June/July/August 2006 Code watch

I was looking at Mousesavers historical code releases, and it seems that in the last couple of years AP rates and Fl. Resident rates for summer (after June 3rd) have not been released until the first week of May. I wouldn't begin to really worry that none are coming until after the first week of May.

Although I wish it were sooner to put my own mind at ease!

Actually they changed the cutoff this year. In the last few years, the rate release for June was included with the rate release for May. Those rates were announced in prior years at about the same time as the ones for April/May this year. (hopefully that doesn't sound like complete gibberish!) I was able to apply our AP rates for mid-June last year when they were released in March. So, I personally don't believe any codes will be released at all for JUNE at this point. I think there's still hope for July and beyond though, at least until early May just as you said. But who knows, I'll probably post this and see a code release for June announced later this morning! I hope those of you counting on it will get it!

I disagree. But we are all just guessing at this point. :confused3
It is much busier in July and early August than it is in June.
So.... for them to skip June and have AP rates or codes for July and not June... really isn't making sense.

IMHO.... June is a heavy "convention" month and they have until that 45 day mark to cancel. I think they want to see how much convention business they will truely have. Then they can see how many rooms to put up for discounts.
I think they are coming.... it will just be really close to the timeframe.

Then if we are all wrong......... well, I won't be getting that AP and I won't be planning a second trip this year. :confused3
So keep you fingers crossed. :wizard:

I am still keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!!! I am not even looking for an AP code as I got a CM discount but check this thread everyday to see if you guys got your code yet!!! But while I am on here I will ask has anyone ever bought their park passes from ticketmania? Are they the same as the ones Disney sells? Is the store close to Disney as we will be driving in from Canada so want to get them on the way in to Disney! thanks,

Talk about indecisive! We waited to reserve a room this year because we weren't sure if our schedules (and finances!) would allow us to go. I'd been checking for the AP codes every day now, and called last week only to have a really rude CM tell me that it was "a stupid move" to get an AP because there probably won't be discounts for June or July.

Well. I don't believe it, but I did get scared enough to book a room with the AAA discount at POR:RS with the MYW plus Dining package for 8/18-8/26. Then my DH got worried about hurricane season since we spent our honeymoon last October stuck in Mexico during Hurricane Wilma. He told me to cancel the August ressies even though we'd lose out on the dining package, and re-book for June-July.

This morning I booked 6/29-7/5 at POR:RS (6 nights) and 7/5-7/8 at AKL (3 nights) under the AAA rate. The CM said if AP codes come out, I could always apply them towards those rooms. We'd rather stay at AKL or WL the whole stay, but since the beginning of our trip is during Regular season, we'd have to pay those rates instead of Value, and the CM said there are no standard rooms available for that time period and length of stay.

So, like everyone else, we're really hoping for AP codes soon! And Southwest DING fares for June or July! :rolleyes1

Does anyone have experience switching resorts in mid-trip? How difficult is it to do? We love AKL and want to spend at least a few nights there, but if it's not worth the hassle, we can always switch to POR:RS the whole stay and save a few bucks.

I believe the CM discount that 5boyz mentions above stands for "Cast Member" discount. This is not available to regular customers.

We've done the resort switch thing. Our 1st trip we stayed 1 night @ CSR & switched to the Poly the next day (rate change). They transferred our luggage from our room @ CSR to our room @ Poly perfectly. The only slight catch was that our luggage couldn't be delivered prior to like 3:00 - 4:00 PM (check-in), so we didn't have "extra" clothes that day ....... and believe it or not, that's the day we actually needed extra clothes!!! oh well .......

