we are looking to come to disneyworld june 5 for a week or more. 2 adults 4 kids(including 2 teens) how can i rent points? how can I know if there is availabilty that week or any points. new to all of this.

Hi Sue, :flower:
First is you need to get an idea of where you want to stay and what in. Couple of Studio's, 2 bedroom so that you would have a kitchen etc. The 2 bedroom would be my safest bet you would have full kitchen and w/d. At the top of the page there is a Point chart so you can know about how many points you will need. Then come back with how many points and if it matters where you stay at Disney. The person that you are renting from does the availibility work for you.

Take care and keep reading, :cheer2:

i'm figuring this out. yes we would need a 2 bedroom and i see for some resorts its 30 a night until the weekend. i would have to see what other alternatives we would do for the weekend. how much availability is there to get into these condos at the beginning of june anyway? anyone know? is this even feasable?

Wincha - some people (including a lot of DVC members) choose to stay somewhere else on the weekend - on cash instead of DVC points. That is because (as you have noticed) the points are much more expensive on weekends. When I have done this, I prefer to start off my trip on the weekend, THEN move into the 2BR unit. Just makes the trip more pleasant. Some people like to stay at Universal that weekend to get Front of the Line access at Universal's parks, stay in a value resort at Disney to save money, or even stay offsite to save. The beginning of June at this point might be tight, because schools are letting out at that time, but you never know until you try. OKW is the largest resort right now (Saratoga will be when finished), so chances might be better there rather than some of the smaller ones. To find out, figure out your exact dates, post your preferences here and someone will check for you. Enjoy!

arriving june 5 or 6 and will stay at disney until the rates go up (any availabilty in the condo disney then? for 2 bedroom) which i think is friday? i know my kids get out a week earlier here than other schools. i am pulling my youngest out of school a week early. where would you suggest we stay at universal for that weekend?

Post your exact dates that you are interested in, and someone who has points to rent can contact Member Services to check availability. Points usually go for around $10 per point, sometimes more, sometimes less if they are expiring soon. That includes everything - meaning there is no tax. Hotel taxes are around 12% added on top of the price of the room, so renting is a real bargain. You need to specify your dates, and the size villa you want, and the resort(s) you are interested in. As for Universal, they have 3 hotels on site, which is what you would want in order to get the "Front of the Line Access". They are Portofino Bay, Royal pacific, and Hardrock Hotel. All very nice. Pricey, but sometimes you can get a discount like AAA. Good luck, and have fun planning!
