We dodged that bullet thank goodness.

But, I need help from mky...too many basketball games and I'm suffereing from bleacher butt. 4 in one week is too many and one was 2.5 hours each way. Two weeks left:cheer2: Then we move right into track season where I'll suffer from web feet in the rain.:p

Hiya everyone, Hope your weekend was great.:wave2:

EE22, You need a better cushion to sit on.;) Hard to believe your moving into track and field so soon. We still have alot of snow on the ground.

Yes, thanks everyone. Getting a upper and lower scope on Friday the 13th. Hmmmm, maybe I should re-think that.:rotfl: Not really too concerned. But dreading the prep.:sad2:

TP2, Hope your little one is doing better. I would be concerned about all the antibiotic's too. We are seeing alot of kids with MRSA. [the infection that is resistant to antibiotic's > from over use of antibiotic's] [but it is also catchable, from other family members / or exposure]. It is definately on the rise. Always finish the antibiotic's that are started. Otherwise, the germs are only partially treated & come back stronger.

Candi, we are having issues at work too. They have a group, checking jobs & preformance >> to see who can be cut. I am not worried. We are already short & not filling the opening on my unit. But bug, does satistic's and doctor information. Its a big job, but you never know where they think they can cut. :confused3 pixiedust:

Tomar, glad princess: is doing so much better. pixiedust: Our weather shifted yesterday, from 5 to 37, so I am back on the nebulizer.:rolleyes2 But started early, feeling better today.:thumbsup2

Its cold in florida. They said the superbowl was cool too in tampa. Remind me someday not to go to florida in January.:upsidedow

So happy I was off all weekend.:cool1: We are getting close now. I am down to 39? :hyper: :cheer2: :hyper:

mky:cutie:

mky...that doesn't sound like fun...on any day. ICK.

track season: last year they had to shovel and snow blow the track so they could practice. Not great weather.

I don't have a good seat for the bleachers...I should get one. I have a GREAT chair for track. The bleachers last night were old and very bad. The new ones and rear indentations which make my Mickey seats useless...they won't sit on them. Oh well....

Happy Feb everyone. :cheer2: I hope the ground hog sleeps all day tomorrow or it's rainy in PA tomorrow!

you'll be gone before we know it mky and candi.:hourglass

MKY - no area seems to be safe right now. Bug does stats for a living :crazy2: ! Since I am a math nut, I can appreciate what she does but I think it would drive me nuts to have to work with stats all the time.

My count down shows 38 today. I don't think it counts the day we leave but I have to work a full day on the 12th.

We saw Hotel for Dogs on Friday! Very cute movie.

EE22 - do you have a pillow you use? I hate the bleachers at the ball diamonds because they have ridges in them and so I have a plastic covered cushion to hep ensure I don't get a grid lines on my fanny! :rotfl2:

MKY: DD8 needed the nebulizer this week too and DD4 woke up today wheezing.:sad2: I was trying to figure it out. I guess it is the weather change. Hope you feel better. DD8 is sick though now too. I am afraid of bronchitis. I think we will visit the doc tomorrow. I think I would rethink that appointment on friday too. Or maybe the bad luck is having the appointment.:rotfl: Good luck with that.:goodvibes

EE22: What about those seat pads? I think I have even seen them with pockets to put warmers in.

Candi: Thanks for the good wishes for DD4. She is doing better but now she has a cavity to be filled on Friday. That should be fun.:scared:

Good luck with work. I know things are in a shift now and thats never easy. At least you have a great trip coming to look forward to.::yes::

Tomar: Did you get to enjoy the weather today? DH washed both cars and they REALLY needed it.

Have a great week everyone.

TP2 - you are right about the change. I am usually pretty good with dealing with change since part of my job is to make changes....but I worry about the number of people being unemployed. It has such a snowball effect.

I was lucky to have a great mom that taught me to live within my means and I have no debt because of her teachings. My father-in-law told my DH very early in our relationship (before we were married) to let me handle the money so that he would be farther ahead (he is a spender) and that was the greatest gift he ever gave us.:goodvibes As a result, we have a house that is paid for and credit cards that I pay off each month.

I think the changes are a good thing and will help people prioritize again. It is becoming fashionable to be frugal again and I am loving that...:cheer2: My DH says I can squeeze a nickle so hard the beaver (on our nickles) poops quarters. :rotfl2:

I need more nickles to squeeze so I can cruise more often. Once every two years on the Disney ships is not enough. :lmao:

Hi guys !!:goodvibes
Well the weekend is almost over...(although Mr. Tomar is sooo ingrossed in the superbowl he could care less right now what day it is :crazy2: )....:rotfl:
Today was the first day I could breathe freely outside without holding a scarf to my mouth , it was in the 50 degree temp. range ...I was loving it !!...I hope SPRING comes early :flower1: , I had just about enough of this COLD weather !

MKY- I wish yu good luck with the tests you are going to take ...I pray that all will be well with you !!

EE22- Keeping my fingers crossed for the Groundhog to give us a good sign !!:flower:

TP2-....Mr. Tomar took the cars yesterday to have them washed...we didn`t know today was gunna be soooo nice out !!:flower3:

Candi - your next trip is comeing up very soon now ....it`s Feb. already !!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We washed our cars too:thumbsup2 we haven't been above freezing for a long time. But, I watched the weather for Mon and Tues:happytv: not good. Snow showers, but nothing big, but -15 and -20 two nights with wind chills. I hope they are right as mid 40's are due by the end of the week.

Think Spring:flower3:

March is never fun around here that's for sure.

Forgot to mention...mky...they are giving teachers notice here in some small schools. No state funds means cuts for school. I believe they cut 12 in a very small school near here. It's very scary. The students had a protest/walk out for the staff.

Hi everyone.

It seems like it is starting to hit every area now. Imagine how much worse it will be if the auto industry doesn't make it in the end. :scared:

It was a normal Monday for us...crazy as normal.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

The Big Wigs in the US auto industry have been having issues for over 20 years. They need to figure out how to run a profitable business and make a good car. Small companies all over the midwest are failing and no one cares in Big Govt. I'm sure Pella windows didn't make the national news, but they are having issues too. They are in the corn fields and being crushed by no new houses being built. A company in business since the 1950's folded here too. Big Govt. isn't helping them out. Ethanol plants aren't turning a profit and no one cares either. The Fat Cats with the auto industry need to learn how to live small so the small guys don't suffer.

And...look at Disney...no one is going to bail them out. They have had to trim and cut and will continue to do so in these new bad times. Can you imagine Central FL if Disney goes under?

I totally agree with you EE22-
Many businesses here in New Jersey (small "Mom and Pop" businesses) are hurting deeply ...and alot are folding as well...They go under....quietly... without all the fanfare neither...:sad2:

I also agree. It is very sad to see the changes but I am thinking that maybe we will go back to a society where only one parent works. If jobs become slim that is just a way I see it going. Do we really need a Home Depot on every corner or all the strip malls. I have no problem driving a bit further to get to shopping. Maybe preserve some trees.:scratchin But now I am getting on another topic altogether.:p

Hiya everyone!:wave2:

We are having some problems at the hospital. Even thou, they keep saying health care is "safe". We lost money the last quarter.:confused3 Seems awfully busy where I am.:confused3 They have one of the "consult" groups going around cutting jobs, and "evaluating" employees. I feel pretty safe. Work in a specialty, and we are already short. But, bug not so sure. Doing her job, they could always, move it somewhere else, change departments or cut hours, or other works and pile on more. You never know.:coffee: Kinda just a wait and see thing.

EE22, how do they decide? Do you get saved by seniority? or cut, cause you cost too much? Hopefully, you will be ok, and miss your school.

We are back to the deep freeze. At least all the crazy lake effect snow is heading east [toward candi] and not south west. We usually miss that party. But northern indiana and michigan are being nailed.

Tp2, & Tomar, wow 50! That is almost laying out weather. Did you guys go to the beach? :lmao: I washed my car at the gas station today, it really needed. But it was 11 degrees and is probably frozen now.:scratchin

mkyprincess:

OK, I just read [allearsnet] that Bay Lake Tower is opening: August 4!!!
Will disney go to these lengths of opening on my birthday, >> just to get me to finally join the dvc?:lmao:

mky:cutie:

EE22 - It is the big wigs in all business, especially the financial sector that need a wake up call. How can they collect multi million dollar bonuses when they are bankrupting the company? The financial companies received billions of US taxpayer money and then took a lavish trip to Vegas, remember?

We are the same with small business closing all over town. My friend that owes a pizza shop near my house told me he was almost dead quiet last night. Tonight I walked in and he was the only one working and only had one guy driving for him and it was the dinner hour still. I hope he can hold on especially since his wife has poor health and can't work because she has seizers all the time.

I don't understand it but they just opened our first Lowes store:confused3 in town.

We did a lot of cutting including our executives and I think we will be stronger because of it but you never know if you will be safe.

Like Bug might have to face, they keep piling the work on the ones that are left at our place but at least we are still working and getting paid.

It is going to be a very hard year and I think it will get much harder before the mud slide stops.

Stay warm everone.

mky...in our district, newer teachers would be riffed first even though it would take 3 to make up the salary of a veteran teacher, but that's how they do it. It's also based on certification and the years in an subject area. I'm sure all Iowa schools are the same. The school would have to go under for me to go. I believe I am the top dog in the district for 9-12 math, but might be 3rd...not sure if two teachers at the middle school are certified 9-12 too. But, we have two middle schools too so one of them would take a building and I'd be at the high school. That's if only one math teacher per building was left.

Schools are going under here in the corn fields too several in the last few years on the west side of the state. The 70's and early 80's were tough on small Iowa schools and many consolidated. That's where they have all these letters put together like MFL-Mar Mac...not even sure where that one came from!

When I first started in 86, I was riffed. It's either due to a decline in students or financial reasons. I'm not sure what's going to happen.

Impacts of Boeing hit our city with new lay offs for the company here that seems to drive our entire local economy. Not to mention all the business that is just gone due to the flood from the summer. Sad state. One of our biggest districts here may lay off teachers. The Feds aren't sending the $$ either...I guess it went to more cars and banks.

Not with the auto industry...
With the auto industry it's also paying line workers too much money, giving health care benefits for a King and Queen and that doesn't even begin to touch the waste of the job bank where people never worked on a line or for anyone for that matter for YEARS and collected 6 figure incomes. The auto industry needs an overhaul. For them, it's the entire system that is wrong.

The auto industry has received tax dollars for years...under the cover of other bills, etc from Congress.

mky...are you a Fantasmic! fan? they have increased the showings in Feb. I'm hoping for summer they are each night, but if they aren't we'll just have to plan. That is DS's fave show. A must see for him.

MKY - I see that car rentals are starting to come back down for the March time frame if you are still trying to find a better deal.

They are at least back down to the level I booked them at months ago when they had been double for a while. :thumbsup2