We're doing the same thing again this year. We're staying 6 nights @ The Poly & switching to POR for our last night. Since it went so smoothly last time, I don't expect any problems!!! :teeth:

Now ......... come on codes!!! :cheer2:
Disney Disney - we're your fans
If you can't do it - No one can
goooooooooooo Disney!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Switching resorts is easy. We did it last time. The morning of the move, we finished packing and checked out of AS Sports and drove to AKL and checked in. Our room was ready for us. (We drove that trip). If you are not driving, just tell the CM at the front desk of POR that you will be moving to AKL. Bell services will transport your luggage for you. Take the buses to AKL and check in. They will leave a message on your phone when your luggage arrives. If your room is not ready, go to a park or something. You will have so much fun. AKL is our favorite resort also.

Every year disney does this. make you wait..and wait..and wait for the AP rates for your travel period to come out.

well its a "@#$&*%" JOKE !!!!!!!!!!

Andrea, believe or not, disney wants people like you and maybe others to go somewhere else ...more money for them. they get someone to pack rack rate instead of AP discount.

Last night I sent them an email explaining how crazy and idiotic this AP waiting game is. will it help...ABSOLUTLEY NOT. but at least my voice was heard..( or so i like to think so.)

my suggestion is this...email them and let them know how loyal you are.

Posting your frustrations on these boards is no use. only getting yourself more aggravated.

I used Ticketmania to purchases passes (14 day passes that had identical benefits of the former length of stay passes) last year. I keep my PAP renewed for the benefits and purchase hoppers (used to use LOS) for my family. They were identical to those offered at Disney EXCEPT Ticketmania still had the LOS option that Disney no longer offered. I don't think these type are even available any longer. We had absolutely no issues with the tickets AND I had them mailed to my home rather than pick them up. It worked so well, I purchased them again this year--10 day this time around. :woohoo:

The one caveat I would add to your post is that in 2003, the AP rates for May/June weren't released until 4/23/03! I'm not giving up hope yet. :rolleyes1

sanjoe....hey are you saying I am not regular!!!! I am as regular as they come!!! LOL!!!! Just kidding I thought that was cute when I read it!!! Yes it is for us non regular folk who knows someone that works at Disney. My friend has been there for 25 years and does the tours for the rich and famous!!!!

Tess....THANK YOU!!! The reason I am picking them up is because when you do it on your visa the exchange rate works out to be quite abit more than you think. That is where I got caught last year and now know better this year!!! But thanks for the advise. I'm a damn Canadian and have to take into consideration the exchange rate (even though it is good it still adds up when there are 6 people and big bucks involved).

Someone mentioned earlier that AP rates for deluxe resorts have generally been $100 off per night. For the dates I am looking at a standard view room at the Wilderness Lodge would be $228. Would it really only be about $128 if AP rates came out? That would be awesome but it sounds too good to be true because that is how much I paid for a moderate our last trip. Thanks for any clarification.

We went in 2003 and 2004 and used our AP discount. In 2003, we stayed at All-Star Movies in a preferred room in early April and paid somewhere around $69-$74 a night. In mid-February 2004 we stayed at Animal Kindom Lodge in a Standard Room (with a free upgrade to Water View when we got there!) and paid around $119 a night. We stayed for 11 days! It was hard to believe we were paying only $10 or so more than the rack rate of the Value resorts!

That explains why we're keeping our fingers crossed for the discount this year. There are no Standard rooms available at AKL or WL when we're going, but there are some Water View and Courtyard View rooms for part of the stay, so we're hoping to stay deluxe for a few nights! If I'm not mistaken, the moderate discount has been between $40-$66, so that would be great, too!

Wishing you luck and Pixie Dust!

:goodvibes

I have stayed at the WL with my Florida Resident discount and gotten $129, but that has been several years now...the last 2 years, I think I have paid $159 and $180

I love the Disney Desperate Housewives comic
THANKS :thumbsup2

Depends on the season. When the rates were $100 off for deluxe it was regular season, and therefore higher rack rates. Rates for July and August I believe last summer were $75 off.

However very few discounts were offered for standard rooms at WL and AKL and they went so fast.

The disney desperative housewife comic is great. I have it on my desktop!!!
