June 26, 2011 5 Nights on the Disney Dream!!!!

ATTENTION ALL FISH EXTENDER PARTICIPANTS

On April 1, I will be making all final updated to the FE Spreadsheet. I know there are still a few people we are waiting for info on. I have sent out emails letting them know that the end of March is the last day to get me their info to be included in the exchange. On the 1st, or shortly after, I will send everyone the final list. After that, the only updates should be GTY room assignments and room changes. I am leaving for Disney on June 21st. I am thinking about putting a dry erase board on my door to my stateroom in case anyone has a room change after the 21st or at the port. What does everyone think? That way, if you are changing rooms, you can go to my door and make a note on the board. Then if a family is delivering and can not find you, they can go to my room and get the info. Sound good?

Well, we had a few 'Spring Like' days here but today------- another 8 inches of snow expected!:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: Will this winter ever end!:headache::mad::confused3:headache::mad::confused3:headache::mad:
I need this vacation BAD!!!!

UGH! I KNOW!!! We just got a few inches again after some t-shirt days! I am NOT HAPPY! I was getting all excited and then BAM snow :sad1:

96 days!

This sounds good to me. I will also be leaving for Florida early on June 24th and will be out of touch by e-mail until after the cruise. Using the dry erase board is a great idea. :thumbsup2

Hey all
Just got back from Orlando yesterday. Chaperoning my son's high school band trip = Long bus rides, a day at Sea World , a day at Universal and a day at Wet and Wild water park. I wound up sleeping most of yesterday:rolleyes1

I'm gonna email DCL tomorrow with a request for a mixology class. I remember reading that they keep the classes small (less than 12 people) because we will be hands on and mixing our own drinks. So if it goes above 12 they may need to break us up into two tasting groups.
I'm not sending them detailed info yet -just checking to see what is required.

Send me a pm if you think you might want to join us so I can give them a close to accurate number:woohoo:

Just thought I would check in -- I've been away from the boards for awhile. We just completed our spring break cruise on RCCL - Allure of the Seas... sacrilegious, I know:rotfl:

What an amazing ship....having now been on the Allure and the Dream, I can say that you can't compare them...there are some things that RCCL does better, like port check in...less than 10 minutes from curb to cabin! With 6000 passengers, that's impressive! Overall, both trips were amazing.

Just did final payment today, so, I will try to book Palo dinner for my SIL and I, as well as the Atlantis dolphin/waterpark tour.

Crystal - the FE cutoff is a great idea:banana:. Gives everyone time to plan (and given that this cruise is sold out, can't image we'll have too many new folks joining!)

Will try to catch up on what I missed tonight.

Lisa

Your dining rotation will be printed on your Key to the World card, which you receive at port check-in. If for some reason you were to receive a rotation that didn't work for you, you can ask to switch. This is done in the same place as on-board Palo and Remy reservations (can't think of the name). There is no guarantee that they will be able to switch your rotation, but they will do their best to accommodate you.

Hello All,

My husband has been on this board for a while and since we told the kids tonight about the cruise i figured I should get on here as well. The kids are really excited but i have a feeling that DH and i are a tad bit more excited. You all know DH as WestPalmBucsFan. The kids are DD16 who is a cheerleader and captain/QB of her High School Flag Football team, DSS16 plays football for his High School and DS10 in the 4th grade, plays tackle on the rec team in our hometown. DH and I actually run the rec program here and the cruise will come at the perfect time between the draft and practices actually starting---we will need the relaxing before the season kicks off.

I need to get my post count up so if you have any questions so I can answer.

Can't wait to see everyone in June!

Hey
Welcome to the DIS :welcome:

My DS is 17 and my DD will be 14 by the time of this cruise.
Lots of kids in the same age range.

Is this your first cruise?
What are you looking forward to the most?
What was your favorite vacation?

You can also post questions you have in separate posts to drive the number up as well:thumbsup2

Private Mixology Class

Finally heard back from DCL about the required numbers for this class and was a bit surprised by their response.

We received your email regarding a private “Mixology” class. The minimum requirement for this type of event would be a 25 guest minimum with a maximum of 45. The cost is $20.00 per person.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Thanks.

I thought the class would be much smaller as the posts I had seen on this had said that you got to mix your own drinks.
I'm going to ask him to clarify whether this size class is just a lecture (with drinks handed out) or if it is hands on.

I'd prefer a hands on class if possible.

Anyway, at last count we only had 10 people (plus 4 maybes) interested. So we need alot more to hit the minimum number of 25.

