June crowds

HI all!

We are going next June 12-17th. Our last trip was VERY off-season and we had WDW nearly to ourselves. So this will be a change.

Way "back in the day" before kids, DH and I went during spring break, and didn't mind the crowds too much. My question is, crowd-wise how does June compare to spring break?

I was worried about the heat, but after this summer, what the heck! Its been 90+ and WAY humid here in Ohio. you reach a point of just ignoring it!

much worse!!! but the heat isn't as bad as july or august.

We arrived this past June 15 (a Wednesday) for an eight night stay.
The crowds were manageable until Monday or Tuesday. It just exploded from that point on. We have been to WDW in June two previous times but have never seen crowds like we saw our last few days. We tried all the tricks of park hopping and fast passes but there were just too many people at all the parks. Luckily we got to do just about everything we wanted earlier during our stay so at this point so we were just re-doing some of the rides and attractions.
Although it has been hot everywhere this year DO NOT discount the heat in Florida. Make sure you drink water often, even if you don't feel thirsty.
It's easy to get caught up in the excitement and forget about the heat and humidity.

It was a bit of a shock for our family as well when we switched WDW trips from mid-January to June/July. What really works for us is to do our days "upside down": we sleep in at the resort, eat breakfast at the pool, swim, relax, and head to the park for our first meal PS say 12:30 or 1pm with our dinner PS for around 7. We close the parks down every night and get more bang for our buck in the last hour of the park than any other time. We do the airconditioned shows, shopping, and attractions in the heat of the day. And send our purchases back to the room or to the front of the Park for pickup (NEVER at MK, though). After dark is fabulous--we wouldn't change it for the world and our teen DS and DD love being able to sleep in every morning. It IS hot, so minimize your make up and hair. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and visors are the basics for us each day. I totally avoid jewelry and/or a high-maintenance hairdo. We use FP constantly and take advantage of any waits in line to just chat as a family. We Just LOVE It...back in WDW June 2006 :cool1: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:
