Depends on the season. When the rates were $100 off for deluxe it was regular season, and therefore higher rack rates. Rates for July and August I believe last summer were $75 off.

However very few discounts were offered for standard rooms at WL and AKL and they went so fast.

And, this summer, they may only offer discounts on the rooms that are more expensive at deluxes too and not even offer them for standard rooms. I can also see them skipping holiday weekends too. They skipped Easter week. They added the weekend of Memorial Day as a skip too.

No more waiting for us, as we decided to forget about waiting for an AP rate to come out for our weekend days before we check into our home resort of SSR (we are DVC members). I had booked Pop Century as my daughter likes it there, but I am not interested in paying rack rate for a value resort, so we are going to stay at Hilton Grand Vacation Club so that we can have 2 dedicated days to Sea World - much more convenient for us, especially my just turning 3 year old who is a Disney Veteran. We found last time that she didn't want to leave the Disney Magic to go to Sea World (we are Passport members there as well), so this way, it's a win-win situation for all!

This is my first year with an AP so forgive me if this question has been asked a zillion times. I'm planning a stay at the WL for 8/23-9/01. If I book the trip now and pay my deposit, would disney adjust my rate if AP does come out with some discounts?

Yes. You can apply the discount if it becomes available. I think your traveling during the free dining thing though. I don't know your situation, but that might save you just as much as an AP discount. The Vets here know more than me.

The free dining promo that was released on a Friday evening, well really Saturday morning but it was leaked on Friday evening so maybe there is hope for tonight. Otherwise, I guess we wait until Monday.

According to Mousesavers, AP room only rates were released on 3/9/05 for 4/17/05 through 7/4/05 and more AP room only rates were released on 5/4/05 which were good from 7/5/05 to 8/27/05. Sorta different from the way things look this year. Who knows what/when/if July rates will be this year.

When I called this morning the answer I got was..."No ma'am, not until May." I know they are just trying to get us off the phones, but maybe the CM was right. That at least gives us some hope that they are coming out at all!

Many of the posts revolve around AP rates. Does anyone know about PIN postcards? I am going to check mousesavers to see when they came out last year, but I'm pretty sure we had ours by now (for a June 29-July 7 trip). Even if I don't get a postcard, I'd like to know if they actually came out.

I called today to change resorts and while we were talking I told the CM that I was still hoping AP codes would come out for the second part of trip. First week we're on MYW/dining, then I'm upgrading our tickets to APs for the last part at the Polynesian. CM was very nice and told me to keep calling back because it should be very soon.

Those rates won't be soon enough! We have plane tix (got really good deal before prices jumped up!) and our cruise is all paid for (7 week Magic)! Just need the rate for 9 days before cruise! This wait is sooo annoying! I want to make my adr's!!!!

Yes we are insane. Too bad we're missing you at the Poly but we'll be in Disney for the 4th of July again in 2007. Since in-laws are not coming that trip, I know we are definitely doing a three way stay then. We're doing Poly, BC and the Nick Hotel. We're bound to run into each other eventually! Give me a full report on the Poly when you get back.
