June 5,2010 Relocation Cruise

mine came too!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

What do you think of the iPad cover? Debating whether to get one or not...
I like it, I have also ordered a screen protector, invisashield is the brand, Traveled with the iPad last week without cover was nice, the apple cover can also be a stand, and that I like over the others

Invisashield protectors are great, I have it on all my gps units.

Hey Guys!

Please don't think bad of me :(

I just found out that I will have to be out of town for work for a couple of weeks right before the cruise....so....I guess I need to be taken off the FE list :( I know my limits, and getting everything together, plus getting FEs done that I would be proud of while being gone alot right before the cruise, is past those limits. In addition, we have decided to limit ourselves to only one carry-on each so I think we are going to be pretty cramped for space.

I hope you can all understand. I figured it would be better to bow out now than later when everyone has gotten further along with their gifts.

MMM

you dont have to have a fe to be part of the group. dont let that stop you joining in and meeting us all. We are there to enjoy the cruise and each others company and its that that is important:thumbsup2

Yes - what Pappy said!

I can't remember if we originally signed up on this thread or not, or what the plans are, because I've been spending my time on the June 12th thread.

Anyway, Jamie and I got assigned our stateroom for this cruise and we are in 6067 and actually, we are in the same stateroom b2b for both cruises.

We won't arrive on the June 5th until June 7th though. Jamie graduates from high school the evening of June 4th, so we can't get to Barcelona on time.

We are flying to London on the 5th, then connecting to Gibraltar and will be spending Sunday evening at "The Rock" hotel in Gibraltar and will be taking pictures of the Magic arriving Monday morning. If you are on deck 10 I'll try to use my zoom and get some pictures of the ship as she comes in!

Hopefully, I can get some great pictures of the ship.

So, I won't be able to deliver my FE gifts until after Monday the 7th!

Linda - glad to hear that DVC worked with you on this! We will look forward to seeing you at Gilbralter - and we will, I am sure, be some of those on deck 10 as we dock - at least Scott will be if it is early morning!

Morning :goodvibes

Lynn, I see you are 'Walker of Malumutes', can I ask, do you have any? My OH is deperate for one, but I am not sure they are the dog for us - saw a beautiful Huskymute puppy the other day....oh dear, we have two dogs already!

Kate

Kate - we have 2 malamutes! They are definate not the dog for some - they shed terribly - have a very independent nature - and are prone to wander long distances if not corralled - and generally do not play well with other dogs unless very well socialized - but we love them. We love their personalities!

We are working on packing, not long now!

Have a great week all!

My last paper is handed in, last test taken for the year. I'm officially finished with my first year of graduate school. I finally have time to think about my vacation.

:banana::banana::banana:

Any other ideas, further afield, let me know. I travelled the length and breadth of the UK in my job, so know it very well! Everywhere is pretty near compared to the States, the whole country is only 700 miles long!

Kate

I can see that I will need several hours of your undivided attention before we disembark popcorn:: Good thing you're basically right next door :)

Going to look now....it makes me nervous to have that screen unprotected....especially considering that it is Dwight's - the forester, hunter, boat builder - and he is incapable of keeping anything out of his truck or a boat.

Hello Everyone!

Haven't posted in a while...just opened a local production of ANNIE and have been in rehearsals every night last week. ANYWAY...Fish Extender list on page 17 has been updated! Disneymom7851 tells me our documents arrived last week although I have not actually seen them myself.

It is starting to hit me that I still have A LOT to do! June is only a month away...

Here is a list of ships we will be in port with:

Barcelona:
Crystal Serenity
Crystal Symphony

Gibraltar:
None

Cadiz:
None

Lisbon:
Celebrity Eclipse (brand new ship that just did her maiden voyage a few days ago)

Dover:
None

I am in WDW , If any of you know where I can get the things K8T needs in this area can you tell me where to find them,

K8T, I am looking but you know me and arty crafty things, I don't even know how to sew a button on!

Hi everyone, i can't believe i only just found this site after all these years!
My family and I are big Disney fans and have visited all the resorts around the world over the years. My father & I took a 3 day cruise in 2008 and are booked on the barcelona to dover cruise with my sister. I am getting soooooooooo excited, have my last uni exam on thursday and then its just 4 weeks of work till the cruise, yay! Like most of you (it seems) we booked a category 12 stateroom but have been upgraded to a category 9, i can't believe it, it was so unexpected.

