June/July/August 2006 Code watch

Six Flags lowered their prices to guests who bring their gas receipts. This was reported on our local news this morning. Perhaps...that it's early yet for summer travel, there hasn't been much impact or change of plans..but given the thought that prices may continue to rise seem to have the Six Flags folks considering what the ramifications for travel closer to home might mean to their bottom line. Perhaps Disney will follow their lead with some codes...figuring if gas is a concern for some..the codes might make up for that.

We paid $3.19 to fill up (with Regular)..yesterday..no drop in price yet here on Long Island.

glad I went back to sleep this morning. This is getting ridiculous.

Now I know why we have stayed off site the last few trips.
We payed less $ got more for our $.
2 value rooms are more than 2bdrm condo where you get more amenities.
Just thought I would try this time with the kids staying on property. princess:

Thanks for the replies. I was just wondering as I have seen it a few times on here. We are going as a bunch, there are 11 of us with 3 rooms and I thought maybe there was some kind of discount....now I dont need one as I have a CM discount but the people we are going with did not so just wanted to check anything for them. Also have been watching to cheer you on. :cheer2:

First off...thanks to everyone for rising early and calling and posting. I check every morning on this thread to see if the code has been released.

Also....just wanted to tell everyone to stay positive. I still have a feeling we will get a code for June and July....they are just making us wait forever for some reason. I guess they know the reason and we probably will never know.

Now....I wanted to add to the drama a little by posting the information from the AP website when the change was made from BRP back to the regular AP code system. Remember this?

"Disney announced today (January 10, 2006) that it has replaced
the Passholder Best Rate Program with a new "2006 Passholder
Benefit." The new program eliminates the 60-day advance booking
requirement of the old Best Rate program. Passholders can now
book a room right up to their travel period (subject to
availability). Passholders who prefer to plan ahead still have
that option and will now be able to see available offers online
months in advance.
Normal deposit/cancellation fees apply.
Reservations for Passholders who have already booked a room
through the Passholder Best Rate Program are not affected by
this change."

"Months ahead".....yeah, right!

So....if a June code is released....they will be breaking their 5 month old policy that is supposed to give us passholders the benefit of booking "months ahead".

Just wanted to stir the pot up a little :)

Well, the outcry on this board when they came out with BRP was lots of OUTRAGED folks who ALL called Disney to complain. :rotfl2: They got what they asked for, it went away and now there is NO advance notice. (Be careful what you wish for.)

Disney isn't "breaking thier policy" Disney changed the policy, according to some posteres due to our outrage at the policy...

If the summer AP rates come out (I know...big IF), and if I already have a resort reservation at rack rates and if the resort is booked full at the time, is it a foregone conclusion that I will be unable to change my reservation to reflect the AP discount?

Well, generally, if you want to know the reason someone does anything, and you can't figure it out, eliminate sex and revenge, consider all other options, and pretty much 100 percent of the time, if you reject everything else you're left with one answer: money. I don't think sex or revenge is the answer here! ;0)

Just a little fun trying to add some levity to the thread. Why WDW would make people wait? I think the reason is that disney is an information junkie. More information means more money to them -- knowing when people travel, where they spend their money, when they book, what they book, where they live, etc. -- they spend literally millions every year figuring out how to use all this info they collect.

The longer they wait the more information they have about summer occupancy and the better they can tailor the AP rates, if and when they do come out, to not end up discounting themselves out of potential rack or AAA sales for the summer. The downside of waiting, of course, is that if you wait too long people don't have enough time to plan a trip. My hunch -- and it's only a hunch -- is that June is already sold so well that they are not overly concerned about this.

The other option, of course, is that they have finally recognized what I think many of us already suspect -- that overall AP may be a losing proposition for them.

It depends on how much noise you want to make. If you call within several hours of the code, and they tell "tough luck", make a big stink.

If the code comes out and you don't call for several days, make a little stink.

Whenever you get a CM who doesn't seem to know what they're doing, or suddenly develop an attitude, ask to speak to a supervisor.

Just my humble $0.05 worth.

My DD and I go to WDW 3-4 times per year because we're Florida residents and I don't ever remember codes not being out months in advance. Then again, maybe I'm just having a senior moment. :)

Do you think a rolling on your back laughing :rotfl2: was really necessary???

I am sorry if this offends you but I really do not think posts like this belong on a code waiting thread. This is supposed to be a nice place to come and wait for codes. Laughing at those of us that are still waiting is unnecessary and rather unkind :sad2:

I am waiting for FL Res rates but wanted to thank all of you for reminding me of AAA! I saved $150 on my weekend trip!

What if all the "after Memorial Day" CM's are right???!!!! :confused3

All we can do is wait and see, but it was about 3 weeks ago that the CM's were telling us 'Try back the first week of May' .
and here we are :sad2:

I honestly don't think anyone knows apart from the marketing dept. I suggest that we lock them in Its a Small World until they tell us ;)

You're right, here is the 2006 info: :)
1/10/06-1/15/06 AP room-only rates became available 1/10/06, exp 1/15/06
1/16/06-2/4/06 AP room-only rates " " 1/10/06, exp 2/4/06
2/5/06-2/15/06 AP room-only rates " " 1/10/06, exp 2/15/06
2/16/06-4/13/06 AP room-only rates " " 1/10/06, exp 4/8/06
2/20/06-4/8/06 Florida resident room-only " " 1/5/06, exp 2/8/06
4/23/06-6/3/06 AP room-only rates " " 2/22/06, exp 6/3/06

So the last lot that were in this new ap programme gave 2 months notice, not exactly months in advance and its even less now for June :confused3

I may have mis-posted. I didn't mean that Disney was "breaking their policy"...but, if they do release a June code (which I hope they do :teeth: ) ... they will be going against their own official press release that stated:

Passholders who prefer to plan ahead still have
that option and will now be able to see available offers online
months in advance...

Now...I'm sure no one will "police" them on this....but, just wanted to make a point that they said we would be able to see offers online months in advance. If they release a June code....it won't be months in advance.

Whether you were for or against the BRP and it's demise....Disney still released official information on their website saying that any discounts would be released "months" in advance.

I guess if they don't release a June or early July code, then this whole post is moot.

Well...the program changed on 1/10/06 and they released codes on that day from 1/10 to 4/13.

Then, on 2/22....they released codes for 4/23....so, although it's not many months....it is two months and that does qualify as "months".

We are down to weeks/days for a June code (26 days today).

Of course....I hope they do release the codes for June soon and I won't call them or e-mail them to complain about why they aren't releasing the code "months" in advance.

I guess I'm just trying to keep everyone awake over here while waiting for codes.....lol :smokin:

I don't care....I'm going to Disney in about 25 days....woohoo!!!!
