June 3, 2006 - Disney Magic Western Carribean

Yes we are dieting as well here... something we have needed to do badly. About 4-5 years ago I lost 80 pounds and was sooo happy with how I was looking.. then DH had some health issues and the stress of that pushed me back into my bad eating habits. Well I gained most of that 80 pounds back. :(

So I am seriously on the track of doing my best to get it off again. I know I won't be anywhere near my goal by cruise time, but at least I am hoping to not scare young and old alike when I go to the pool. ;)

We haven't really bought that much for the cruise yet. I got a soft sided cooler, but that is about it.

Does anyone have any idea what if any excursions they are planning on doing?

HELLO EVERYONE!!

I'm so excited about our 1st upcoming cruise on June 3rd, 2006. It will be me (39), DH (39), DD (12) and DS (10). I've been saving for over 2 years and am so excited now that I can't imagine how I'll be a week before. We are flying in the day before and staying at the Radisson. Thanks to all the information from everyone on the boards, I retained so much information about our cruise. I hope it's all that we want it to be. It will be our 16th anniversary on June 9th, while on the cruise. So nice to hear from all of you and I hope we get to meet. Do DIS'ers still wear some article of clothing that is lime green? I will try if I can. Thanks!!

Welcome Tam-PA. I also have a DS (10) and a DD (11). We are also dieting trying to get ready for the cruise. This will be our 2nd cruise. On our first cruise, all of us DIS'ers had a quick meet on our first day on the "secret deck 7". We should try for something like that.

Have a great day.

Hello everyone - Thought it time to join the thread and introduce ourselves as we will be joining you June 3. Besides myself (Cindy - forty something), my soon to be DH DAVE (forty something) and DS Christopher (7). As a matter of fact, Dave and I are planning to be wed on Castaway Cay during this cruise. This will be our 8th Disney cruise and since we enjoy it so much we decided that DCL & Castaway cay is the logical wedding choice!!

We look forward to chatting with you in the upcoming months!!! :flower:

Hi Tam-Pa and cinlyn. Welcome aboard :sunny:
cinlyn- How cool! Are we invited to the wedding? How about the reception? Party!
Tam-Pa.....At first I thought you were from Tampa, FL.

Now that the holidays are over......I am sooooo ready for this cruise! Don't have far to travel. Will wake up the morning of the cruise and drive about 30 minutes.

Welcome Guys!! How exciting for you Cinlyn! I have a daughter the same age as your son(7). We will be on Castaway on June 9th, right? So you and Tam-Pa will share an anniversary 16 years apart. That's so cool!

Thanks for your well wishes -- of course you can join us for the wedding. Not sure of all the plans yet - the Disney wedding folks have to finalize everything. I know the wedding is scheduled at 10 am on Castaway Cay and performed by a Bahamian official.

We lucked out and got the Roy suite for this cruise - can't wait. I'm thinking we may be able to have a reception/open house there!! I'll keep you in the loop once I hear more if you are interested. :cool1:

Wow, there is a lot going to happen on this cruise. Now all we have to do is wait :cool1: and wait :cool1: and wait :cool1: . My daughters are ready to start packing :rotfl2:

Be safe everyone.

Thanks so much for welcoming us aboard. It's so nice to talk with others who are going the same time and be excited with them too. I remind my children once in awhile about how fortunate we are to be going on a cruise and to not "talk" about it too much, even though they'll be so excited (like me), to their friends/relatives. At least, I get the chance to "vent" here about my excitement!

Congrats Cinlyn!

So good to hear about your upcoming wedding! It would be just wonderful to see a wedding on Castaway Cay! It would bring back some great memories from our own wedding.

Simbanoodle - It would be so nice to meet somewhere like "Secret Deck 7" on the first day. Please keep us updated - thanks!

Are most of you coming in the day before, like us, or the day of? And where are you staying the night before, if you're coming in Friday? We're at the Radisson the night before. Just wanted to know in case I run into some of you there.

Hey Tam-Pa,

We will be arriving at the Radisson late Thursday before the cruise. We will then sleep in, go to Ron Jon's Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach(I Love T-Shirts) and swim at the pool. We had a great time at the pool 2 years ago.

I also know what you mean about kids talking about the cruise. We don't even tell most of our family until about a week to go. Most of our family thinks our Disney Fascination is strange. Oh well. :rotfl2:

Talk to ya'll later.

Hi Tam-PA and Simbanoodle-

We usually stay at the airport Hyatt the evening before. Where is the Radisson? I presume that it must be nice since you are returning.

We do tell our friends and family when we go on DCL though I too understand how you feel. Unfortunately, they always roll their eyes and consider us slightly cracked for being so Disney obsessed. All I now is that we ALWAYS have a great time on the ship and can't wait for our next Disney/DCL adventure. We actually feel like we are being welcomed home when we board.

I am so excited about the cruise, I keep forgetting about my Disney Mardi Gras trip in 6 weeks. This will be our 6th trip during Mardi Gras. :cool1:

We are checking into the Radisson on the Thursday before too. We are doing Kennedy on Friday. DH really wants to do that.

Cinlyn.. congratulations! That is so totally cool! DH and I want to renew our vows probably for our 25th either on the cruise or at WDW. Our 20th is next year and we thought about doing it then.. but our oldest DD is graduating next year and we are having a big family get together for that so we need to put the $$$ towards a few minor house repairs and upkeep.

It would be totally neat to watch you get married..even from a distance. Wouldn't want to intrude on a private moment.

ACK! I am so excited. Something came in the mail today one for me and one for DH (we both have a cabin in our names since we got one for our DDs). I am thinking it is another planning package that is what it looks like, but I am not sure.

Does anyone know if a new dvd has been released for 2006 and maybe that is it?

Has anyone on the 6/03 cruise ever been to Kinos in Key West? I have heard that they have great prices on sandals. I think we will have to check this out! :flower:

I have at least 8 pairs of Kino sandals. They are about $8 each and come in alot of colors and a few styles. They are only made in one location in Key West "Kino Plaza" or something along those lines. It is located near the head of Duval Street, but toward the Hilton Hotel. It is about one block off of Front street (I think?). My cousin is going in a few weeks and he is going to pick up a few more pair for me!

Debbie,

That is so cool I finally found someone who knows about these sandals. I hope it is close enough that we will be able to go from the ship. They look really nice You can't beat $8.00 for a pair of summer shoes :cool1:

Hey Debbie,

I see you are also a DVC Member. We own points at VWL and SSR. We will be at BCV in about 6 weeks.

I just told my wife about the Sandels. She is excited. :hyper:

I can't believe it!!! :cool1: :cool1: We scheduled our cruise on June 3, 2004 exactly one year from our 2005 cruise. I have the Magic on my screen saver and I think I am going to have to take it off. I get very destracted and my mind wonders terribly. :rotfl2:
