June 26, 2011 5 Nights on the Disney Dream!!!!

:welcome:

I did a 5 night cruise on the Magic two years ago and they did Semi-formal night & Pirate night. However, there was no Formal night. Not sure if they will have new "theme" nights for the new ship or not.

I'll be on the Inaugural cruise in January and hope to have lots of information when I get back!

Thanks for the welcome! :goodvibes
If there are new theme nights I wonder what they would be. I'm so excited I'm up for anything! We can't wait to sail away again.

Oooh I can't wait to see pictures and read all about your time on the Inaugural cruise. How EXCITING!!!

:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

Due to circumstances beyond our control we have been forced to cancel our booking..

We hope to be on the Dream at some point in the next few years

Everyone enjoy

So sorry to hear this. We will miss having you with us.:sad::sad::sad:

We are booked....FINALLY!!!!!!

Ok, so does anyone know what sort of themed nights there are for this cruise? For example when we did the 4 night on the Wonder last year we had a pirate night, a semi-formal night, and a couple of "normal" attire nights. Is there going to be a "formal" night on the 5 night cruise or are they just sticking with a semi-formal night?

Also, what is the dining rotation like? Is that information out yet? :confused3 I have a ton of reading to do!

:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:
I will add you to the FE list!

If everyone could check the list on page 10 and make sure you are on it, I would really appreciate it! I don't want to forget anyone! Also, if you are planning on doing the FE's, make sure I have noted that as well.

I just returned from 8 days in Orlando- 3 at a conference for work and 5 at Disney! We had a great time! The best part- my daughter had no idea! :rotfl:It was a complete surprise!:eek:

Now to focus all my extra time on our Dream cruise!:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Your trip sounds like it was great! I wish I could pull off a surprise trip. I just always get so excited that I spill the beans! :rotfl:

Edited to add: It will be myself, DH and DS who will be 7 on the cruise!

Sorry to hear that.... Did you cancel yet as I want a room without a verandah? What room category did you cancel?

We are making our down payment tomorrow - this will be our first cruise and I am super excited. :cool1: DH, DD (8) and DS (6) are also excited.

Sign us up for the FE too, I just scrolled through 76 pages of ideas - whew - I am not that creative but am going to give it my best.

WOW! We are really growing!!!

So, how has everyone's summer been? Mine has been super busy. On Thursday July 22, I left work, picked up my DD and DMom and drove to Hartford, CT (about 2 1/2 hour drive). See, I had told my daughter I had a surprise for her this summer. Well, we pulled into Fairfield Inn Marriott and she said, "I knew my surprise was staying at a hotel and going to the mall." So we checked in for the night, had dinner and went to bed. The next morning, we got up early, got into the car and headed out. My DMom was ready with the video camera and I asked my DD where she thought we were going and she replied in a great 8-year-old-female-attitude "THE MALL!". I told her that most likely we would be doing some shopping but we were actually going to the airport and flying to Orlando! I told her I had a conference to go to for work and that we would not have time to do Disney but we were going to Sea World. Her response------ "Seriously????? Are you serious Mom??? Seriously?!?!?!?!
We had direct flights and arrived into Orlando around 11. We picked up our rental car and headed to Spring Hill Suites Marriott by Sea World. After checking in, we went to lunch at Golden Corral. Then we went to the outlets for a bit then back to the hotel for 2 more surprises.
Heather, a former coworker of mine moved to Florida 2 years ago and my DD adored her. DD and I were sitting outside the hotel and a car pulled up and out stepped Heather! DD was thrilled. A little bit later another car pulled up and out comes my coworker and best bud, Stacey with her mom and dad and her 2 boys (they drove from VT- 28 hours!!!!). DD was so excited!! We spent the rest of the evening at the pool, enjoying some good drinks with good friends! The only downside to the day was DD developed a fever that lasted until Monday! It got up to 102.8!!!!
Saturday and Sunday, I had my seminar while DD and DMom enjoyed the pool with Stacey's parents and kids! We did go to Sea World both nights for a few hours!
Monday, my seminar was over at 12 and DMom was there to pick me up. We headed back to the airport, returned the car rental and got ready to head into the airport. I turned the video camera on to ask DD what she though of her surprise mini vacation! She said it was great! I asked her if she was bummed that we didn't go to Disney. She said yeah, a little. So, I deployed the next surprise! I said "Okay then- lets go to Disney for a few days!" She gave me a very unsure look and asked again if I was serious? Yup, I am serious! Lets go get on Mickey's bus!
And with that, we were of to Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort!
Well, I have more to the story but I will have to finish later. The battery is low on my laptop and we are having a horrible thunder storm! I hope you have enjoyed the story so far!

