June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Permission granted! :)

Hi there! Glad to hear that you all had fun on the Dream. Did ya get to ride the Aquaduck? That is what my daughter is most excited about!

I am the Keeper of the FE list (sort of like the Keeper of the Keys at Hogwarts, only much shorter, much less hairy and much less cool than Hagrid) so if you all are interested, here is a link to the form!

(For anyone else reading this and curious, we are up to 20 families.)

Anyway, I have my husband and daughter (10 when we sail), and our wee little boy who will be three when we sail. It will be our sixth cruise.

We look forward to getting to know you!

We all got to ride the Aquaduck. It was lots of fun. The hardest part was sitting down and getting up.:lmao:I'm just not a graceful person but I keep on going.

I'm thinking about doing the FE. I had decided not to do it anymore on the shorter cruises, but it is always fun to see what people come up with for the FE.

This will be a different cruise for us since it will be the first time that our DS is part of the 18+ gang. He's going to miss the Vibe. He met some fun kids and had a great time on the Dream in the Vibe.

This cruise will also be our 10th DCL cruise. Who would have thought? I never thought that 3 DCL cruises would be in my life. I think a few of the cruisers on this cruise have been on some of our past cruises. The names look familiar.

Now I need to go back and really read the other posts for fun. I love planning and dreaming about upcoming vacations.

I've started checking into flights. Depending on gas prices,it may be cheaper for us to fly out of Dallas again instead of OKCity.

Iv'e been pricing from Dallas and they're running $270 each, roundtrip.

You know you always have a place to park. :thumbsup2
I am hoping I am going to do what y'all did last time by going to WDW before hand. Not sure how many days yet. I tell ya, with Megan in HS band our time is just flat not ours anymore
I guess I need to start keeping my eye on airfare so that will probably dictate where and for how long we can stay pre cruise.

You're so sweet Coral! Right now we're thinking maybe the Wed. before. We'll see.

Just wondering where the Margaritaville is located in grand caymon

The Margaritaville in Grand Cayman is a few blocks from where the Tender drops us off in Georgetown. All you have to do is to exit the port area, turn right and go down about 4 blocks. It has a swimming pool with a 2 story slide so bring your bathing suit.

OK. I've never been there, but I think that's my favorite Margaritaville ever!

okay , I have it on good authority on whats happening with the pool situation ....i can't quote me source but heres what I know ... The pools that are on the Dream and Fantasy will remain the same , including the teen one - where they are going to add a pool is where the concierge deck lounge is ....They will do this on the Fantasy at Meyer Werft and the Dream will get hers when it goes to dry dock .....Structure wise , its the only place they can and room is avail to do it underneath the deck lounge .... So there you have it ....

You heard it first from the Capn

Do you know if that pool will be available to all or will it be a concierge only pool?

That's the way it is on Norwegian in their Garden Villa area. And it hardly ever gets used. It's a nice idea for the concierge people, but won't do anything to lessen the crowding in the other pools. And like I said, even the concierge people hardly ever used it.

If they put it in the area that's been mentioned, that's a public (smoking) area.

My personal opinion is that they should have put the adult only pool where the new teen area is. It's the adults who pay for the cruises, they're the ones who deserve an area out of the way.

Hey Captain.....not to be disrespecting you or anything.....but someone on the main boards had a good point.....
They can't put the pool up there in that area near the concierge deck....there are staterooms below it.
:confused3
