June 30 2012 NYC Anyone?

Nothing from the actual horse and buggy people but read some info on http://family.go.com/travel/things-...horse-drawn-carriage-tour-of-historic-nassau/ and cruisecritic.com. Same for Junkaroo beach. We are just going to "wing" it, heard different reviews about Nassau some people like it others won't leave the ship.

Love surprise trips did that for dd a few years ago for Christmas planned a long New Years Day weekend in Disney World, wrapped a small suitcase with the trip details inside. It took a few minutes for it to sink in but then the facial expression was priceless. Between the excitement of the trip and the surprise I was afraid to talk to her for a month which I am sure she loved.

That sounds like a blast! I am definitely going to tell the kids at least a few months before the cruise, because we need to get some "behavioral modification" mileage out of the upcoming cruise, if you know what I mean!

So I have been reading about door decorating and fish extenders. Will our group be doing this? I hope so! I am new to all of this, but am game if you all are!

After receiving the packet in the mail--definitely getting more excited! Any more teens out there going on the cruise?

I am new to Disboards and would love to join the fish extender group. It sounds great. I have a teenage daughter 15 going and I would love her to meet (email) some other kids before we go.
I am so excited!!! I love Castaway Cay!!!
Please someone let me know about how to join for fish extenders.

My son is 17. He will be turning 18 and we will be celebrating on our last night on the ship! :dance3:

Hi Guys! I think tomorrow is 180 days before our WDW day, right? So we should be able to make dining reservations tomorrow, I think :-) Yeah!

ADR can be made 4:30PM Via Napoli can taste the Tiramisu and the Zeppoles who says deserts aren't for dinner ;) Only 180 days to go

When we did a 4 night in 2008, My DH and DD did the pirate museum in Nassau. DD is really excited to do that again! DH also did a self guided walking tour and really liked it! I stayed on the boat and enjoyed it with the girls!

What's in the package everyone is getting? We haven't received anything in that mail on any of the 3 rooms we have(or the 3 addresses)

It is a white brochure type of mailing, the back has a gold circle with Mickey holding a little girls hand.

dd thought it was a payment notice from DCL I found ours at the end of December but I think it may have been delivered mid December.

There are two items one is a paper booklet which has information about the ports, what to pack, documentations to bring. The other is a double folded heavy stock paper with your cruise confirmation number when final payment it due April 16, that is when you can book port adventures, spa treatments and dinner at adult exclusive restaurant (Palo).

nymom551111 we haven't gotten it either... Just the email about the WDW day

No we get that. I check our reservations and they are fine, but wonder why we didn't get that. We went through a travel agent for this cruise, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. So confusing!

We haven't received a packet either -- just the e-mail. But I was excited to get the e-mail :-)

I went on the Dream last year and did not get Palo or Remy because I booked late, so I wanted to remind everyone to put the date on the calendar and after they pay book right away. It looks like palo will offer both brunch and dinner. :dance3:
P.S I know a fair amount about the cruise because we were on less than a year ago so we can probably help if anyone has questions.

So what can you guys tell me about Palo and Remy? Are they really worth trying to book? Also how do you figure out what night to try to go? Thx!

Remy is not on this cruise. It is only on the Dream and Fantasy. For Palo, I would absolutely book anytime u can get. They offer dinner, brunch and high tea. High tea doesn't sound that interesting to me because it is finger sandwiches.
Dinner is great. It is getting a fancy Italian dinner for only 20 dollars extra.
The main restaurants are also great.
There are a few shows that I would not miss including Villians, Dreams, and remember the magic .
The difficulty is because this is a new cruise, we can't tell which shows are which nights.
I would book whatever is available for dinner and brunch and then cancel if there is a great show that night. For brunch, those reservations will be easier to get while in port so you need to figure out what are doing those days.
We are booking a suite for the first time so we can book 120 days in advance this time. I can post any info I find out from concierges on specifics of shows dates etc if they tell me

My daughter who was at the teen club in August says that maybe they could set something up there for him too
This cruise will be wonderful place to celebrate his 18th. Congrats!!!

Thanks. Yes, we are VERY excited. I'd be lying to say I'm not already misty eyed between him graduating, turning 18 and going to college all within a few weeks. The cruise will be a great time to capture these memories, and of course my son thinks I'm nuts, but that goes without saying.

We are getting some nasty winter weather in VA! Definitely dreaming about our cruise!!

Bundle up we are going through the coldest part of the winter..We have been having some frigid weather in NY.

Our cruise will be here before we know it and it will be so hot in the Bahamas we will be looking for the air condition...lol
