Is there anyone out there going on the 4 day Wonder with us?
We are 2 families traveling together, kids are aged 6,10, 8 and 15, all boys.

Yes, we're going too! It will be our 1st cruise ever (though we have been to WDW many times and love it!) I have boys who will be 7 and 9, so maybe our kids will meet up.

There will be 4 families in our group:

Me, DH, DS9, DS7 and DD3
My sister, her DH, DD2
My brother, his DW, DS7 and DD3
My mom and her husband

Have you been on a cruise before? Will your boys be going to the Kid's club? What cabins are you staying in?

Sharon

This will be our second Disney cruise, we are working ourselves up to a 7 day in 2006.
My DS(8) LOVED the kids clubs. The only time we saw him was at dinner. Then our server knew to bring him his food as soon as he sat down and by the time we got our salads, he was gone!
The friends we are traveling with have never been on a cruise so we are all looking forward to it.
Both families are staying on deck 2. And we have first seating for dinner.

I am so glad to hear someone else from the boards will be on our cruise!!

I'm glad to hear your son liked the Kids club. I think my older son will love it. He will turn 9 right before the cruise and is very friendly and outgoing, so I have a feeling he will want to spend a lot of time there.

I'm a little nervous about my younger son. He will be 7 when we cruise, and he's a little shy and does not make friends as easily. I really hope he enjoys the club, because my DH and I rarely have time alone together, so we're counting on the kids going to the clubs at least a few hours a day.

My daughter is 3 and she will talk to anyone, so I imagine she'll march right into her club and tell us to leave.

We have the early dinner seating too!

All the families in our group are on different decks. We're on Deck 8 because it's the only place they have those "Family Suites" that hold 5 people. Of course, now that I've been reading the forum, I've learned that it might have been less expensive to book 2 connecting rooms on a lower deck...live and learn!!!

I'm so excited I can hardly wait. Our cruise is a Christmas gift from our parents, and I've always dreamed of taking a Disney Cruise. I can't believe we actually get to do it!

Are you going to Disney World at all before or after your cruise? Will you drive or fly in the night before or the day of? We're coming from Cincinnati, OH, so we fly in the day before and we're going to stay at the Radisson at the Port. We learned about it here and it looks really neat.

The June 5th Wonder cruise will be the first one ever for us and we are all very excited about it. DH and I will be travelling with our four kids--DS (11), DS (8) and twin DD's (3). Our vacations have been seriously limited since the twins came and we were looking for something where we all could have fun! The boys can't wait to see the kids areas and Castaway Cay and our girls are pretty outgoing so I know they will join right in. We are leaving Dayton, OH as soon as school gets out on the 3rd and will be staying at the Radisson also (night of the 4th). Can't wait!

We live on the north side of Ciccinnati so we're flying out of the Dayton airport. We have a direct flight early in the morning on the 4th on Airtran. I'm planning on spending the whole day by the pool with my dd. (My DH might take the boys to see the Kennedy Space Center.)

Maybe we'll see you by the pool at the Radisson. My dd is 3 too...so if I see twin 3 year old girls, I'll know it's probably you! : )

I was looking for a place to stay on the night of the 4th close to the port. Do either of you have a link for the Radisson?
We will be driving down from NC, and should get there early Sat. afternoon.
After the cruise we have 3 nights booked at Shades of Green at WDW.
Hopefully time will go by quickly.....

Sharonk--I am hoping we will get in early enough to get in some pool time at the Radisson but since we are driving who knows what time we will get in. Your guys will probably love Kennedy Space Center! We went in June 2001 (pre-twins!) when my boys were 4 and 7 and were all amazed. My guys will probably go the day we return to port--I hear you actually get back and disembark fairly early? The girls and I will spend the day at the beach as I don't think they would enjoy KSC. We had originally planned to spend a few days at a beach cottage near the Cape but they were damaged in the hurricane last summer :sad2: so we need to find a new place. I guess I better do that soon or we'll be sleeping on the beach!

Bethipooh4--Here are some links with hotel info:
http://www.radissonport.com/
http://www.dcltribute.com/lodging/
The dcltribute site has listings of hotels in the area with pros and cons.
Maybe we'll all be hanging out poolside on Saturday! It sounds like we all have kids of similar ages.

Thanks for the links, we are definately planning on staying there. Looks the the other family we are cruising with will be cancelling their cruise, so it will just be us. We are also planning on doing the KSC after we get off the ship, then going over to Shades of Green at WDW to stay for a few days.
We also we able to change decks and switched from a Cat 9 to a Cat 5 on deck 7. First time we will be in a verandah room, I am so excited. :Pinkbounc

I know....I'm excited about the verandah too. We've never cruised before, so I'm sure we're going to be spoiled with the verandah.

Shades of Green looks very nice, especially with the renovation. You must be excited to be staying there!

Sharonk

My family and i will be going on this cruise as well! It our first cruise ever and were really excited! My parents gave it to us as a christmas gift and were from cincinatti too!

littleB07,

What a coincidence! I'm not sure if I mentioned it before, but our cruise was a gift from parents too! : )

Do you have any kids, and if so, what are their ages?

What part of Cincinnati do you live in? We're on the NorthEast side of town, in the Sharonville area.

This is cool, our little group is growing!!!!

I didn't even know SOG existed until now, and we have been in the AF for 20 years...lol
I saw some pictures of it, and it looks so nice.

Actually, I'm a teen and my dad told me about these forums becuase he comes on them alot and i just started coming on them. I have 2 sisters who are 11 and 12 and a brother who will be 15 in Feb. and I'm 15 and we live in Fairfield. We are leaving June 3rd and staying at Wilderness Lodge one night then leaving the next day to the cruise! I'm so excited this is our first cruise!

I have a son who will be 15 on the cruise with us. And another son who will be 9.

I'm so glad there will be other kids my age on the cruise becuase i was a little worried i didn't see any posts about this cruise! Have you done any excursions in Nassau or Castaway Cay that you would recommend to do or ones that you didn't enjoy? Did your son do the excurisons for teens on Castaway Cay, i think its called the Wild Side, and did he enjoy it if he did do it? :D

Hi guys!
My husband & I are going on this cruise, & also our daughter & husband & their (by then 1 & 1/2 year old) daughter, & daughters husbands parents also.
We have 3 staterooms side by side, ours being 7012. My husband & I went on the 10 day Christmas cruise & had a great time! Won't be long before this cruise is here!

Hi there,
welcome to our group!!!
We're also staying at the Radisoon, only just the night before the cruise.
We are also right down the hall from you in cabin 7022. It will be our first time in a verandah cabin, and I am really looking forward to it.

Hello Everyone! :earboy2:

My family and I will also be on this cruise after spending 3 days at Disney World. Our party includes DH, myself, DD15 & DS11. We are driving to Orlando from East Texas and hope to arrive Wednesday around 5pm.

It looks as if my son will have lots of company! There was another thread started about this particular cruise before the boards were given a new look. Several families had made posts there, unfortunately I can't find it anymore. It seems like there were several families with boys in that 10 to 12 year old age bracket as well. My son is generally outgoing and I don't think he will have a problem meeting new friends. My DD however is a little more reserved around strangers, I am hoping that she can make at least 1 new friend.

Only 4 more months! :cheer2:
