CR.

thought of the coast, vero beach, cruise, or US. Need to visit our family in tampa too? Will probably wind up at the beach club, if an ap rate comes out.

Even am considering the dolphin. Can do the nurse rate there. But, does anyone know how much they add on for the daily parking fee & resort fee? That makes it alot higher?

Oh well, something to consider. mky:idea:

MKY: That is so funny. I can't believe that people line up like that. I don't think it is first come first serve. Reason I had to switch nights was because I wanted tier 2 seating and only tier 3 was available. I know at Hoop, we always get seated in the exact same table. 3 straight years! That cannot be a coincidence, they have to preplan the seating. I will do some searching in the restaurant board to make sure though. My family loves Poly though so we have to visit for one reason or another. We have done Ohana and it is nice but we don't love the smokey flavor of the food. We we love hanging out in the Poly. Figured it was something different to try.

Tomar: I want no more of this stuff. Just when we thought we were done! Hopefully this will melt quickly.

Candi: Sorry you had trouble on your vacation. I read about the trouble at MK that day. I figured they would do something to make it up to guests. They really had to extend park hours.

Well, hope everyone enjoys their winter wonderlands! Gotta start packing!

TP2 - it was a lot of fun with even with the few hicups. We still had a great time. Where did you read about the problem? I would love to hear what others are saying.

MKY - I liked Vero Beach in March of 2009. It was cool for the beach but it is a much slower pace than Orlando is. It was like a short visit to the southern states. I know they have noseeums (SP?) at some time of the year so I would avoid that if you can.

We went to Bush Gardens in Tampa on my first trip to Florida in 1990. I loved it and they have some great rides too. Maybe you can add that to your family plans? :goodvibes

There is so much snow here today it is unreal. :scared1: I am being told the ground was bare yesterday afternoon!

:yay:

TP2, We are not really crazy for ohana either. Been a few times. Might go and try the "new" menu. I think they changed it 2 years ago? Just tweeked it? But, it is alot of meat. Not sure how some people eat that at 9pm? I think I saw adr's open till like 10pm? The luau now, I think you get stitch and lelo? Supposed to have a story to it. That is so weird at hoodeedoo. Did you have the same cm's and actors too?

Candi, Did think Vero might be nice in august. But Busch is definately a no. Terrible mold allergy. We went years ago & I was sick from there on for weeks. Set off my asthma. My md explained: hello, its in the air from the brewery. Happened bad in milwaukee too. :confused3 Sorry about your homecoming snow. Ick.

Who am I kidding, we will so be at wdw for the 4 extra days, at least somewhere. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

mky:cutie:;)

TP2- We are supposed to be getting another round of snow again tonight :scared1: ...Im sooooooooooooooo over all of this ! :headache:
Happy packing !!...Hope you guys have a great time in AC !! :cool1:

Candi- Sorry about the nastees....there definately wasn`t any magic going on on that line
I read about the trouble at MK that day as well....everyone should have gotten a "Do-Over"...;)

MKY- Not sure about the extra charges at the S&D...but....your soooo right, one thing I am sure of also ....You and Bug will be somewhere in the world for the first 4 nights !!:rotfl:

Tomar - we did go to guest services and arranged for a one day ticket the next time we go to Disney but they said very few people asked for one.

It was still a good day. It was more a disappointment than a bust. :goodvibes

Hi All...trying to read up...been busy here.
10 school days till spring break. Doesn't seem possible.

I am glad you have adrs for the summer!:cool1:

You'll be in single digits too soon mky and Candi!!

I will tell DL11 about the DePaul student. I thought of the green river today that you posted about.
she has only 52 days of school left.

:banana:14 dayssssssssssss

EE22, this is for you: http://greenchicagoriver.com/ Trust me, it is not that color year round. ;) More of a dark murkey, blue / brown. :confused3
:woohoo:For spring break! Enjoy your time off. I will listen for your knock at akv. :rolleyes1

Candi, are you ready? You should of just :laundy: & packed.

TP2, hope your enjoying AC.

Tomar, any guesses on ap rates? If you see anything for august let me know. :wizard:

Hope everyone has a great nite. mky:cutie:

Hi!

