June 26, 2011 5 Nights on the Disney Dream!!!!

Here’s a possible oval design and one that is more circular. Would either of these be closer to what you have in mind?

Sorry I took so long to get back-DELL COMPUTERS=EVIL.

The second one is absolutely perfect!! Now that we have that down, I think I'll try to make a sample tag to see what happens with it.

OK folks, we're getting down to business now! We need to select ONE slogan and ONE colour. Your choices are Red or Blue for the colours. The writing will be in white.

Our slogan list (each will include the date of sailing):

Double Dipping on the Dream!
Living the DREAM!
It All Started With a DREAM!
It All Started With a DREAM! Double Dipping

(You'll have to imagine this one blue! :P)

Also, the price for each lanyard (breakaway and badge holders included) is $2.05. I'm thinking with printing of custom badges included (time, labour, paper, and ink!) the price should be $2.75 each. However, Dishy24 suggested the idea of splitting the cost between a number of 'lanyard families' who would be giving these lanyards as their Fish Extender gift and therefore wouldn't need to pack other gifts if they didn't want to.

So, your last vote will be for either everyone pays for a lanyard ($2.75 each) or the FE Lanyard Families Plan.

Please PM me your votes! I don't want to clutter the main thread with lots of voting lol. Remember, you are voting for Color, Slogan, and Payment. Thanks everyone!

!!!!!!ATTENTION CRUISERS!!!!!!

I just sent out an email regarding the fish extenders to the people I have received email address for. If you did not receive the email, I do not have your address. Please PM me your email and I will send you the info.

There is a way (but I don't know how) to set up a poll. I know we did it on our TA meet-up thread. Anybody know how to do this?

I think we’ll all learn a great deal about procedures, quirks and hidden prizes by reading the TRs and various post from the folks on the first several cruises (and this one reason why I’m not at all troubled by not being on the inaugural voyage).

.

I agree - they should have all the kinks worked out by the time we board:thumbsup2

Hey everyone!! I am officially booked on the dream with ya all! I was convinced to sail on the Dream by my best friend cswan1!! I am cruising with my friend and our two oldest sons who are 4 and 5! We are so excited!:cool1::cheer2:

:welcome: Welcome Aboard. We are getting pretty excited too.:welcome:

Hey Mary Ann

So good to see someone I know on this cruise:goodvibes
Yes, so crazy on that EBPC cruise that I didn't get to see and chat with you. Will definitely remedy that this time. Was so disappointed to see all the late night fun I missed when the pics came out after that cruise:guilty:
I'm making more of an effort to get into the activities planned in the evening and staying up to midnight-but it's hard to break habits at this stage:rolleyes:

It is nice to be back on the DIS and planning a cruise

Great to be planning a cruise finally. This is our first since the Panama Canal cruise. I am afraid that the 15 day may have spoiled us a bit.

I just sent out an email regarding the fish extenders to the people I have received email address for. If you did not receive the email, I do not have your address. Please PM me your email and I will send you the info.

Got it - Thanks:thumbsup2 It looks great

Has everyone started booking or at least looking into airfare for this cruise? We are about 5 months out & I'm debating if it's still too early. To make thing even more complicated... There are 4 of us traveling on 3 different itineraries! Cruise #1 (this one) is me, Mom & ds. Then Mom goes home & dh joins us for the 2nd cruise in our back-2-back. Then the three of us are going to WDW for a week. I was originally booked in Saratoga Springs Resort, but availability just opened up at Bay Lake Towers a few days ago through DVC-- we are SO excited to stay there! :jumping1::dancer:

As for airfare... right now, the best prices I can get on flights are booking almost all 1-way flights for everyone! Although they are the best priced flights, they aren't out of the most convenient (closest) airport & the outbound for me, ds & Mom isn't direct. There are Jet Blue flights at the closer airport that are direct, but they are about 50% more expensive. Not sure what to do-- take the "sure thing" at a good price or hold out for the prices to drop on the better/ more convenient flights.... I hate this airfare game! I swear, buying airfare is like playing the stock market!!!:confused:

Anybody purchase flights yet? Who's holding out???

