June comes before August & the APs will still be valid! I think we're done here!

I like those Eccos and like them in purple!!!

I got Yucatan in brown-I would have purchased black but they didn't have them in my size in the store.

I looked at the Yucatan at Nordstrom but they were $130. I didn't even try them on. The ones I ordered were only $52 and free shipping. There is an Ecco store in the Galleria, plus a store called The Walking Co. or something like that where they carry a bunch of Eccos. But none of those stores had sandals for $52.

Dillard's was doing a thing where you got a $15 gift card with any Ecco purchase, but I didn't see any sandals there that were that great.

I bought mine at the Walking Company. I told you I didn't like what I paid for them:laughing: I also paid a small fortune for shoe inserts but I do have to say they have helped my one really painful foot.

As far as I can tell, if I DO have a stress fracture, ice and rest seem to be what they suggest to fix it. No need to go get x-rays for that! So I guess at WDW I will ice my foot at night and take lots of Advil. I also can't figure out when I would be able to take off work to go have the guy look at my foot, so that played into my decision not to make an appt.

Did you get the inserts at the Walking Co.? Maybe I should try one. Just in the left shoe. :rotfl:

Yes. They have this machine you stand on and it measures the pressure points on your feet and then tell you which inserts you NEED. I should say I paid more for them than you paid for your Ecco sandals.:scared1: But we did a small hike on 4/11 and that week my foot was killing me. I was really freaking out about how I would handle Disney if a little 2 mile hike did me in. It was steep up big boulders but still. These inserts have helped a TON!!! They take the pressure off the ball of my foot.

I also spent another small fortune on a new pair of Saucony sneakers. They are the only brand that fits me at all. I ordered them online so at least I didn't go to the outlets and spend a few hundred dollars on other stuff there. The pair I wore on the hike were actually an older pair-I keep buying the same style so I loose track of how old they are (need to throw some of those away too I guess!!!!) so that is likely why my feet hurt so much after that but the inserts have really helped too. I don't know that I will actually wear the insert in my sneakers in the parks but they have helped wearing them in my work shoes. And I will have along just in case.

I had a stress fracture after one trip in the rain to Disney when my FIL was still alive. He was an orthopedic surgeon. Told me there was nothing that could be done.

I already have the ibuprofen packed!!! I have some in my Owner's Locker but I'll bring more with me too.

Hmm. Lots to ponder. I NEVER wear sneakers, so I can't imagine what sort of shoes I would put the inserts IN.

And really, I can't imagine what going to the orthopedic foot specialist would accomplish aside from costing me a LOT of money. I am certainly not going to let him cut my foot open and hammer a pin into the bone or some weirdness when I am 5 weeks away from a trip. It has been like this for a year, so I can probably handle it through another WDW trip.

DH looked at my foot tonight and he can see where it is swollen, but of course all that does is validate my claim that SOMETHING is wrong with it! :rotfl2: Besides, I had Crocs on today so it doesn't hurt that much.

DH tried on all 5 shirts I got him for the trip, so now I can stop pestering him. Not sure what else he might need. He likes to wait until the very last minute and spring it on me.

OK...I really am loosing my mind!!! I saw this shirt today and thought of you but then I could NOT find the email again. Turns out it was on my home email and I was looking on my work email....anyways only good til midnight or til sold out.....

That is SUPER cute! :thumbsup2
I happened to find a Jones T-shirt at Marshall's today for $12.99. Same exact shirt I ALMOST bought at Dillard's for regular price! I think I am up to 10 new shirts now, so I should probably stop. ;)

EDIT: Good. None of the colors I like are left in my size. That solves that!

5 weeks until departure!!

I think the wardrobe situation is well in hand. Not sure what else I need to do. :confused3 I have a lovely 25% off coupon for Macy's, so I might have to pop in there and see if there is anything else I "need".

Are you thinking of those Orthotics inserts? My dad just got some a few months ago after having foot problems since an accident in 2000. What an amazing difference for him!

I've been trip shopping lately too and just got the cutest skort from Athleta. I had to order from Gap.com anyway for my oldest (don't get me started about why doesn't Gap carry size 16 boys in the store:headache:) so I treated myself. I love the Athleta stuff and it is great for the heat.

Can't believe it is just five weeks for you!

I don't think I have ever tried anything from Athleta. Hmm...
DS is still in a size 12 at Gap as far as shorts. He is BARELY starting to bridge over into men's small T-shirts, but it depends on the brand. He likes his T-shirts to be long. If they aren't long he yanks on them, and that makes me crazy. :headache:

I saw on the Budget forum that a lady got Teva sandals (didn't say what style) at Dick's for $5, but our Dick's didn't have any good clearance shoes. They had an extra 50% off the clearance price but the only thing I saw was some shorts that I was too lazy to try on. I really don't need more shorts.

One of my friends is coming by tomorrow to pick up our donations for a charity garage sale, so I should be in my closet weeding out the stuff I want to donate! That will make more room for all of my lovely new acquisitions!

34 days until departure and it seems we have a new "toy" joining us for this trip.

DH has managed to become the owner of a new Nikon D90. Because the 4 dSLRs he already has weren't enough. Or something like that.:rolleyes1 In all fairness, the Nikon was free. A co-worker offered it to DH in exchange for DH covering a couple of his shifts. The problem is we have no Nikon stuff. DH has Sony stuff and Olympus stuff, but no Nikon stuff. This means the money pit that is camera stuff will magically suck up even MORE money! :headache: Don't you just love "free" stuff that ends up costing a ton of money after all is said and done?

I have decided the easiest way for DH to raise money for his new lens is to open up DS's closet to thrill seekers and charge admission. It is VERY scary in there! :scared: I found a pair of shoes this morning that should have been in the garage sale bag that was picked up yesterday. We did donate a fair amount of stuff, so now I can actually walk into the closet, but it is still quite frightening! I think we could have found more stuff to get rid of if we had more time.

I am trying to decide if I want to start ironing stuff for the trip. I HATE to iron. But some of the stuff I want to bring is so wrinkled that it will have to be ironed. SO do I mess with it now, or pack it wrinkled and face ironing it when we get there? Most of the time I just spritz stuff with wrinkle releaser, but these are advanced wrinkles. These wrinkles would just laugh at the spray.

So...any lens with the D90?

Could you was the wrinkles out?

I ironed 2 shirts to wear to work Mon & Tue and 4 yards of Mickey fabric. I was working on clearing off my cutting table but got tired. Almost done with that. I'm sure I'll get Joe's PJ shorts done and might make me some Mickey capri sleep pants to match.::MickeyMo

I got all the memory reformatted and am working on charging all the electronic toys and packing carry on.

DH bought me a cake yesterday so I guess we'll have that tonight.

The D90 came with some flimsy excuse for a lens - 35mm f/1.8, whatever THAT means. DH says it looks like it didn't come with any lens at all, so they added that one so whoever won it could actually use it. Not sure what his immediate plan is. Nikon lenses are quite pricey. :scared1:

It would be faster to just re-wash the wrinkled stuff. I decided to clean my bathroom instead of ironing. I would so love to hire a housekeeper! Maybe one of these days.

Mmmm! Cake! I love cake! Did you decide on a cake during your July trip? Or are you planning to wait and see what sort of cake I end up with in June? ;)

Maybe I will make my tip envelopes. While I wait for the dryer to stop.

I started working on tip envelopes but I'm having problems getting my Disney font installed properly on my new computer. Grrrr!

And I vote to not iron on vacation!

I just write "Thank You" on an envelope with marker and then add some stickers. I had some safari animal stickers from Dollar Tree that are cute for AKL, but now I can't remember what I did with them. Maybe I used all of them? Who knows. :confused3

Maybe I have 30 shirts that aren't wrinkled. That would rock. I really should have gone through my closet for the garage sale, but we decided to focus on the kitchen and DS's room instead. So now my closet is crammed, things that weren't wrinkled to begin with are wrinkled now, and the shirts I had sectioned off to designate as "WDW only" are kind of mixed together with my "at home" shirts. And my shorts are all VERY wrinkled. Not sure what was going on with that last load of shorts before it got cold, but they look like I put them away in a wad instead of folded flat. I have 3 weeks to sort it out, then I will pack. I might wash stuff again before I pack it. Or I might spray it and throw it in the dryer in the villa. Ironing will be a method of last resort.

The Packing Mandate states I must be packed in full for any WDW trip a minimum of 12 days prior to departure. That won't be a problem. I line the suitcases up in the hallway. Since the garage sale stuff isn't in the hallway anymore, I am clear for packing. :rotfl2:

Is it a Nikon lens? If it is I think it is the one I have. It is a nice lens.

No PJ shorts made today. I made the pattern and cleaned off the cutting but it was so hot here and the AC isn't in yet that I couldn't bring myself to make them.

I did get my carryon packed. I just need all my cards (AP, TiW, 1 day ticket to upgrade for Joe, Disney Visa reward card, .....). I also need to pack my laptop. I really hope it fits in the bag-I think it is going to be a tight fit. I could take another carryon so Joe & I would each have one plus a backpack but I don't know how I would handle the bags til I get the checked bag checked in.

OH...cake was good! I'll be scoping out the BW cakes when I'm there in May to get ideas for July.:thumbsup2
