BBM, have you googled "apts for rent Barcelona" ? I got several hits. There was one that had numerous apts, 2-3 bdrms 300-550euros.
Actually, I haven't. I'm leaving the apartment hunting up to our Escondido (sp?) buds that we're sailing with.

BTW Soccermom... I'll raise a toast to you on Saturday afternoon as we head out on the Eastern Caribbean.

(Ernest be damned... Full Speed Aheadddddddd!!)

Arghhhhhh.... pirate:

Well, after watching airfares every day for a month I found four tickets from Miami to Barcelona for $3850 on Martinair :thumbsup2 . So we decided to go with that :confused3 . We were hoping to use FF miles for two tickets and pay cash for two through Delta but it was an insane 30hr itinerary and $3000 for the two cash tickets. Just a 12hr flight to Barcelona via Amsterdam with Martinair. The reviews on Martinair were 50/50.

So, we saved the FF miles and bought four tickets. We will flying to Barcelona a week before the cruise, then driving to Aix -en- Provence :artist: , France to see that area :moped: . Staying at a clients investment property in Aix :thumbsup2 . Then drive back to the port in Barcelona to get on board :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cool1:

FYI, kept checking Expedia, Air Gorilla, and a few other sites to find the lowest fare then called the airline directly and got the same price but refundable tickets. The Expedia deal would not have been refundable tickets for this particular flight.

Now, onto the next task, car rental and one night hotel stay after the cruise in Barcelona for next day flight back home.

Hell I cant even book DLP yet, so you know we have time! :thumbsup2

Wish I had some clients to sponge off of though! :rolleyes1

Hey, I sold her a house and she offered the place so what the heck. :confused3

I figure if better airfare comes along I can cancel these and get the LESS EXPENSIVE ones! :thumbsup2 :thanks:

Hey gang, just thought I'd say HI from lovely St Thomas. We're aboard the Magic down here in the Caribbean.

I found my Med stateroom today and took a picture of the door. (Don't ask why. I know its odd...)

Met lots of folks from the DISBoards thread for this cruise. It's been a real asset knowing all those folks, just as it will be all of you.

Excitement on board from both cruisers AND crew for the Med is sky high. EVERYONE is ready to go!

Also, saw the Roy Suite! WOWSER!!! (C'mon lottery numbers....)

I'll check back before we disembark, so if anybody wants anything picture or information wise, let me know.

Oh, for you DVC members, this is the largest group of DVC members ever sailing, they think. (Other than a members only cruise) There are 149 cabins of DVC members on board. You see the 'member magnet' all over the ship. I think its probably because this is one of only 3 or 4 of the lowest point needed weeks of the year. Mike Brunson, who works for DVC, teased us with the Contemporary DVC possibilities, but said it is still only a rumor.

See y'all later!

sorry to bump in..but i was looking at you on the StT webcam..i will post a pic for you!

BBM: that's a good pic of the boss. You should smile more. Who else is on board this week? I keep catching myself thinking, "wonder where they are? what are they doing?" Please have a Hopeton margarita for me. :teeth: Say "hi" to the Travel Junkies!

Have a good time BBM, Get the crew primed for the 6/27 cruisers! :cool1:

I'll raise a glass to ya!

A few thoughts on this cruise.

This is my first cruise on the Magic since they added the big screen. It's a tremendous addition.

I'm not sure who is more excited about the Med Cruise, the passengers or the crew members. I haven't heard a one who isn't totally geeked about the Med.

As a side on the Med, I bet half the people I've talked to are also going on the Med, at various dates.

The wireless internet still pretty much sucks on here, but I went to the manager with my problems and they did what it took to fix things. I would say for the med I'll probably set up my email differently and go back to the internet cafe.

They have some guy on here playing Jack Sparrow for pictures. He has Johnny Depp down to a 'T'.

The ship's band 'X-O-P' is absolutely horrible. I'm usually the least critical of bands and movies and the like, so if I think they're bad, trust me. To quote our mascot Rodney from Caddyshack, "Hey guys... take some LESSONS!!!"

We're traveling with our British friends, and they seem to know every danged employee on the ship! They've sailed the same number of times as us. They must make friends more easily.

Yesterday, they did a testing of the lifeboats, and that was pretty neat. They had most (if not all) of the lifeboats in the harbor in St Thomas running around.

More mindless wanderings later.

(BTW Cheri, did I mention we'll be on Castaway Cay tomorrow?)

:charac2: poor baby, only six hours at CC ...

I take comfort in the fact that you are now back on dry land like the rest of us..

only 6 hours at CC. What a whiner. :sad2:

Ooh, I bet we got one of those crystal rocks with the Magic carved into it. You know, one of the $75 jobbies. I kinda liked the pearls, too. (You'd have to share yours with the Admiral though. :rotfl:)

Lessee...

I got one of those really rare Disney Vacation Club beach towels, the ones with the deck chairs on them with all the characters names.... and a couple of leather passport holders... and more of the new Mickey Mouse luggage tags... and more DVC hats... and bags....

and more Castaway Club beach bags....

and a DCL polo shirt... and a Pirates of the Caribbean watch....($10 if you buy $50 worth of OTHER "treasure").... and a Walt Disney World T shirt that was on closeout....

and pictures of me and Mrs BBM all dressed up... and with our Scottish friends...

and.. and... hmmmm... for you guys...?

I'd better go look in the trunk again.....

On a somewhat serious note, I found out that the ship's HR manager is from a small town about 45 minutes from here. I called her up and she came by our table at Palo and introduced herself. (anybody want a job?)
