June/July/August 2006 Code watch

Just viewed the Mickey Monitor online but can't read some of the small print so I called th passholder line because on the last page it says block out dates (which include the summer). I spoke with Bradley and he said that because I have an annual pass it does not concern me and not to worry about it but WHAT exactly is being blocked out? Of course I thought hotel rooms because the dates were June 10 - August 17 but I am not sure. He did not feel like chatting and was a bit abrupt but I guess they are sick of the questions.

The "summer" Mickey Monitor is up on the member website now....earlier today it was the Feb. edition. It doesn't show any AP discounts beyond 6/3.

That is just DEPRESSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :guilty: :rolleyes2 :sad2: :sad1: :( :worried:

Alright now, let's get those positive vibes flowing! Who thinks it will be tomorrow? I have a good feeling in my gut (however, I could be hungry because I skipped lunch :teeth: ) for a release late tonight or first thing in the morning.

I for one (although I know you all are with me) am sick of the waiting. It is May. In 31 days it will be June. We are leaving on June 22. Just let us know one way or the other so we can make a definitive budget!

I got pretty bummed when I read that it didn't list the summer discounts in the Mickey Monitor...until I realized that if it were in the May Monitor, lots of people would have had the information ahead of time in order for it to go to press and be posted at the site. Wouldn't a CM leak the info if that were the case? Do you think that's one way the CMs have gotten the info ahead of time in the past?
:confused3
I can understand that if the resorts are all nearing capacity at rack rate, they might not release codes for that time period. But I can't imagine it would be for the whole summer. You'd think it would be mostly holidays! When I check for rooms for random dates in June - even for a week at a time - there are plenty of deluxe rooms available and some value rooms. Mostly moderates are filling up for longer stays. Probably because people were waiting for AP codes before booking deluxe! If anything, I would think that the free dining promotion in August and Spetember would help fill the resorts without codes and that would be the time they were less likely to need to release AP codes since people are booking at AAA or rack rates with the draw of free dining.
:worried:
I got spooked enough this weekend that we bumped our end of June/early July dates up a week so that we arrive on 7/7. I know that all the guidebooks and Passporter this year mentioned changes in the AP discount program, and sites like mousesavers remind us that AP discounts are not guaranteed, but it's hard to imagine whole months being completely blacked out. I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed and thinking happy thoughts for all of us!

Tuesday or Wednesday? Anyone wanna place a bet?

To put things into perspective, they offered AP rates over Spring Break and that (outside of Christmas/New years week) is the most crowded time of the year, so relax, they will come out.

I can't even see it. I click the link and it says done and it's a blank page. Bummer.

If they were going to put new AP rates in the Mickey Monitor they probably would have waited to post it online until the dates/rates were released. At least that's my thought.

I don't have much doubt there will be AP rates for whatever isn't booked up.

Did anyone else get excited when they saw the second update of the day at mosuesavers.com? I came back from the store and checked out the site and my heart did a little flip because it even said there were updates on the discounts at WDW hotels page, but no new dates.
:sad2:
Still thinking positively for this week! Hang in there everyone!

Hi all :grouphug: See not much has changed since this morning  Just called about 1/2 hr ago and nothing yet.

I found a good link on another site for the mickey monitor this is it:

Not sure if it will work here for you. I can tell you there is Nothing about ap resort discounts. The blackout date thing is about different discounts not resort rooms. :smooth: :badpc: And YES there are cirque discounts. ;)

Happy hunting, MKY princess:

The link I put for the mickey monitor works but if you don't get it the first try just refresh your page and it came up, mine did. :thumbsup2

The new Mickey Monitor lists the old Passholder offer for rooms (only up until 6/3)...

No help there...

Hi Guys, :wave2:
Let me tell you what kind of day This was
I became compelled to call 3, count them 3 times. First time, nice cm, actually said her computer was down, kept me on the phone, and I surely thought the next word out of her mouth was going to be: "yes, here`s your AP rate", NO SUCH LUCK :rolleyes2 , she said I could call back as many times as I wanted........ ok...... soooo 2 hours later I called again, this time to the passholders #. :) Nice cm said anytime now !! :crazy2: .........ok........so I called back again just now, and got " we never know when, but you can call back anytime" sigh !
then to top it all off, mousesavers just e-mailed me with an updated discount, :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: NOPE, not the one we`re all looking for ! :badpc:

OKAY!!! I've got my WEDGE And I'm not afraid to use it!!![/QUOTE]

Eeyorelover22- :cheer2: "CONGRATULATIONS" :cheer2:
Hope you Had a wonderful Day!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, I did :) for the most part anyway.
The best part was...most couldn't believe I was that old. That was a good feeling.

The day went very well till mid morning when the long term sub for the man in our department (he was injured the weekend of Easter) can no longer sub because of her injury. We are in sad shape to find a replacement. I don't want to go back tomorrow to the chaos.

Eeyore22 if you checked in before April 13 and then stayed from that point on they had AP rates. I would assume that if someone were going to WDW they would stay at least 4 days, if not a week, so if they had checked in on April 13 for 4-7 more days, that wouldve covered the week after Easter. Then AP rates resumed on April 23.

From Mousesavers:

"2/16/06-4/13/06 Annual Passholder room-only rates 1/10/06, exp 4/8/06 "

To follow up on that yes I know that they didnt offer anything for checkin from Good Friday through April 23, but my point is technically they did offer AP Rates if you could get to WDW and check in before April 13 and then stay for a week or so.

Yup...I know. But when I was hanging with April/May/June code watchers there was someone on there that it didn't work out for. They could only get a couple days covered at the end of their trip if even that...I can't remember for sure. I know if you changed your dates, it would work, but many of us have plane tickets for our trips and can't move dates either.

Just like if you were arriving on June 3rd, you're all set.

My friend is checking in on the 4th. Her hubby called today and the CM wondered if summer rates were coming at all. Just another CM with speculation of course.

And if you have to live by the school calendar as I always do, I can't move dates around much either depending on the time of year. For example, December. If rates went to the 21st only...I couldn't just get there one day earlier. I wouldn't be able to get the day off.

Edit to add: We worked Good Friday too so that holiday would have been a bust too :(

Okay, so when this week is over I think the reality of all this is going to hit me hard. We need to make a decision as to what to do next. Do we rebook in August with free dining, stay off site, or stay value? My husband REALLY wants to stay onsite because of the transportation. He feels that with a rental we are always obligated to stay together but with staying onsite we can come and go as we please. He feels that the freedom is invaluable but in the end I am a SAHM and he is a teacher, we have 3 kids so money is definately an issue. I am trying to stay positive for this week but at the end of the day I want to see some light at the end of this LONG tunnel.
