Are there only going to be three of us on this cruise? WOW SAmsma we won't have any trouble with our ressies!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

That's fine with me, maybe we'll all be upgraded to Cat. 1 !!! Actually I think it's 4 dis families. You, Stewblue, a honeymooning couple, can't remember the name, and us. We'll all have to get together for sure. I have such fun on this board, it'll be nice to meet some of you face to face for a change.

P.S. Don't forget to where your lime green to the port!

:) That would be us! Sounds to me like it's going to be a quiet ship! This is our first cruise and we are extremely excited about it. My wife (or soon to be) has never even been in a plane before:D Any suggestions to make it an even greater experience?! We signed up for the Romance package with Palo reservations and all that.

Oh how do you set it up so that you don't end up sitting at a dinner table with a bunch of kids!? Wouldn't do very well with the 'romance' :)

Thanks for your help and maybe we'll see ya on board!

You can request dining alone but its not guaranteed. Mention your
concerns and I'm sure you'll find they will try to help.

Samsma - You won't be able to miss us. We just had 4 shirts made with our names on it(mine will have Dis'er as well)! I live for these boards also. My kids make fun of me but I find happy people with great tips and trip reports! Will you be at the port early?

We're doing the family reunion thing. Planning for 4 families has been a trip. Without the DisBoard I think I would be lost and a complete basket case. We are actually getting close enough that I think we might actually have everyone on board!! Love a chance to meet fellow DIS people.

The family reunion sounds great! I love the boards too! We'll be at the port early, but we can also set up another meet. Sounds great!:cool:Don't forget to wear your lime green ribbon.

Drummincoop, I haven't yet figured out how to dine without kids, I've tried for years, no success! Just kidding. I love mine, just also like peace and quiet. Mine are more into food fights, and the like. Do you have late seating? That might help.

Thedisneymom - I don't know what time we'll be there yet, we are staying at WDW before trip, and I want to do everything. We are staying at the Poly, but I really would like to explore the Animal Kingdom Lodge on the way to the port. Breakfast at Boma etc. I'm sure we'll be there before noon anyway. The t-shirts sound like a great idea. Are they lime green? I read on another thread about Mickey stickers (paint color cards) at Home Depot. I'm going to check those out for nametags.

Stewblue - does any of your family have small children? Mine are DD4 and DS10. It would really help my son have a good time on his own, if he had a pen-pal already.

So great to finally be able to plan with others!

Unfortunately they are white shirts, but have a picture of the characters on them. I'll find some lime green ribbon though. Is there a special way it should be worn-shirt, wrist, pocketbook? Or can I be imaginative?:jester:

I don't know of any special way, maybe someone else can help us with that. I did go to Home Depot yesterday and got the lime green paint sample cards. Really cute, though not very big. I got several, so I'll have enough to share. Hope no one really wants to paint a room lime green, or they'll be out of luck!

Plans have quickly changed as to the time we'll get to the port. My family has decided that they want to stay at the AKL for 3 days after the cruise, instead of Poly before and Dolphin after. I guess the Dolphin is out, but I'll thinking of splitting my stay for one night at Poly (Sat) and moving to AKL on Sunday. Am I nuts. The Poly just looks to relaxing, yet convenient. Darn that Travel Channel for talking up AKL! LOL It looks great! Are you staying at Port Canaveral the night before?

We stayed at poly years ago and it is SSOO convenient-yet pricey! The monorail is right at the hotel for MK, and its a 5 minute walk to the TTC. We ate at AKL and it was pretty, but I stayed at Poly when my kids were little. You just jump on the "RESORT" monorail when the are exhausted and you're in your room in minutes. You have to take the buses at AKL. Althogh it is closer to every park but MK.You decide . I'm arriving the day before and staying near the airports

STEWBLUE. I also would like to know if you have kids traveling with you. My DD14 and DS20.

Hi there -
Yes we are traveling with a wide age range. We have my DD - 21 and DDF - 20 (Darling Daughter Friend); Darling Nephew - 12; Darling Neice - 9; Darling Neice - 5. Of course each of the darlings comes with assorted parents and grandparents. Depending on how planning is going they sometimes get darling attached to their names and sometimes other words.

Stewblue - we would love to meet up with your group at the port to try to introduce your DN 12 to my DS 10 3/4 and DN 5 sounds like a perfect match to my DD 4 3/4. I just think my kids will be much more likely to let me have my "mommy time" if they meet some kids up front. I'm so excited about even the prospect of that "mommy time"!!! And believe me, mine are not always so "darling" either! Thanks for your reply.

Oh this is starting to get me excited and its still a long way to go! Of course, my 2 are always DARLING. HA! ;) Can't wait to meet everyone.

thedisneymom- bet your DS will be glad to hear at least two girls his age!

When your 20 that is never a question!!!! Stewblue will be pleased- he's an honor student who is very respectful. VERY trustworthy and good conpany for the girls if they want. He will also do anything for fun on vacation. He sang last summer at Studio Sea. I was laughing so hard I was crying. Although, his sister is planning on spending a lot of time with him. He dorms at college and she misses him terribly! The bigger the group the more fun. I'm getting very excited about this trip. You seem to be the same. TTYL :)

As a mother, of course I am very happy to hear of a responsible 20 year old young man. Of course I should issue fair warning that the two young ladies in question, having been away at college for a while lead a somewhat more youthful lifestyle than they would at home. In other words - he sounds trustworthy but I'm not going to comment on the girls! :p

Ah - for those carefree college days before husband, children. On second thought I might not live through it a second time. Maybe they should just be put in the babysitting sitting role for all those neices and nephews plus my two. That would teach them more than they'll learn at any college! LOL

Stewblue- My son has been at college also, but what I don't know won't hurt me! :p I hope there is plenty to do for them on the ship. I know he wants to go to EVERYTHING!

Samsma- My cruise shirts are beautiful. In fact, they are so nice we're doing another. I haven't gotten the paint color samples yet but they sound great. Don't worry it gets easier as they get older on vacation. Hopefully your kids will enjoy the clubs so you can relax and do something nice for yourself. Have you looked at everything(especially the high tea ) at www.castawayclub.com Even if they are with you (mine were last cruise) you are still going to have a terrific time. Lets just be grateful we're going! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

thedisneymom-

Amen to that! I have plenty of those Mickey Paint things for your bunch too if you want them. I thought they were stickers, but they aren't. Maybe a straight pin will work. I need to get off the internet and move a little before June 28! I tend to eat while surfing:( I'm not going to have $ for my spa ressies if I have to buy all new (bigger) clothes! LOL High tea didn't really interest my DH. Maybe I can talk him into brunch or dinner, but probably not both. I made the kids promise to let us have a couple of hours for Palo and spa treatments before I booked. That absolute face & body treatment really sounds like something I could get into!

I EAT ALL THE TIME! i THINK THATS THE MAIN REASON WHY i LIKE TO CRUISE! :D i'M GLAD TO HEAR YOU WILL HAVE SOME ALONE TIME. i WISH i COULD SAY THE SAME. aCTUALLY I CAN'T WAIT TO SPEND TIME WITH MY KIDS. i'M ONE OF THOSE SICK MOTHERS THAT CAN'T WAIT FOR SUMMER VACATIONS AND THE LIKE. WE WOULD LOVE SOME OF THOSE PAINT SAMPLES. LET ME TRY HOME DEPOT FIRST. JUST IN CASE STEWBLUE AND THE MARRIED COUPLE TO- BE NEED SOME. DID YOU REQUEST EARLY OR LATE SEATING? OR A SPECIAL DINING ROTATION?

STEWBLUE -SAME DINING QUESTIONS.hOW ABOUT YOUR GROUP? bY THE WAY MY SON THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY THAT I DESCRIBED HIM AS A TRUSTWORTHY PERSON. KINDA MAKES YOU WONDER! :p
