June 29th Pin Event

I have sent PM's to a copule of people and asked this question but I have got different answers. A yes and a no. So I was wandering if anyone here knows for sure.

If you don't sign up for the Mickey's Star Spangled Pin Event can you still take part in the great pin pursuit? I really want to have the chance to do that.

If you do not have to sign up to take part in the pin pursuit where do you go to get the map and will you still be able to get the completer pin?

Chris,
I sent you a PM but not sure if you read it yet.
Your best bet would be to call Disney Events and ask them.
I know that people who go to the event and pay the fee will get some extras, but if you don't want to go to the event I am sure you can do the map. YOu can pick up the map during the day at the Contemporary. I went to a few events and they do give the map out to the event attendees first but then they have more for the other people.
You might not get any of the LE pins if you don't go to the event. They are LE's of 1500 and I am sure that there will be at least 500 people at the event. With 2 per person that leaves some, but who knows if the line for the extras might be starting early and lllooooonnnngggg. If you really want those you should sign for the event.
The pins that go on the map are rack pins so you can purchase those, but they do tend to sell out during events. But if they are really going to be rack pins they will be available again at a later date.
Now you have to decide, but try and talk you parents into going anyhow. Promise them you will do the dishes for a month, or you can offer to pay their way and pay for the pins yourself. If that won't work you can always cry. That always worked for me with my parents. Peggie
