VMK: I do hope you plan to see the MK fireworks on July 3rd or 4th. They are amazing. The 3rd isn't so busy. I think then they have special ones at MGM on the 4th.

MKY: can't believe the ap rates aren't out yet. How very odd.

I hope you're packing Tomar.

Good luck with flights TP2.

to be honest.. we are avoiding the fireworks.... for that simple fact.. the crowds. We wil see the usual ones.. we don't have hoppers. We are actually going to the one park that doesn't have fireworks on the 4th.. which is AK.

Yes, the crowds even on the 3rd were horrible. It was actually like Christmas when we saw them. They really are spectacular though. During the day the 3rd wasn't bad at MK just after the fireworks. You could stand out in front of the train station to beat the crowds and not use a hopper either.

I see... well we will consider it. But it's not me.. it's my husband, he doesn't do well in crowds.. I made him promise me he wasn't going to be in a bad mood all the time because of the heat and crowds. He said he really wants to go and will not be that way at all.. lol riiiiiigggggght!

Ok, a couple questions for you all.. How many places, DON'T accept credit/debit cards? Including places in DTD... like minigolf and stuff. We just want to know how much cash we need to carry.. I know for tips and pennies and stuff like that, but where else won't accept our debit card?

Then also, what do you usually do for souvenirs? For yourself? It's just the two of us.. no kids.. I'm not sure how much we should budget for that.. Of course... we won't care about as much as kids probably would.. but just a little token from each park. Our pictures will be our best souvenir.. and I bought 2 more memory cards.. so i have the capability of taking about 3000 pictures! lol My computer may crash when I get back!

Of the two of us, I'm the one that hates crowds:rotfl: I only deal with them at WDW.

I can't remember...are you staying on site? That will help me answer the credit card question.

Things are expensive at Disney. Shirts $25-30 just to give you an idea. I love my Mickey icon earrings :)

I found the ride pics are what we really enjoy. DH loves them and so do the kids. I think they just like me screaming in the pictures is all.

lol! yeah we are staying onsite! We are thinking of doing the fantasia mini golf.. wasn't sure if they accept debit cards.. because every mini golf place around here only takes cash.. so i just wasn't sure.

yeah, we probably wont' buy t-shirts or anything like that.. that's all stuff you can buy at other places. But yeah, we love the pictures from rides too, pressed pennies we collect, we have to get some regular mickey ears.. just because that's a must for a first time trip. I'm probably going to look for some unique things.

We use our room key to charge everything to the room then. I have to believe that the mini golf place would take that. I don't know for sure though as I've never been before, but Disney wants your money so I bet they do. I would post on a different board and ask.

Disney has a wide variety of gifts...they want your money. I'm sure you'll find something. Many of the places at DTD will personalize items for you too.

DD loves the pressed pennies. We went through a lot when we were there at Christmas. We bought two of the books when we were there for her pennies...maybe even three. Those quarters are heavy after awhile. When we ran out of what we brought too the cashiers would sell us more too which was nice:goodvibes Having the tubes from the mini M&Ms worked great too.

Yeah, I've thought of using the room key thing for most of it. I know they will have the stuff delivered to your room.. can you have it delivered to your room if you pay with cash or another debit card?

Yes, even if you pay cash you can deliver it to the resort. This is another great way for Disney to get you to spend your money:rotfl:

lol that is awesome though! No lugging around all those items.. and if we're just walking through and see something.. we can get it and have it delivered rather than either carrying it around with us or waiting to shop till later when we are tired of walking! lol

I am just so excited.. it's so close. my brother and his family are there right now.. they got there yesterday. I offered to trade vacations with them but they didn't go for it! lol

Another question.. hope you don't mind.. how wet do you usually get on Splash Mountain? I'm not into water rides much.. but that is a classic..and I want to.. but if it's too bad.. i'll get a fast pass and wait till we are about to leave. I just hate walking around wet.

One thing I learned the hard way...if you see something you like and want it and it's at a park, you should probably get it. I often think I'll find it at DTD and can't and then when I go back a day later or so it's moved and I can't find it.

Can't answer the SM question...never been on it. DD won't ride it so therefore I haven't either. DS says you get pretty wet. He said if it's hot you'll dry off pretty quickly.

yeah, I figured that.. that's why I like the room thing!

Ok, well I think I read that they do some extra things with the water in the summer. we'll probably wait and do it last thing if we do it. I'm sure it'll be hot too! lol It's July in Florida!

well after what just happened on that ride, I don't see myself riding it.. plus it's just like a ride we have at a park not far from here. So i'd rather spend that time on some other rides.. like EVEREST! lol We are only spending half day at AK anyway. Then we are going to Cocoa Beach that day!

vmkprincess: chloe, Yes ee22 is correct. Disney (including fantasia golf etc...) will take: cash, cc, KTTW card, travelers checks ...... . We love Fantasia mini golf.:) They have 2 courses (if you haven't been there) 1 is like a mini real golf course. If your partner or you is a real golfer would enjoy this. The holes are really like putting greens. Lots of fun. The "mini" golf area is all based on fairy tales. With :smickey: mickey as the main character. Don't forget about the summerland courses over near blizzard beach. The christmas decorations or summer sand courses are alot of fun. Remember for mini golf if you have an ap = discount is available. And don't for get the bug spray. At nite we always have gotten eat up, cause of the trees etc.. .

Shipping, Check with disney if you buy too much. We have found that they will ship from every location > And you do not pay florida tax so sometimes that in itself pays for shipping.:thumbsup2 When you get home its like christmas with all your boxes showing up. :woohoo: And no worries about dragging stuff home without breaking it.;)

Sis and I don't have kids either :sad1: but we still find WAY to much to buy. So I am sure you will.:thumbsup2

Quick tip: If having trouble, naviagating to mini golf (if you don't have a car) taxi fare on property is usually less than 5 - 10$ any where. And a lot quicker.

10 days WOW > I would be packed, out in front waiting for limo:woohoo:
happy planning! mky:cutie:

MKY, I knew you'd know since you are more experienced than I am;)

I still laugh when I see your signature:rotfl: They really should name a piece of the park after you and the people at CRO know you by name...remember last spring?

I'm so annoyed over the ap rates!!! GGGRRRR

splash mountain > on the inside not wet at all, on major drop dug you head down > will keep you 80% dry. Then when you go by your adoring fans > the boat turns the corner and a waterfall is on the left side of your boat > Here do not under estimate the wet factor (trust me) I usually get soaked here (especially on seat > butt) because there is no getting away from it. Based on the backed up boat factor > is how wet you will get.

Cali river > only been on once > totally soaked > will not repeat. :confused3

Universal studios (in case you go) All there water rides are very soaking!!!! People routinely change into swim suits to ride, that should of been our tip off.

I am a big snowglobe person although I haven't bought any on the last two trips, but now you cannot bring them on the plane with you at least at Christmas time I couldn't...it was posted on the TSA site. I saved some cash that way at least.

DH and I are going to the credit union to have our papers notorized.

yeah, we have seen all the options. We have chosen of the 4 courses... (2 at each one) we are doing the fantasia Hippest golf around or something like that not the one like a mini real golf course.

We are driving, so we will have our own car. We won't be having anything shipped to our house since we are driving.

what is the ap?

We have pretty much everything planned.. we have our itineraries.. and everything.. just getting some last minute tips and everything.. we have bought everything we are taking with us. We are on a pretty tight budget though.. so spending will be limited while there..