Also, if someone is in concierge and is interested in this type of class, the concierge staff would probably be faster and more efficient in organizing this for us...so feel free to step in and let me know if interested:thumbsup2
I could take the names and info and pass them on to you to pass on to concierge:confused3

Of course the drinking age is 21, so unfortunately our younger DIS members have to sit this one out:hug:

Hello everyone! :wave2:We are booked on this cruise!!:cool1: We are a family of 4...mom, dad, DD (8) and DD (5.9) from CA. This is our 5th disney cruise but our first on the Dream. A little nervous because we knew all we could know about the Magic, the shows, the food, etc and now we have a whole new boat to learn!!:upsidedow

I have a lot of reading to do!! It will take a little while but I will get to know y'all a little better! I haven't even seen my signature in a year and a half so I am really behind:lmao:

I did skim a few pages back. I thought I read that April 1st is the cutoff for participating in FE? :scared1:That's really early compared to my previous 4 cruises! Yikes! That's only in a few days!! Cruises don't have to be paid in full until April 12th so some might not join the boards until then. We have always made time-consuming hand made FE gifts so I understand that we can't have people join at the last minute! Maybe I didn't read it right....it's 3am.:faint: That's almost 3 months in advance so I could be completely off. Maybe it said May 1st (which is even early compared to my other cruises).

Like I said, have lots of catching up to do! Looking forward to getting to know you!!

Off to bed finally! Oh, aren't the DIS boards so addicting?!?!?!?
Kym

Haha! I just saw my signature and I am about 2 years off in ages!!:rotfl: I have to remember how to go back in and change it because it's been so long!!

Actually that is not early and most of us are different levels of castaway club members and our final payments were already due earlier because booking our excursions are earlier and you must be paid in full in order to do so.
We have been on the boards for for quite some time and have a big group we have been working hard on the FE and already have a group landyard that is already past the deadline and ordered.
I only have a few extra.
If you are indeed interested in the FE you need to contact Cswan1 right away. We have a landyard team for this FE several families chipped in as a FE gift. I might have enough for your family we have one family that has not contacted since last year and maybe be dropped off list. If that happens I would have enough for your family.
If you do decide to be on FE I also need a PM from you with your family members first names for the lanyards.
Welcome to the boards and let us know what you decide.

Good morning! After a late night/early morning on the boards, I'm really feeling it this morning!

I've always started planning a year in advance when we booked onboard from our previous cruise. So I'm used to going overboard (between being a teacher and a scrapbooker, I get into the details)! But this is a little different cuz' this cruise hasn't been set into stone until now:scared1: but it's reality now:woohoo:

If we were paid in full, I would have already booked Palo but we're not there yet! So within this week, we will have all of that taken care of.

I guess I better get going quickly. Although the time will go by fast, it sure does seem to go by slow in the midst of our excitement!!:cool1::cool1: Anyone else excited?!?!?!?

Like I said, I'll work on trying to catch up :surfweb:and get my info to the correct person.

How many adults and kids do we have on the FE list already? I have always made special FE gifts so I have to get thinking:idea: We probably won't do the lanyard thing cuz' we will come up with something else. I found the lanyard..it's cool!! Since I haven't gotten back too many pages, what does Double Dip mean? Are the families participating in the lanyards all doing double dips? LUCKY! I sure wish we could double dip!!

Do we have a group sailing list of everyone?

Have a great day!!

We also have a DD who just turned 9 last week. She is a soccer-playing, book-reading, Justice-wearing girly-girl.

Hi! My DD is 8.5 and plays club soccer. Reading...well.....she doesn't like it because her teacher mommy makes her do extra stuff!!

Maybe once I get my info to the correct person (I'm searching what info I have to send), we'll exchange names and info and hook the girls up? Now that they are older, it's great to have a friend onboard!

Kym

My DH even thanked me for booking it as we were leaving:scared1: We are all beaming in the pictures:laughing:

My husband did the same thing! It was pretty funny to see a 6'3" grown man happy because he kissed a dolphin!!:rotfl2: We booked directly through the company (which was at Atlantis) and had a good time.

You are very welcome!

My DD is sitting here with me- she is very excited to have a friend on the ship. Lets see, for non-Disney stuff, she likes American Girl Dolls, her IPod and Michael Jackson.
As for Disney, she likes Wizards of Waverly Place, Shake it Up and Fish Hooks. She is a Brownie Girl Scout and wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up! Her favorite princess right now is Rapunzel! How about your little princess?

My daughter (8.5) is sitting with me now and starting to get excited! She said she likes your daughter already! She likes all3 of the Disney things you mentioned, was a Brownie (troop dismantled so we will rejoin in the fall) and she likes Rapunzel also. Michael Jackson all the way!:cool1:
