June 5,2010 Relocation Cruise

sounds like a great idea, things are so expensive over here compared to some of the bargains you can get in the US.

you're right, i was the one with the purple dress. i dont wear dresses, the last time i did was 4 years ago when we got married. thats the only one i saw that i liked enough and was dressy enough for formal night.

Hi everybody,

we searched some information about the DCL and we have found your forum !

we are belgians and it's the first time for us on a disney cruise!

We hope to see all of you on the ship and do new friendship coming from all over the world.

kind regards

Jonathan and Julie

Oh my...... apparently there are no Mickey Bars on board. I cannot tell you how gutted DH IS!!! And so will DD be when we tell her :scared1:
I'm annoyed with myself because we've been going on and on about having Mickey bars after dinner and from room service to the kids.
Naughty DCL not knowing we were coming!

Still....i'm sure we'll get over it!!

Welcome to Jonathan and Julie :goodvibes

Susan:)

Hello and welcome. If you have questions feel free to ask. Most of us have cruised before on DCL.

hi jonathan and julie!! welcome to our friendly meet thread!!

Oh my...... apparently there are no Mickey Bars on board.

where did you hear this?!! i guess all those previous med cruisers ate all our mickey bars. not fair, they should have shared!!

7 days to go til the dis hits the novotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are maybe using a different food supplier that can't stock the Mickey Bars? I hope they still have the turkey legs on Pirate Night. I love those. (My dirty little secret.)

Adrianna

they have turkey legs on pirate night?!?!?!
gary loves these, and i never knew they did these on board, then again i've only ever done 3 nighters so i dont know about the different buffets and stuff!

Yep, turkey legs on pirate night, at least in 2008.

What do the electricity plugs look like in the UK? In Spain? Our Int'l cell phone arrived with a couple of adaptors, so I may not need a universal if we're covered.

Adrianna

uk are a 3 pin, rectangular prongs, laid out kinda like a triangle, with the one at the top being larger than the other 2.

european ones are round pronged 2 pin plugs.

and that concludes our first class of "european plugs 101" :rotfl:

i will warn everyone though, that our voltage is around 220v, US voltage is around 110v. be careful to check the labels on anything you intend plugging in over here, to make sure it can handle 220v, otherwise you might end up blowing it up. not good if its something expensive like a laptop. the only way to avoid this is to use a voltage converter, but they can be expensive.
plugging stuff into the outlets on the ship wont be a problem though as it runs on US voltage.

Hi, Is anyone going on this cruise a professional photographer? I would love to get some professional photos at one of the ports.

Thanks!

Cool. Thanks Karen. Those are the two adaptors that they sent. My laptop has a switch that allows it to charge on 220V, so I'm covered there, too.

Just need to stop by the travel store for a few under the clothing money belts for Spain and we're set. I'm heeding the warnings about excessive pickpocketing in Barcelona just to be on the safe side.

i dont really planning on being out with much money in barcelona anyway, planning on going straight to the hotel and leaving it there locked in one of the suitcases. dont plan on buying anything in barcelona apart from lunch, we're going back to spain 4 weeks after the cruise anyway!

Hi

Thought you may like this for your door.......

Jordak on the Magnets Boards has done it for us. Be great for the door.

Hope you are all well. Not done a thing today, been at school doing stuff as it was the last day of term, so lots of fun.

Had great intentions to clean the house and sort out clothes, but hey, lifes too short!!!

Have a great evening.

Kate

looks great kate, going to have to go buy some more magnetic paper now!
i've actually managed to get quite a lot done today, which is good as i'm at work all day tomorrow :(

We picked up my daughter from Frankfurt Airport this morning. She flew in from Alaska. Officially 1 week to cruisin!:cool1:

Greedy Dis'ers!! :sad1::sad1:

Note to self-book an early med cruise next year to avoid Mickey Bar disappointment :rotfl:

This time next week, i'll be running round the house like an idiot, packing things I really don't need and arguing with DH for running late! I can't wait!

They didn't have the Mickey Bars in the summer of 2007 either. They still had a Mickey Ice Cream though that they got (I think) from the same supplier that supplies DL Paris. But I didn't like them at all. Like the real thing!

The turkey legs on the Med in 2007 were smaller. The turkeys must be alot smaller in Europe. They were about half the size of the ones we usually get.