The green river is always a treat.

I have a funny story. When I was in college, I worked as a grounds keeper at a very exclusive private club. We would dye the ponds blue for special events so it would photograph well. Everytime I had to help, I would have a tint of blue to everything exposed including my hair for weeks. :lmao::lmao:

Nothing like a very white girl with a blue tint to make you laugh in the morning. :rotfl: If I had to dye it green, I would be able to call in sick for a few days! :rotfl:

I did keep the suitcases out but with the final touches being done on the house, space is at a premium - man do I have a lot of stuff to get rid of!

TP2- I hope you are having a good time.

Good Afternoon Ladies !! :goodvibes

MKY- I am waiting and watching for an AP rate for the summer as well :lovestruc...I will certainly let you know as soon as something comes to pass ...I HOPE SOON ! :goodvibes
WOW....that River sure looks GREEN !!! ::yes:::shamrock:

TP2- Hope you guys are having fun !!...Stay indoors today...its NASTY weather out here in NJ !...Rain and Wind !!

EE22- Can`t believe that DD is soon going to be College bound !!

Candi- Good for you on the freebee day !!:woohoo:

party:13 More Days for MKY, Bug and Candi !!party:

So A.C. was fine. Lots of Jersey Shore and Jersey Housewives on tv at the hotel. I thought it was funny. Got my first taste of Jersey Shore. :scared1::scared1::scared1:I cannot believe that show.:sad2:

But in any case it was nice to get a way for a couple of days with just DH. I was actually missing the kids and could not wait to come home yesterday. Now I am wondering why.:rolleyes1 It was so nice and peaceful when we were away.

Glad everyone is getting all set for their trips. I am hoping to be able to change our dates a bit and go down a week earlier but we have to see if they release free dining for the time we need. Otherwise it is going to be a rush coming home and going back to school right away.

Hi TP2- :goodvibes
Glad that you and DH had a nice time and a peaceful couple of days away from it all !!:goodvibes We all need that once in a while !!:cloud9: Gives you the strength to take on the crew again when you return home !! :rotfl:
I can`t believe that they actually show the Jersey Shore and the Jersey HW on the hotel TV`s.....They were better off showing "Boardwalk Empire"...we watch that one, about AC in the 1920`s...(mabe that`s why I love staying at Disney`s BW :goodvibes)
I watched the JS also for the first time the other night....Yeeeeeee-ikes !!
Watching and waiting for a good discount also for our nights on cash this summer.....I don`t think Uncle Walt is loving us much :guilty:, as we never seem to get any of these mysterious "Codes" or "Pins" that are being fortold on the July code thread.....
I will let everyone know if one comes my way, or a general code comes out, and pleeeeease let me know too ?????? :grouphug:

Tomar: I will keep my eyes peeled for you. I am also looking for something so that we can go down earlier. DH has a pin that expires 2/28. Took the poor girl like 10 minutes just to find it then another 5 to read it. Don't get what took so long. She said a room only code but travel had to be complete by end of April. Does not work for us.
Yes, Tomar, those shows don't do much for the NJ image. I would not show them on my hotel tv screen either. In any case, I am just happy that we have a trip planned for this summer. I just feel like it is a mess right now because I don't know what date we will really travel. I guess time will tell. I can't imagine the wait being too much longer at this point.

TP2 :goodvibes-Your right about those shows ....DH seems to think the kids in the JS and the RHONJ are laughing all the way to the bank though....:rolleyes1
Can you imagine one of them was even on DWTS ???...Unreal !!:upsidedow
Thank you about the discounts ...I have registered DH on the disney site also....Still Nada ...I hope a general public code comes out soon...

Tomar: I think you are right about the money. JS kids had nothing before so now I think they are getting like a million a season. That is a ton of money. The first year I think was a free house and $3k each. I remember people saying that they were ruining their futures because any employer would know them from that show and never give them a job. But things have changed and they are making some cash now. But the Housewives, I really don't get. They have money so I guess they want fame???? Who needs it, really??? What a mess really. Unless it was to promote their businesses, which I guess it did.