In response to the quote below:

So, I don't remember if this was posted or not and I couldn't find details on the DCL site...but, here is some cruise info:

Night 2 - Formal Night
Night 5 - Pirate Nightpirate:
Night 6 - Semi-Formal Night

Also, there are no fireworks on the Northern European cruises. The phone rep seemed to think since we were "going to Northern Europe" that we would also not have fireworks. But night 5 should put us still in the Atlantic just outside of Lisbon...so, who knows? :confused3

On a separate thought, what do the call the Pirate party in Europe? It is "Pirates IN the Caribbean" normally...but obviously we will not be "IN" the Caribbean.

I emailed disney back in january after they announced no fireworks for the northern european cruises and this was the reply i received.

"Dear Craig,

Thank you for choosing another Disney Cruise Line vacation!

I am happy to assist you!

We will have The Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party on your 7-Night
Repositioning Cruise from Barcelona to Dover. Currently, it is scheduled
for the 5th night. This is the night we have the fireworks display.
The use of fireworks is based on appropriate weather conditions and may
not be offered on every cruise.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical Day!"

so fingers crossed we will have fireworks

Hi

Thanks for looking, they are iron on characters, usually embroidered, I don't know if there is some sort of 'hobby' shop that they are in, but don't worry, don't waste time looking around too much, but if you go to a mall, keep an eye out. Thanks

Have a great time

Kate

Good Afternoon everyone.

My sister is in WDW at the moment (as you may have guessed by the post from JKS) and says it is in the 90's, well today in the UK it feels like winter again! AND......the volcano is doing its thing once more!!! Everything crossed that it doesn't get worse again.

Lynn, I feel you are right about the Malamutes, hence my reluctance (I am actually a dog trainer/behviourist for my sins), so know a little bit about the breed, although they are not as common over here. I am going to have to get you to talk to OH about the pitfalls, so he doesn't just think it is me being a killjoy!

Yensid, best of luck with Annie, I love that show - I actually held auditions for 'Sandy' for a production in York a few years ago and then trained the two dogs that were picked. Break a leg!

Hi to it398, excellent about the upgrade, lucky thing! good to see the UK contingent is getting a little bigger ;).

Getting into cruise mode now, bought two new 'duffel' type bags on wheels yesterday to try and reduce weight, although it may be used up by a travel iron!!! Do you know if there are ironing boards in the laundry rooms?, or how much is it to get things pressed?

Oh and forgot to say Adrianna, Cadiz is pretty walkable, and is practically flat, so no tiring hills! I agree being on a bus for so long isn't great with kids.

We generally get a cab if there is something we really want to see. If there are a few of you it can work out a lot cheaper and you are not waiting around and can stop and get out when you want. Last year in Cadiz, we did the Hop on Hop off bus for a good overview, had a little walk around the town and then went to the beach (the only beach stop in 17 nights of cruisng around the Med, we were well ready for it!)

Funnily enough dd still remembers losing a little plastic Tigger on the beach and is asking if we can go back a look for it!!!

Yes, there are ironing boards in the laundry rooms, free to use. I use them on every cruise. I have also sent out items for pressing only. It is half the price of the laundry price. I have used them for formal dress and tux in the past, easier than doing myself and they show up the following day in the closet, it's Disney Magic!

GREAT info to know. Thanks for posting...I have been wondering how I was going to pull off not looking wrinkled for the whole cruise. It is much easier with just the short hop to Orlando.

We also bought the rolling duffle bag to try and get weight down. Man, I really have to get all this rolling!!

And nice irons if I remember right... so need for a travel iron.

Finally received our baggage tags. No upgrade, but I wasn't really expecting one. Still, the balcony rooms booked are pretty sparse. Lots of midship 4's and 5's still available. You'd think they'd compress us all somehow rather than leaving us scattered about.

Hi Everyone,

I hope trip planning is going well for everyone! My apologies in advance, but I am going to have to bow out of the FR. We were notified earlier today that our department is being downsized (i.e. eliminated) early next year. Thankfully, that means we will still have time to try and find new positions. However, things at home, and at work, are quite chaotic. This was completely unexpected, and, I doubt that I’ll have the time or the energy to do the FE. I am VERY sorry for the late notice!

Hi Karen, welcome aboard!
I was a cast member in the Disney Store in Meadowhall(Sheffield) for seven years but left a few years ago. I actually really miss it - I think thats why every holiday I take revolves around "The Mouse!":earsboy: and why my house has more Mickeys than the Disney Store:mickeyjum good job I have a very understanding (or is that long suffering:rotfl:)husband.
I'm sure it's not too late to join in the FE just PM your details to Yensid1222
