Beatuies n the Beast - that sounds like a wonderful trip for you. Will this be your first trip?

We surprised our girls back in 2003 and the reaction was not what I expected. :rotfl2: You can see other peoples clips and stories on the DIS boards and they can be very funny.

MKY - I have found a coupon for car rentals that is pretty good. Do you have a Costco membership? It is for Budget and it is 20% off, no charge for extra drivers, and a free upgrade at the counter.

This is not our first trip to the MK - we have all been there twice before but only on quick one day trips to MK. This will be our first extended vacation and all of our first times to the Studios as well as Animal Kingdom. I've been to Epcot, but ages ago when I was my oldest daughter's age -- so I'm sure it's changed quite a bit LOL

Hiya everyone!:wave2:

Candi,:scratchin Sure this is the first time we will do the garden, in a few years, or I would have an A1 view [tower mkv]. But > there are a few places we know of. No, still not interested in DVC. My parents where always very anti- time share ideas, Or condo's for that matter. Hidden fees, maintaineous fees. Guess we where brain washed. That and the fact, I want to own my own home in florida. Awwwww, someday. pixiedust: Then you can all come over to mky's house.::yes::

EE22, I hear ya.;) WOW, that is phenomenal code.

TP2, My problem with the values, large tour groups. Sorry, I don't want to be next to the cheerleaders, or teen tour groups. I know, somehow that is where we would be. I have really bad timing. So far, none or these groups stay where we do. Otherwise, I would really like to stay in Dalmations and swim in that fantasia pool. How quiet are the rooms? Thin walls? Hear the kids next door? There is a world of difference in the deluxes. The Poly [which is very popular] you might as well NOT have walls. Its like communal living. :rolleyes2 The CR, you think your the only ones there.:confused3

Tomar, I am guessing: that 4 or 7 deal all summer. This time, I will bet an itcadoozie!:thumbsup2 Somehow, I think they seem cheaper on the ap rates compared to the sent out codes.

Hope you all had a great weekend. mky:cutie:

MKY- Im gunna have to agree with you ....I think also that if the economy stays the way it is ....the later summer will see a better deal ! :goodvibes
Although.......the AP rates are coming out in consistant order so far....so the Tomars are staying hopeful for a better price at the BW than our AAA discount !! :thumbsup2
Hope everyone had a good weekend !!:grouphug:

Happy monday,:wave2:

Well, finally got thru to wdw. Changed our dates for October. Doing the Mid 2 weeks. My weekends at work changed back, [effective after march] so we needed to leave the 2nd week. Did score the AAA rate, but if the ap rate is not good, or I don't hit a bounce back or code. We will probably split the CR tower with pors or figure out something else. It is very expensive. :rolleyes2 But, it sells out so its our starting off point. See what happens.pixiedust:

I bet it will depend how wdw does for the summer, to see what discounts they need to do for the fall. :confused3

Bug, and I went over over our adr's and check deb's site for menus. We also are going to try that Italian resturant at the swan. Anyone tried this place before? Also, I was thinking that my foot has been pretty good > and march might be a good time to try that segway tour at fort wilderness? It is hard on your legs, ankles and feet > should probably do it mid to late in trip. Just in case. We have done the epcot segway and it was alot of fun, but more work than it looks. Any thoughts?

mky:cutie:

MKY-:cutie: The Italian Restaurant at the Swan is "Il Mulino"....it is supposed to be wonderful !!:goodvibes .....It is a New York based restaurant ...Our DS has had dinner there and loved it !......It was on my list this year ...as we`ll only have to walk over the bridge to the D&S....but ....Mr. Tomar has been dying to try "Shulas" so I gave in !! ;)
Glad that your foot is doing well...the Segway tour looks like fun !:moped:

Hi Everyone.

The Segway tour looks like fun but we have never done it.

I would love to have one here since everything is within a 20 minute drive here and you could go a lot of places on your Segway....except in this cold.

The epcot segway thing was alot of fun. Your in the classroom for about an hour, >> or till the whole class is comfortable. Then you head out. It is hot in the helmets and you really don't go that fast. Bug got hers going to fast at one point and actually jumped off almost went in the lake.:rotfl: It was so funny. She landed good in the grass & and segway wasn't injured. :lmao: But the instructor kept a close eye on her afterward.

Tomar, I will let you know about the swan resturant. Let us know about shula's. It is very pretty in there. The dolphin fountain is on our must every trip. We found it years and years ago > and watch it change and evolve. But great for a sandwich and ice cream, alot of fun too. I think that blue zoo place looks interesting too, [elegantly cool] but bug, thinks its too fishy.:confused3

Just mailed off our taxes, now will that refund check be here before march? :scratchin That would be nice. Or at least here when we get home.:hyper:

Otherwise, it is still freezing here. No snow melting for a while. I think I saw EE22, was getting more snow. :rolleyes2 Maybe it missed her?

Candi, we where planning that, but will change to catch up with you. Talk to the kids and see what they and dad would prefer to meet.

mky:cutie:

MKY - how nice of you to change your plans for us. :grouphug:

I will see what they want to do and let you know.

:cool1: 44 days!

Hi Mky :)

I have done both tours and loved them both :thumbsup2

The big difference between the two is that the FW tour uses an all terain version with larger tires. Otherwise balancing / features is about the same. The terain is rougher on the FW tour as you go over small logs and thru a rutted section. You also do a bit of standing around off the Segways lstening to the guides.

I actually did the FW tour before Epcot as the FW tour was in an "experimental stage". Good to hear that they kept it :thumbsup2

I agree though it's definitely more work than it looks ;)

Hi Everyone::wave2:

Have not been getting notices again.:confused3 DD4 has another double ear infection. I am at my breaking point. New antibiotics this time but they are tearing apart her stomach so its not good. Glad tomorrow is the last day.

MKY: Segway sounds like fun. I want to try new things this trip. Finally DD10 is old enough for horseback riding. Gonna look into that. Not sure if it is worth it to waste Disney time though.:upsidedow But I think DH will enjoy doing it with her.

So, we are talking about driving down.:drive: Not to save money but because I am reading about all the viruses and after our last trip, afraid the plane ride will get the kids sick. Am I crazy or what.:crazy2: Mapquest says it is only 19 1/2 hours.:scratchin :rotfl2:

MKY and Candi: Your trips are getting so close. When you get back summer will be right around the corner.:p

Tomar and EE22: Hope all is well. We must all be busy lately.:goodvibes

Hi TP2 :goodvibes
Im soo sorry that DD4 is sick again ....I hope that she feels better with the new antibiotics :flower3: ....I know that you`ve had quite a winter so far with the girls princess: .....Let`s hope that the Spring brings a new beginning of better health !:flower3: ...I know that the Princess princess: got sick again, too, after haveing her tonsils out ...:sad2:
We had a horrible storm here in New Jersey Yesterday...I can`t wait for the Spring !!pixiedust:
About Driving to the world- We did that trip in the car many times when the boys were young from where we lived in New York. My in-laws had bought a home in Florida to go for the winter months, years ago, and we did the drive there , and to the world many times....Just saying of course from my own experience  ....Im not gunna tell you its a walk in the park...especially if your saying that your DH is anything like mine :scared: !....( Mr. Tomar`s Motto is.. "Lets get where we`re going ,in the shortest length of time " !:rotfl: ).......If you guys make the trip...make it like an adventure in itself...where you stop to sleep and rest .....the rule of thumb is not going more than 500 miles a day....Mr. Tomar never actually followed that rule !!! :moped: :faint: :crazy2: :rotfl:.....
Im not getting notifications at all myself again...I have to come by and check this thread now and then, to see what is going on lately, or I`d never know :sad1:

Happy Thursday Everyone !!:wave2:

Hi Tomar: You hit the nail on the head with DH. He said his only fear is that I would extend the trip by a couple of days on either end. Of course I see no problem with that.:rotfl:

So sorry that princess: got sick again. Another issue with her tonsels? That is just frustrating for everyone too. To go through the surgery and then still have problems.:sad2: Not sure why our pediatrician said DD4 is too old for tubes because after more research, they can still be done. Even for adults. Not sure if it is more painful when they are older.:confused3

Did anyone see the promotion running on a website called lastminutetravel.com? They are selling hotel rooms for $1 per night. You can book up to one week and the booking window is for a year from now. Catch is that there are only a couple of minutes a day that you can book the deal so you have to stay online and watch the site and look for clues. People have gotten GF, POLY, Epcot resorts. Started watching but missed one this morning while getting the kids on the bus. There is a whole thread about it on the budget board.

TP.....WHOA !!!....the GF for a dollar a night ??!!!! ....Thank you for the heads up !!! :flower3: Im ON THIS !!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I have to read how it works first !! ;)
The Perfectly Princess got sick after the operation with a bad cold ...but it seems that since then...with putting the tubes in ...and keeping better for a while ......her immune system is holding its own  ...thank goodness !
I think it`s like you said...the older the child...the more pain involved in inserting the tubes....not sure ...but in anycase I hope that DD4 is better soon !:flower3:

Hiya everyone!:wave2:

Work has been brutal. Everyone, in the area is IN the hospital.:sad2: We are busting at the seams. Going in tommorrow [or tonight] at 4am. :upsidedow I am not working this weekend, and not coming in extra either. So I took the early friday extra. Hopefully, my 12 hours will go by fast. I see the surgeon tommorrow at 4pm, so I have to get out of work on time, if not early.

Did anyone get hit by the ice storm? We are still under 25 here and snowed again. This is definately the worse winter in years.

TP2, Sorry about your little one. Ears are so painful. Hope she feels better soon. Ear tubes & tonsil surgery go in and out of favor. Seems like we do alot of them, and then you about have to bribe the ent md. to get one done. :confused3 Not sure why. I think they do better with the tubes. I have a friend who's son, has lost alot of hearing due to ear infections. Once they finally did the tubes, he was so much better. Hang in there.pixiedust: As for that $1 rooms:hyper: wow. You would think they could give a better ap discount then going to those extremes. :confused3

Tomar, Mr. Tomar sounds like bug. She only lets me stop for bathroom breaks if we need gas. Otherwise You stay on the road. :drive: I have to admit, I am a little relieved that we decided not to drive in march. I get about 4 extra days at wdw and hopefully not wear ourselves out as much.

Candi, saw alot on tv this week about the auto industry. pixiedust: Seems like things are really looking bad. Must be very depressing at work.

Hope everyone has a great nite :cheer2: & happy planning, mky:cutie:

Hi mky...this winter tops last winter. Sorry about work. I hope things go well for you. Keep us posted.

MKY: I believe that you are busy. It seems like everyone is sick.:sad2: Hope your appointment goes well with the MD. Wish the doctors were just honest as to why they feel one way or another. I guess so many are afraid of law suites.:confused3

Tomar: Thanks for the well wishes for DD4. So sorry that your poor baby got so sick after being through so much.:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: I have no idea anymore what the right thing is to do. Hearing about your princess makes me rethink things. She has been on antibiotics for almost 5 months straight. That is not good either. Everything you read tells you something else. DH and I were talking about when we were kids. Didn't we use some type of warm oil on a cotten ball when we got ear aches? Now antibiotics for 10 days.:confused3

Have a good night everyone.

Good morning Ladies !:goodvibes

TP2- the Princessprincess: is doing much better now since she has had the T&A op...she got sick after it ...that one time...but since then...she is holding her own....I agreee with you about taking so many antibiotics....yes...years ago ...I used to used the hot oil with cotton also:angel: ...for the earache part...and honestly...my pediatrician used to give me Benedryl for the ears...saying that antihisimines helped in ear problems ....I know today`s remedies are soooo different...and we have to listen to what our doctors prescribe as a cure...but again...I agree about your concerns in the meds dept. I hope that DD4princess: is better soon !!

MKY- Good Luck today at the Doctor !!pixiedust:

TGIF Everyone !!:grouphug:

I just read this! Don't use the warm oil...DH is partly deaf due to that treatment!!:upsidedow whenever he can't hear one of us we yelll....thanks for the oil mom!!

DS was on preventative antibiotics for a year when he was in kindergarten. They didn't want to take out his tonsils so I agree TP2...they change what they are doing ::yes::

Hope the princess stays well Tomar.
Hope things went well today mky.

TP2 - sorry to hear that your DD is having trouble again. Ears can hurt so much! :sad1: Keep in mind that prolonged ear infections can lead to deafness without any help and might give you reason to push for a more aggressive treatment.

I have two friends that are both deaf in one ear due to infections.

We have hit near record snow falls for this time of year. I think with the snow that fell today, we will be at or above the previous record. I would not mind if it was not so bitter cold but I have not even been able to get out and enjoy the snow at all.

MKY - yes the auto industry is in huge trouble and work is very busy since they have let so many people go. We had two that left today on early retirement (not by choice). One will be missed, one was a boil on the #@! of the the world and since he never did anything will not be missed.

I don't think we are done yet with changes but I am very busy with the move of production to our plant. Plus with the one retirement today (again from our department) I have two more people that will be reporting to me. So at least they are keeping up the number of people that I have reporting to me....so that is good for me.

It is going to be a very hard year but at least I am still working and still getting paid and for that I am truely grateful. Many are not so lucky.

But it is Friday night, we went to see Hotel for Dogs tonight (Birthday party) and so life is good!

:wave2:

Hi Ladies

I saw news about a huge ice storm that has left so many without power. I hope all of you are safe and warm.

I will send pixie dust your way! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
