June 5th 2015 - Disney Dream - 3 Night

Hi, is anyone else sailing on the Dream from Port Canaveral on June 5th?

This is our first ever cruise and decided on a short 3 night cruise to try it out in the middle of our Disney World trip. I still haven't told dd's 12 & 15 about the cruise yet, I'm trying to think up someway to surprise them with it in a couple of months.

It's so exciting planning for something you've never done before. Is your son excited also? I haven't told my daughters yet but I know they will be super excited. I'm hoping they will want to go to the clubs but sometimes they need a little push

Surprisingly, I am more excited about it than he is right now. It seems so far away to him that he doesn't have the bug yet. I, on the other hand, have the Disney bug BAD! I can't WAIT!! Can't stop planning.. He can be a bit shy also, but if they have activities planned for the teens, he'll want to participate.

Hopefully, we'll have some more folks join in soon..

Absolutely!!

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS where FE began years ago.

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin. Other information you would like to share such as names, ages of child participamts, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, since no one seems to have come forward to organize a FE for this cruise here on the DIS, please feel free to start the FE right in this thread. There is certainly plenty of time to plan a FE for this cruise. All it takes is for someone to maintain a list of/for those participating which can easily be done in this thread. Many Cruise Meet threads have been doing it this way for years now here on the DIS.

I haven't read too much into Fish Extenders as I don't think our family will participate; we are travelling from Ireland with 3 weeks of luggage so don't think we would have room/weight for FE gifts going and to bring back. It does look like a lot of fun and if it wasn't just a small part (3 days) of our overall trip I would love to get involved

I'm sure if more people sailing on our date come on to this thread, there will be enough people to get a FE group going. Possibly someone who has done it before or who knows about it will organize it, if not I will certainly help with organizing it

We are at WDW for 8 days before our cruise and International Drive 9 days after so we are going to give the FE a miss but happy to go to a meet n' greet if there is something arranged.

Wow 3rd Disney cruise- how lucky are you! We are on deck 9 - aft verandah, hope we chose a good spot

@Dismamx2 -Nice! I am getting an inside room on deck 7. So excited to see the Magic Portal and getting to Castaway! Don't forget to send postcards form there-special post mark!! I'm staying a bit after the cruise-Theme Park trip! yes! I have to see how Universal did with the Harry Potter park, ride some coasters and reunite w/a WDWCP cast member! I'm looking forward to it.
I can't imagine getting surprised with such a trip! Your girls will be so excited!

I'm also an avid Pin Trader -- I love PIN night on the cruise! does anyone trade? I'm trying to make it out to the Aulani and get some extra pins.

We're staying 3 nights at Coronado Springs and 2 at the Polynesian. Gotta work like a beast now to pay for all of this. lol! I'm hoping we can take another cruise next year.

Ha ha! That's what Disney does to us; think we'll be happy/fine with a few days and then we think 'sure I'll add another few days'

We stayed at CSR a few years ago, beautiful resort. I think your ds will enjoy the pool area. Wow - the Polynesian will be fab

I'm traveling with a 6 year old girl, an 18 year old girl, and my 18 year old son. I would love to participate in the fish extender exchange (at least for the girls). I traveled on the Magic 4 years ago with my daughter and we wondered what those "things" were on the door and why were these passengers so special..... Now I know and I can't wait to do the same. I've already purchased my fish extender from etsy and wanted to know how to get started....