Thanks CSWAN1!!

What a wonderful surprise for her!! I also engineered a bit of a surprise, we went to visit family in Holland this summer and on the airplane over I surprised the kids by giving them little cards that said we were going to DisneyLand Paris for 2 days and I gave my DD and extra present for her birthday - we had lunch with the princesses. DS was happy to miss lunch and had a pizza buffet at Pizza Planet instead :goodvibes

Can someone explain how fish extenders work when we get closer - will everyone post their room numbers and verify they are still going or do people come on and tell you when they have to change their plans (not that I am planning on that - we are going!!:)

I showed my daughter some FEs online this am and explained everything to her and she is totally onboard!!

Ok so I surprised my kids too. I planned a trip to Orlando for my 40th Birthday on Aug. 10th. we flew to Orlando on Aug 8th and left Aug12th. We went to Universal Studios and saw the new Harry Potter park in Islands of Adventure. It was amazing! The Harry Potter Forbidden journey ride in the castle was fantastic. The theming of the entire Castle, the hogsmede village , shops and even the frozen butter beer was Awesome! I spent my Birthday at Disney Hollywood Studios. We earned a free ticket to Disney by volunteering. We had not seen the Toy Story Mania ride and loved it! I rode my favorite rides, Tower of Terror, Rock-n-Roller Coaster, Star Tours.
Ate Dinner at the 50's prime time cafe love that place go there every time we are in Orlando.
Best Birthday ever!
:wizard:

Sounds like lots of lovely surprises flying around this summer!:goodvibes

I had a mini surprise in that DH Sulley found $100 flights to Orlando, so he booked them for a long weekend then had me book a short stay at POFQ! :cool1:

So we had a mini-vacation to help break up the summer and his work travel!

Then we got news that DBiL and his DFiancee FINALLY set a date for their wedding and decided whether it would be in Maui (where they live) or Wales (where DFiancee is from) and they chose MAUI!!!:banana::banana:
Of course, since I have never been to Wales, that would have been cool too, but not in FEBRUARY...I'm going to Hawaii in FEBRUARY!! :dance3:

CSwan1, how were the suites? We were thinking about staying there sometime for a mini Seaworld trip...someday...

Yes, HP world was insanely awesome. I do caution against the pumpkin juice, however-tastes horrible!!

School is almost on-it will pass the time before this cruise!!!

Are you guys still planning a cruise around here????? :lmao:

Hope everyone is doing well. We have been super busy all summer. Oldest dd moved into her dorm this weekend, middle dd starting high school this week, and youngest dd started middle school last week. To top it off, I moved offices as well, so things have been crazy!!!!

But, though I better check in!!!!

It's just been crazy around here with school starting and everything. We moved ds to a new school this year so it's been a little more hectic than usual. I have to keep reminding myself that we have a cruise booked which is SOOOO unlike me!! I'm hoping things slow down a little in September. But that is our peak hurricane season so we shall see! :guilty:

The suites were great! They are fairly new and I loved the room layout! The pool is shared with the other Marriott next door but it never felt crowded!

Yup, definitely still planning a cruise here! We are start planning our Disney stay, too. It looks like we will be at POFQ from the 21st to the 26th. We were going to stay in Cape Canaveral the night before the cruise but I think we have decided to just stay the night in Disney and head to the port early! Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!!!

We've had a change of plans! We decided to switch from this cruise to a 10-day Med cruise instead. Hope you all have fun~

Hi Blueyed Girl! What part of Louisiana are you from. We will be on this cruise with four other families. We are in Marrero, so I feel your anxiety for hurricane season. Hope it is a quiet one.

Hello All,

My friends and I are finishing up our reservation for this sail date now.

This is our first cruise ever on any cruise line and we are excited to me on a DCL especially the Dream.

There are 4 of us in the group, myself (25 at time of cruise), my boyfriend (23 at time of cruise), and our two friends who are also dating, male (24 at time of cruise) and female (23 at time of cruise).

I'm not sure if are going to participate in the FE as the other 3 in the group are still in college/will just be finishing up college and I'm in my second year of work at a public high school. We aren't sure if we'll have the resources to partake in the FE even though it sounds really fun.

We can't wait to set sail!

Hey there! We are from Southwest La. Wow, four other families...that's GREAT!! We can't ever seem to get coordinated with our families enough to make a trip to Disney or a cruise together. Regardless, we are super excited for this one. We did a 4 night on the Wonder in 2009 and it rained 3 out of 4 days. Everything on Castaway Cay was shut down. :sad2: We are hoping since this is a double dip, that we at least get ONE good day on the island this time! :rotfl:
