Hi

Its K8T's sister,
The hotel chain I use when in London for Medical appointments is

http://www.shaftesburyhotels.com/

Park Grand Paddington.
Shaftesbury Premier Paddington
Grand Royale Hyde Park
Hyde Park Premier

I have stayed in all of these, However do check the prices on the website. and then call them and ask for best price,

Sounds like we have a whole Texas party going on too! That deserves a big
YEEEEEHAAWWWW
Our plan is to do the direct flight from DFW to CDG (spending a few days at DLP) then on the way home taking the direct LHR to DFW. Hopefully they will be all done striking by then...or at least BA keeps their one LHR/DFW operating. If not then all those people will be pushed on to one of my three AA possibilities to get home. BUT, I am not worrying about that. It is something outside of my control...

Alrighty then....I am off to see Melissa Gilbert in a new musical version of Little House on the Prairie. I hear she can't sing a note, so it should be interesting.

i've got a FE, but i'm toying with the idea of making a new one. not sure if i've got the time though?
i'd love to see a photo of yours if you dont mind sharing?

We have a brunch at Palo June 10 at 10:30 am. Anyone is welcome to join us in the delicious feast, that would be fun. You might have to add this once on board, we booked it a couple months ago.

Are any of the adults celebrating a birthday or anniversary on the cruise? My husband is celebrating a birthday, I was thinking of organizing a drink tasting or poolside happy hour for any celebrations.

We have had a few celebrations on the cruise with the disney cake and song, but I think it is time to bump it up a notch.

Jill

We wanted to do a Palo brunch and/or tea but there are no reservations available online. Hoping we can get into one onboard.

This Saturday (May 22) is our 16th Anniversary and May 31st is Dwight's birthday; so if everyone else is counting belated celebrations then count us in too

We leave in a week and my job is always an unknown, so we tend to plan well ahead.

That is a kewl bag, very mod.

Also a very nice fish extender, well done, I just asked Lynn and we will have an original fish extender with us.

Mayy 22nd is our 4th anniversary. We had a Disney Wedding.

I love your FE & your bag!!!!!!!!!!

loving the FE, and your DH has no say in this, that bag is cute!

kt27, i knew i knew your username from somewhere, i used to be on the wedding boards a lot, 2005 wedding pavilion bride here!

Good afternoon everyone.

Hope you are all well. I am afraid the 'you know what' has been kicking off over here. OH was at work until 2am last night, due to part of British Airspace being closed,

I am concerned about the holiday, as his brother is off to Cyprus on the 25th May (which is why we couldn't do the Med 26th cruise), and OH said today if his brother doesn't get back due to the 'you know what', then we wouldn't be able to go, as they can't have both of them out of the company for more than a few days!:scared: I did say that I would go with dd on my own, but fingers crossed none of this happens.

DesperatelyDisney, I love the bag. My sister (Jks), would adore it, anything Leopard print she goes for!! In fact DD spots things now and says 'Auntie J would like that'! At least you won't lose it an an airport! I also like you FE, the Mickey Pirate is great.

I have started looking at Ports of Call - only got to Gibralter though - I don't want to rush things :rotfl: We we have been to several times, so was looking for something different and saw the Dolphin Watching Trip. However, on pricing it up, Disney are charging $59 a person and yet it is only $29 - £20 if you book it direct! OK it isn't on a huge boat with a bar and toilets, but it is the same company, so safe and adhere to regs., on one of their other boats and the trip is only an hour and half anyway, I could cross my legs that long!!!! It is a walk, or short cab ride away from the ship, so no waiting to get on a bus with the hoards. Seems like a plan.

Give it another week and I may get around to Cadiz! although we loved just wandering here.

Karen - I am not sure that Essex jokes will translate very well, but I know what you mean about theming!

Yensid - How was Melissa Gilbert? I used to love that programme when I was small, I wanted to be her!!!

So Celebrations:

Scott's - 30th Wedding Anniversary

Jgura - Rob's Birthday

Desp. Dis. - 16th Wedding Anniversary
Ditto Dwights Birthday

K8T - My Birthday

KT27 - 4th Wedding Anniversary

Only need one more and we can have a celebration each day!!

Any advances.....?

Kate

Thanks, guys! At least I know I'm not crazy for liking it.

The FE took me forever because I have never made pockets before. For some reason, I had a total mental block about them and forgot to allow for a pleat/extra width when I cut them out :confused3

May 22nd is our 4th anniversary. We had a Disney Wedding.

That's soooo neat! No Disney wedding, but we had a Disney honeymoon :woohoo:

Melissa Gilbert was not all that bad. I don't expect her to have a new career as a singer, though. The show was interesting...I think with some tweaking and a new director it could work. It was directed by Francesca Zambello whom you may know because she directed Aladdin: A Musical Adventure at Disney's California Adventure and The Little Mermaid on Broadway. So, there was plenty of her required moments of looking longingly out toward the horizon. I am just not a huge fan of her direction. I always thought that Aladdin was missing "something"...I hear that Mermaid was missing "something"...and I feel that Little House oTP is missing "something". I sense a pattern.

Anyway, we got a good amount of FE stuff done this weekend but still so much to do!

And That-Which-Not-Be-Named needs to be defeated!

I'm just about packed for me and the kids! DH still needs to be packed, which I'm sure he will do it the morning we leave:rotfl: Our trip begins this Friday afternoon when we fly to Paris. Then off to Barcelona by train on May 25th. Still have a very busy week so glad at least the major trip things are done! We have planned no excursions for this trip, nor have I done any reading about the ports either! :scared1: Think I'll just use guest services to get advice. Would love to see some authentic flamenco dancing but not using DCL. Anyone know of any place in or near Cadiz maybe?
My DD keeps asking about any teen girls on board. She is in high school - going into 10th grade. Hope she finds someone to buddy up with. We linked our dining for the May 26th cruise with another family with teen girls. She has been emailing a few girls on that cruise for a few months now. :goodvibes

Got you added to the list (see post 359). Welcome!

Many thanks YenSid1222!

Just a quick clarification, our last name is Gawlak, my user ID sgawlak.

Just a quick question regarding the FE gifts, should I purchase one gift for each individual within each stateroom, or is it multiple gifts for each stateroom?

Do I deliver these gifts anytime while we are on the cruise, or is there a time and place we all meet to distribute?

I apologize if I am being repetitive in asking these questions, but any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.....Sinthia

You can do your FE gifts however you please. One per cabin...per person...whatever.... I usually some cabin gifts and a something for each child (since kids like to have their own STUFF, ya know!)

You can distribute when you like. I will have the complete list of cabins for you and all you do is go to each cabin and put stuff in their Fish Extender. I always try to be "covert" so it is a surprise when you find something waiting. On my last cruise I only ran across someone else making rounds once.

The main thing to remember is that there are no "rules". It is what we make it to be and that can be anything. Honestly, my first cruise I wasn't quite sure how it all worked but we all just had a good ole time with it. :cool1:

I haven't done this before either!! So was asking exactly the same :confused3

Eventually I decided to do one thing for the cabin (as most are couples anyway) and do a couple of 'drop offs' for the children during the week.

I just am not sure how to parcel them, should they/it be in a bag, or just loose, or tagged? Not got my head around that bit yet!

Would childrens party bags be OK?

Kate,

I am using clear party bags and putting our name in there somewhere and tying them shut.

The clear type bag is a very popular option for being able to contain things and put your name on it as well. We will be making a simple label that says it is from us...but I don't want to tell you too much or it won't be a surprise!;)

I seem to remember some threads here where people took a picture of everything they received. You might do a search and get some ideas...I seem to remember that was what I did the first time around.

Just popping in for a quick "hello!" Have had a hectic, but lovely wekend celebrating James' 3rd Birthday. We were very lucky with the weather tahnk goodness so his party wasn't rained inside. It's so much easier entertaining when you can do it in the garden!

Just wanted to day a big thank you to Karen for arranging the Novotel bus, will paypal tomorrow if that's ok? My router has broken so no wireless for me-it means I don't have my laptop to use.

18 sleeps until we leave for Barcelona!

Susan:)

Just got my cabin #. Booked a cat 12 GTY on Saturday, got assigned #5506, a cat 8 on Deck 5 forward :dance3: Kids will be happy with the porthole! And now only have to move down 3 decks from the Med cruise! :rotfl: Does anyone know how they handle luggage when you are doing back to back cruises?
I added trip insurance for the new cruise today, have booked and confirmed my 3 night stay in London. Have no plans for what to do yet. Will probably get train tickets back to London the morning we arrive. I have so much to do before we leave in 4 days! :scared1:

Hello All,

I will try to get a group Palo reservation for brunch on June 10 at 10:30 am.
There is room for 9 more individuals (we need 7 more)
I need your full name and cruise reservation number via PM

I will take names in the order received and get back with you.

Remember the brunch is $15.00 per person, well worth it, and you can only have brunch once. If they do not have 10:30 available I will still try for the same day different hour.

Looks like we have many celebrations, we have an anniversary on May 23 too. Thanks for listing them all Kate.

Jill
