The number of points required stay the same, but the cost of the points do go up (maintenance fee).Timeshare resorts are based on points used and that should NEVER go up. Each week/unit size has an affixed point value.
Also as this resort becomes more popular, it is becoming harder to fully maximize the discount and upgrades that are available to the Plat owners. They may not want to set a price this far out that assumes fully maximizing these i.e. they are passing the risk of not getting these in their pricing.
