This will be our second Disney Cruise. We are superexcited! It will be my hubby, me, son (10), son (8), daughter (3) at time of sailing. I'm new to DISboards. Looking forward to getting to know everyone! Is this a fish-extender group?? That looks like a lot of fun!

Same here. We are doing Mayan. Waiting for Jamaica. Would like to do river tubing in Jamaica if they have it available

Wow! Your first Disney cruise, huh? Let me just say, that you won't want to cruise any other cruise line after this experience. You will LOVE it!...the year seems to be going by super slow! I can't wait!!

This will be our 3rd DCL cruise, 1st time on Dream, 2nd on Fantasy. Has anyone set up a Fish Extender group yet,- we're really interested in doing that, looks like tons of fun.

What exactly are fish extenders?

Fish extenders go way back.

A fish extender is a really cool and inexpensive way to give and receive treats for the duration of your cruise.

It's like a reverse Halloween if you will. Outside of your stateroom door there is a fixture where your stateroom will receive mail. The old ships have a "Fish", the new ships have seahorses, fish, and I believe starfish as well. What you do is you hang an "extender" kind of like a shoe organizer, from the fixture, and throughout your cruise you will receive a TON of goodies from candy, to toys, to my favorite, the homemade items

Participants usually like to accommodate to the ages and genders in the stateroom, that will all be in the "list" when the fish extender group is created. I am on your sailing, and it looks like there hasn't been a fish extender group that has been initiated as of yet. I guess we may still be too far out.

We are looking forward to this upcoming cruise! In my cabin it will be me, DH, DD14 and DD9 (at cruise time). We have many extended family members joining us too. Can't wait!

So I've read through this thread, and to my knowledge, nobody has initiated a fish extender group yet...

I would love to take the opportunity and initiate the group for our cruise!!

Lets get this thing going!

PM me if you would like to participate, and please include your stateroom# if not GTY status, your DISboards name, names and gender(in forms of DD, DS, DH, DW,etc) of people in your room(s), and ages of children...for example:

Stateroom 9103,9603 Ladyj0212(me), DH Daniel, DD(6)Delania, DD(1)Jessica

As the list grows, I will post the list from time to time of all of the participating staterooms with any updates or add-ons that I may get. Feel free to PM me if you make any changes to your stateroom or traveling party.

PM me with any questions that you might have as well. It's gonna be fun!

I have had a blast with the Fish extender exchange in the past...it feels so rewarding giving things to others, and its a bonus to get gifts upon arrival back to your stateroom...it's super fun, and I hope you and your family enjoy it as well!

I went ahead and added you and your family(per your previous post)to the FE list that I am putting together. Please PM me your family's names, as some participants like to customize their gifts...also, let me know if you have a stateroom issued.

Its gonna be a blast!!Can't wait!!

If you click on my vacation countdown, it should take you to a countdown creator page and you can customize your own. Or you can go to Distickers.com...as far as the trips, you can go to your profile on the DiSboards and go to the toolbar on top it says "user CP", if you click that then on the left you can click "edit signature".

So question re: fish extender- right now, we have two rooms directly across from each other. I keep hoping someone cancels one of the connecting partner rooms ...so I'm stalking daily. Do I just send the rooms we have now, and change them at a later date if we can get connecting rooms later on??

Yes, of course! I will periodically update the list and post it as more people sign up or change rooms. As our vacation draws near, I also plan on scheduling a quick meet for FE participants on embarkation day before the Muster drill to update my "master list" with any changes after the pay in full date, or for those who upgrade at port. I will most likely make printouts of the FE list for all participating staterooms. No worries on the staterooms, you can PM what you have now if you like. I will make the necessary changes later