We just booked our airfare after I saw decent prices for Airtran from ABE (Allentown, PA) to MCO (Orlando) but we also used some credit card points so I was less worried about the actual ticket price. We're half way between Allentown and Newark, NJ but much prefer Allentown because its smaller and so much easier to get in/out plus no 45-minute wait on the runway prior to take off.

We visit WDW most often in late June (except this year we're doing Universal prior to the cruise) and I've usually booked airfare about 4-months before our trip, or the February-early March timeframe. I've consistently found that this is when the prices bottom-out and then start to go back up as the planes begin to fill-up.

I think you're ok to wait a bit longer but with fuel prices expected to rise this summer I'm thinking there may be fewer last minute deals, but I agree that it's like reading tea leaves when trying to decide when to buy tickets!

I'm so glad we are driving! :rotfl: Flying is just looking too complicated to me.

So, has everyone else been scouring all the new "Dream" threads full of pictures and menu's? I've been having a blast doing so each night for the past couple of nights. :surfweb: It's making it all even more exciting now that I can see pictures and get info on different things. I have even gotten idea's of what I'm going to order for dinner! :rotfl2:

I've also started looking around at different costume items for pirates night. Is anyone dressing up? Last cruise (2009) DS wore a costume and myself and DH just sort of did pirate "accessorizing". Not sure but we may kick it up a notch this cruise. :thumbsup2

Is it JUNE YET???? pirate:

We haven't purchased tickets yet either. I am with Pete below. I am going to hold out until the end of February. Hopefully by then I can snag a good deal.

Pete, I don not have you and your family on the Fish Extender list- would you care to join in the fun???

OH I WISH IT WAS JUNE!!! THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME!!! And YES, I am hooked on the new pics of the Dream! She is just so beautiful! I met with the District sales manager for my area for the Walt Disney Travel Company and he is going on one of the preview sailings! I can not wait until he returns so I can see his pictures!!

I sent out another email a few minutes ago with an updated FE List. Again, if you did not receive it and are planning on participating in the FE, I am missing your information. Please PM me with the names of everyone in your party, kids ages, room number, family name and your email address. I will try to send updates frequently!

Thanks for the tip!!! I would really prefer the closer airport!

I know some of the ones in my group are planning on dressing up for pirate night this year. On our last cruise, my daughter was the only one that dressed up. I know my sister, niece, daughter and I plan on dressing up. I am having a hard time finding a costume. 99% of the ones online are pretty....um...... inappropriate. Plus, I am hoping to lose a few (or a lot of) pounds before the cruise so I still have some time to find something! I think this is going to be FUN!

We just did reserved Southwest..Flying in day before reserved a room at Comfort Suites...using *********** tours reserved them too.."I am so ready:cool1::cool1:

Oh I know what you mean. The costumes are not all "disney appropriate". :rolleyes1 I am trying to lose more weight too and I'm also affraid to order anything until I'm closer to where I'm trying to get. :thumbsup2

Well, I wanted to look into buying a corset for the party, but they're all too expensive! I honestly don't care about the whole 'inappropriate' thing, but I'm not at the right size for all that yet xDD

Flights suuuuck. Mom was going to use a free flight for this vacation but since we fly back on July 2nd, which is too close to the 4th, they wouldn't let us use it. Plus, they charged us holiday rates so we ended up spending $1000 for the four of us or something crazy like that...

I care about the "inappropriate thing" She meant she wanted a renaissance corset type costume piece.

It is actually $1800.00 for 4 people. Airfare from Southwest non stop flights. They were very high.

Yes, the inappropriate that I was speaking of was things like the skirt being so short that your fanny is sticking out, or breasts spilling out from the top. Things that little kids shouldn't be seeing. :thumbsup2
