June 27, 2013 - Magic in the Med (Venice)

I borrowed this from the June 15th Med cruise...
Figured it would be fun:cool1:

1) When does your vacation begin? (out the door, flight, Spain, boarding...)
Friday, June 21st 4:40pm flight out of Boston. We will probably try and leave our house by 1:30.

2) What are you most looking forward to tasting?
Tapas and Sangria in Barcelona

3) What is your favorite secret that you know or have heard about on the Magic?
hmmm...

4) Which port are you most excited about? Least?
La Spezia...we are headed to Pisa and then to Lucca for the day.
Although I am so excited for Rome...I am afraid that only one short day will leave me sad that we were not there longer.

5) How will you dress for pirate night?
We always dress up for pirate night, but due to luggage constraints, I think the bandanas will be it for us this time.

6) What one thing do you wish you'd known before your first cruise?
To relax...it's vacation!

7) Most irrational fear about this vacation?
That for some reason my credit/debit cards will not work, and I will be stuck without any $ (although I have checked with everybody about three times).

8) Most rational fear about this vacation?
That one of us will get sick

9) What moment are you most looking forward to?
The moment when I realize that my kids are actually having a great time!
10) What is your favorite Disney Character?
It always changes...right now I am loving Donald!

We are flying Boston to Frankfurt to Barcelona on both legs.

Just FYI, today is the last day you can order tuxes for the guys.
We opted to do it primarily because now we don't have to pack dress clothes for the guys, but also because they just look so amazing tuxes:cool1:

Anyone else?

Believe it or not, we are too (on the 24th) (at least, connecting in Atlanta) from VA initially
(We'll be on the 5:30p flight)

That's our flight! We will look for you. It will be me and my 11yo grandson. He will be 12 in August..
Where are you staying?

We will be going from Houston to Newark to Barcelona on United on the 24th. We will be at the Renaissance thru Disney prior to and after the cruise.

Sorry for no participation lately. Mom fell and broke her hip and has been a real handful lately!

Still have some planning to do for the last couple of ports.

I have so much difficulty packing light. Need to pull out the non clothing items and get them all together. I usually way overpack in that area, but when I don't take that duct tape is when I need it!

We are taking the same route. Can't wait to hear how it goes for you :)

We haven't finished / finalized all of our plans either. Eek!

Hi Everyone. With a little less than 10 days to go we are only now joining this group. I have not even had time to go through the previous posts in any great way. This will be the family's 5th Disney Cruise (Magic/E. Carib; Wonder/4 Day; Wonder/Alaska; Fantasy/W.Carib). We are traveling with our 10 and 13 years old boys. Last med cruise was 1996. Been to a number of the ports in other ways.

But it is our first time in Rome. Does anyone still have space in a group for four? We are really only interested in the ancient sights, not the Vatican.

We are flying overnight PHL-BCN direct on US Air arriving the morning of the 27th. I know, tight. We will go straight to the port unless someone has a better idea for me. Thanks!

I do not know if anyone has posted the expected port loading for our trip. Here is what I got from a ports web site. Obviously 2500 is from Magic.

We are on that flight too! Our journey starts with a 90 minute drive to Grand Rapids, MI where we board our 3-hour flight to Atlanta. I look forward to meeting you!

Just look for the grandmother with an 11yo boy that look like pack mules with our backpacks!

Two weary parents traveling with two boys 12/9 is us :)

We're going to hole up at the casp74 apartments prior to cruise, but at the renaissance marriott after
