June/July/August 2006 Code watch

GEEEEEEZZZZZZ....I'm checking in June 9! :crazy2: I just missed the cut! I've never seen them group the AP dates that way, it doesn't normally cut off at June 3, it's usually the 4th of July. I'm so frustrated :headache:

You think you just missed it...we check in on June 4th! :rotfl2: Oh well, we'll keep truckin'.

Im starting to get tired of waiting, and checking, and waiting! :bored:

I plan on going in July, and i want to book a room now. I dont want to book at rack rate, i want a AP-rate.

Seems like Disney only releases AP-rates for a short time frame.

Disney, if you want my money, release AP-rates for a period of 4-5 month in advance, or you can :wave2: goodbye to my money. :stir:

OK - not to add any hardships :badpc: to this thread (I started) but...
If about 45 days out from 1st date of the discount period - AND
June is considered part if summer vacations for children in the Southern part of the USA, then a previous poster above would be correct for June-July-to mid August AP rates...
My best guess :yoda: would be mid-April (45 days back from June 4th) - hey wouldn't it be funny if WDW did it for tax day (April 15th) and give some magic pixiedust: back to their loyal customers ? :tink:

I just hope they don't skip any dates like they did in April.

Any one want to speculate as to whether the discounts will remain the same?

(Value $25; Mod $40 & Del $100 off rack)...I hope so.

We have the Poly for July 3-July 14 for way to much for a sane person so I will continue to wait and pray for the same discounts of $100 off. If we got the same discounts that would be sooooo nice! :rotfl  :

I hope you have your reservations in 2 connecting reservations. For the deluxe resorts, value season starts July 5. So I would do one reservation July 3-5 (at the regular rate) and then July 5-14 (at the value rate). If you have only one reservation right now, you are paying regular rate for all days.

Just an FYI. pixiedust:

We're going to be at POR from June 17-24 and then SOG June 26 & 27. I have a AAA discount, would really love to save more!

It should be interesting as someone posted somewhere...the deluxe season changes 7/4.

Is that how it works??? I thought that if you booked your first day of stay during the value season that the value rate carried through your entire stay.....or vice versa, if you book your first day of stay during regular or peak that would be the rate carried through your entire stay. Thanks for the information!!

True - but, the idea of 2 sep. LINKED res only works if the next Season is lower, i.e. Regular to Value in this case.

You have 2 res. but, request that they be linked (and you stay in the same room). Usually have to stop @ desk & "check-in" for next res. period. If not linked, you may have to check-out and move to another room.

I phoned today and got booked for Pop (I was hoping for ASMo) but also need POR and WL for dates after 3 June......the helpful lady I spoke to suggested the next set of dates is likely to be out in the next couple of weeks.

I wonder...who is to say that they won't release June at the beginning of March like in previous years. Here's hoping!!

It does work that way. The first day of your stay determines the rate. So, for example, if you were going to WDW for Christmas, you could check in on December 19 and get value season rates for your entire stay even though expensive Holiday Season begins on the 20th. So in this example, you save money. However the same is true if you book a stay where your first night is in Peak Season (beginning April 22, for example), you would be paying Peak Season rates for your entire stay even though Regular Season begins on april 23. So in this case you lose money.

So, what you can do to "get around" this second example is to make TWO reservations. Make one for the higher rate dates. Then make another reservation for the lower rate dates. You can ask to have them linked together so you will most likely not have to move rooms between the reservations. You will have to go down to the desk and check in and check out, so to speak. Get new keys and all. This is what I would do in your situation. If you are in a garden view Room at the Poly, your rate will change from $369 regular rate to $315 value rate - a savings of $54 for those last 9 nights.

To add to the linked ressies...we've done this almost everytime we've gone to WDW for various reasons and we've never had to move our room.

EEyorelover22, I like how you think! Yes, let's hope that they will announce the discounts for June/July in early March! How long ago did they do it that early? That would be great. Reading about the April-June 3 disct's has been killing me. We were suppose to go in April, until hubby insisted on June because of work (really he wants to lose weight before he goes).

Hiya,

We're booked at AKL from the 19th to the 28th of August. Fingers crossed! Can't wait but I'll be a lot happier with an AP code... :sunny:

Beth :cheer2:

I've never used a code before, but if I book a room now at a military rate (at S/D) and a code comes out that could save me more money would I be able to apply that instead of the discount I'm using at the current moment?

My problem is I don't know if my military rate will be a better deal than a code if one ever comes out for July. I just don't want to wait to long and not be able to get a room.

AP codes don't work at the S/D. You would have to cancel that reservation and rebook with Disney at a Disney owned property. I do know that the S/D has a discount for AP holders but it may not be as good as your military discount. You can check that rate online right now.
