We have tried to catch up on all the older postings to date. We can not recall reading of any discussion of a dis meet or a fish extender eachange?.. we are getting freezing rain and high winds tonight

I know this is a bit 'off-topic', and I also posted a message on our Facebook page.

For anyone that's a DVC owner in our group, I'm looking to take my son to Disney World this Fall (our FIRST onsite visit!) and would like to rent at a DVC onsite property. Can anyone advise what's the best way to rent from a DVC owner? You can send me a private message if that's better. I just don't know how to go about trying to rent at a DVC and thought that someone on here might know.

Thanks so much! :goodvibes

I don't know that anything has been planned yet? Usually it's set up a little closer to cruising I think..are you volunteering to do it? ;)

Of course I love all the Buffett inspired names...I'm glad we have fellow parrotheads on board no matter what our group name is. Maybe we should go to Margaritaville in Grand Cayman....

There is a Margaritaville in Grand Cayman?

The Margaritaville in Grand Cayman is my fav! It has a water slide and pool upstairs next to the bar! We can get our Margarita's on while the kids swim then walk back to the ship..

A couple of us mentioned a dis-meet and FE exchange right after we booked. I have not arranged any meets in the past, but I did organize the FE exchange on our last cruise. I am willing to put together the FE exchange list again, but that can begin closer to cruise time. The good part of booking so far in advance is you can be on the lookout for great FE stuff.:thumbsup2 Unfortunately the number of FE participants almost always increases exponentially :scared1: 1 month prior to sail, so you never know just how much "stuff" to get. :confused3

Are you serious, a waterslide onsite ? :woohoo: any age limits on it? must we be in "appropriate" attire? I'm thinking with enough tequila that would be hard to resist :rotfl2:

YEAH! Thanks for volunteering. I've organized the last two we've been on and I learned that it's better to post the FE about 6 months in advance with a cut off date about 60 days before the cruise just so that we don't have to stress about making additional FE gifts during the time that we should be packing! It's no fun stressing out about something like that when you should be getting excited to cruise!

I think there was a height minimum (my then 4 year old was tall enough but they made her wear a lifevest). Definitely no age limit- DH and I went on it a few times after watching the kids for hours. It is too much fun! (Oh and there was lots of free tequila shots going on the dance floor while we were there in the middle of the day!)

sounds like Margaritaville would be a good excursion. Where is it located in relation to where the ship docks.

So someone finally posted pics of what I think are the equivalent of our rooms and HOLY MOLEY our verandahs are HUGE!!!

We have two of the aft 6b Verandahs so two times this size?!

If it's true, we'd be glad to host a pre dinner mingle one night!!! GEEZ I can't get over the size!

It's an easy 3-4 block walk from the tender station. Last cruise it was so windy that we had to dock on the opposite side of the island but they offered free shuttles to all the fun places..

I haven't read through the entire thread yet but thought I would introduce myself to all of you.
We are booked on this cruise! "We" is myself, Sue, my DH, Jeff & our DS who will be 12 when we cruise. We switched over this is one after booking a dummy cruise while we were on the inaugural Wonder Mexican Riviera cruise in January. The discounts and OBC was great. We had done one cruise before in Jan 2008 on the Magic, Eastern 7 day but had not taken advantage of the booking.
Well, I have requested to join the FB group and now I am going back to read the rest of the thread.
Later! :hippie:

We go every year around Father's Day! But then we have a shorter travel time than you do, probably. This year we are staying in the Grand CA villas! Our 3rd time. :wizard: I am hoping for a room further up as we seem to get ground level. We are a little bummed that there will be a Grad Night our 2nd day there but we are working around it. :cool1:

I am so glad it has been sunny the last few days as I was thinking I wasn't living in California anymore. Word is that it will be a very warm summer. Better than cold, right?

Later,
Sue

Going to D Land today with the kiddos. It's been...gasp..A WHOLE MONTH and we are all jones-ing for our Disney fix :dance3:
I'm pretty sure that having passes is the only thing that keeps me from going off the deep end waiting for our next cruise!

I'll have to get dates from all of you who are coming out west this summer so that we can have a little mini-meet with you at D Land!:grouphug:

Enjoy Disneyland! :cool2: It should be a beautiful day. :cloud9:
