June 27, 2013 - Magic in the Med (Venice)

We are doing the beach excursion in Croatia! :thumbsup2I have read that the water is so crystal clear, and we are water lovers. Since it's toward the end of the cruise, my family will need some down time. We can relax or be as active as we want for a few hours. A plus is that the excursion still gives a brief guided overview of the Old Town. We are looking forward to it! It is a pebble beach, though. Wonder if I need to pack water shoes or will flip flops be good enough. Another thing to decide. ;)

Booking tonight and still unsure about what to do in Malta and Croatia. Any ideas? Thinking about doing the beach excursion in Croatia. :scratchin

We are doing the Jeep Safari in Malta and the cable car with harbor cruise in Dubrovnik. I wanted to do the beach but DD now associates beaches on a Disney Cruise with our last two stops at Castaway Cay, both in January. The water was FREEZING!

I was talking to the sign language people on the last cruise I was on with them. There is a family who generally goes on the inaugural cruises and that is why they end up on these particular voyages. They told me at the time that they were booked for the June 15 and 29 cruises. So unless that changes, they should be on board.

That's awesome news!

For those of you not on Facebook if you are booking excursions on Friday and you need times for them let me know.

I'd like to join the Facebook page, but I haven't made 10 posts here yet, so I can't PM the page admins. Help! :(

We have hired a guide for Croatia to take us around because we want a relatively easy day but also want to learn something about the area we are in. He's going to meet us at the ship at 2 p.m. and take us around a few hours.

For Malta, we're doing a private car / driver / guide through DCL on our first sailing but for this one, we're just doing things on our own. We figure at this point, we'll be excursioned-out, plus since it will be our second time there, we can just do whatever we want then based on what we see that there is to do.

Well get to posting :) No one here minds if you just post, post, post to get your count up so you can PM for cruise details. That's what I really like about the Meet threads - people are way more relaxed about questions and administrative things than on some of the main boards :) It might be that you can try to join from the link in the first post of this thread and include your DIS name when you do so they can go ahead and add you.

We booked the beach in Croatia too. Also not sure about Malta, because the excursion we were looking at- Limestone Heritage & Marsaxlokk By Fun Train- wasn't even listed when the booking window opened up. :(

I am traveling with just my daughter and my mother, and I am thinking about booking Palo for myself one night. Is it worth it, so to speak, on your own? Has anyone else gone there alone?

I think you would very much enjoy being there alone. And nice work on the posts, you are almost there!!!

I've only been once and it was for brunch with a bunch of DISers. It was fun. It's a nice atmosphere, very relaxed and not rushed AT ALL. How old is your DD?

There are always people there alone. I am by myself and have brunch the last day if you would like to join me. I'm taking my grandson(11) on this trip but it is his 4th trip to Europe with me. His 1st one was when he was 5.

I reserved dinner for the last day (at sea) too. Brunch might be better because I got the 8:30pm time slot, and the next day is an early morning. Hmmm what to do? :scratchin
