June 9, 2012 Fantasy

Today is the last day to sign up for the Last Minute FE Exchange. If you are interested, be sure to send your info to me via message by the end of the day to be included (just for info- we have 9 cabins, 17 adults & 18 kids as of this posting)..

Hi all...happy to have finally figured all this out. My wife and 2 kids will be joining you all on this. We are excited, its my kids' first cruise. I will be happy for the break after this tax season.

We have most of our excursions planned which is a miracle. We are most excited for the Dolphins in Grand Cayman. We never book through the ship and we found that Dolphin Cove has a great deal running so we couldn't pass it up. Its better than what they offer through the ship in my opinion. They have great reviews on Trip Advisor as well.

Whats everyone else doing?

We are thinking of booking Dolphin Cove as well. $100 for the Dolphin Swim with 1 free kid per adult is a great deal. How are you planning to get there?

They provide transportation to and from the cruise dock at 12 and return you at 2 included. You do need to reserve your time with a credit card for $15 you can go tot he turtle farm, but you need to provide your own transportation back.

Finally got our cabin numbers.:banana::banana:
We had 2 cabins Cat 7A Gty. Totally prepared to get one cabin at the aft of ship on one floor, and the other at the front of another floor. How wrong I was. We were assigned Cabins 6576 and 6574. Adjoining category 5D cabins midship.:dance3:

I had forgotten to ask about turtle farm! That price even with the extra $15 is still cheaper than the ship isn't it? We are doing the Encounter because my girls are little so its a great great price. Almost like a steal!

Awesome! I'm still waiting on our OGT cabins. I'm hoping we get as nice an upgrade as you did!

I just booked Dolphin Cove ( not the Disney one) for $200 for 2 adults and 1 child. They pick you up. We are scheduled for 12PM anyone want to join us?

We are booked for that same excursion. $200 for my DW, DD16, DS9, and DD9 (the two 9-year-olds were free). I didn't want to go in the water with the dolphins, but they said I could come along and that admission is free. They are just charging me $12.00 for the transportation. So for $212.00, we are all going (except DS18 who, based on past experience, will be far too busy with new friends to spend time with us).

I think there are others on this board (or FB) that are also booked for this. It is supposed to be far better than the dolphin place that Disney uses).

That's great news!

For a moment I thought your family was directly below us, I had to do a double take and look at our reservations and then the ship deck plan. However we're 1 floor up and 1 cabins over towards the middle (7582). Excellent rooms, you guys scored!

So happy to hear there will be others with us! My girls are so excited about this. I have heard that the facility is FAR nicer than the one that Disney uses...doesn't make any sense to me! And just from browsing the web...Dolphin Cove keeps their Dolphins in open water...the Disney place keeps them in a concrete pool...my wife didn't like that at all!

Come on folks, anyone else want to take this deal on too? The more the merrier!

We've already done the dolphin swim at Chankanaab in Cozumel and it was SO PERFECT that I don't want to do it again. I know that sounds stupid but my kids talk about it 4 years later like it was yesterday and if this one wasn't like the 1st experience it would ruin it for me, lol.

We fly out 2 weeks from today!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Us too, so excited! Any luck with your cabin assignment yet? On the DCL website they are only selling verandah rooms and higher so here's wishing for a great upgrade for you!

I don't know if we'll get an 'upgrade'. We booked OGT and it's my understanding that if you book a GT room you get EXACTLY what you booked: IGT get an interior, OGT gets an exterior, VGT gets a verandah. So realistically what we're hoping for is cat 8s which are family oceanview staterooms. But we certainly wouldn't complain if they put us in verandahs!

The GT categories all seem to be released/assigned 2 Mondays before each cruise. So... that means that this coming Monday I'll be constantly checking out DCL's site to find out what we got! Honestly, there is good and bad about anything we might get. If we get 9c or 9d we'll get one of the extra big rooms. If we get 9b or 9a, we're likely to get the connecting cabins we requested. If we get 8s, we get the bigger rooms.

So it's all good! :D

Hi all,

Checking back in. We'll be in Cape Canaveral 2 weeks from today!!

Trying to catch up on the last minute items, like arranging a one-way rental car from MCO to Cape Canaveral, and deciding at which area of 7-Mile Beach we want to be dropped off in Grand Cayman.

I also need to make custom journals for my kids. I did this on our MR cruise last year and they loved it. It's a little harder to find many pages customized for the Fantasy though.

Can anyone clarify the detective game on the Fantasy? Somehow I got the impression that the one on the Dream is called Mid Ship Detective Agency, and the one on the Fantasy is the Muppet Adventure, or something like that. Is that right or am I way off? I found a Muppet Adv journal page that I want to use if so.

Thanks!

We're doing the Detective Agency too! Here's some info...
