We will be going June 22-28. How crowed should i expect it to be. By looking on the boards it looks like the hotels will be full. It is our first trip and wondering... :sad2: lines like sardines in a can scare me.

What should be our best stradegy? :confused3

I don't know about crowds, I'd assume most schools would be out by then though. My best advice would be to arrive at the parks a little before opening, have an idea of what attractions you want to see/do, take an afternoon break at the resort to rest, cool off and regroup, not to mention miss the afternoon crowds, then return to the park around 4 or so for the evening.

Know you won't be able to do everything, and don't try to. Most of all, have a great time!

It can be a bit crowded.

The crowds flowing into Space Mountain can cause the CM's to slide the top open and let in some fresh air (but the bright sunlight can ruin the ride.)

Buzz Lightyear's Spin can have so many guests "zapping" all those Ray Guns at once that the power-line drain dims the lights of the Tiki Room.

Pirates of the Caribbean (even though its in RE-HAB) can't stop the crush of guests who actually end up WALKING all the way through the ride (its drained of water).

The Swiss Family Treehouse can sag under the strain so that much of it is at ground-level during the afternoon.

Jungle Cruise can become the Jungle Stop, as they bring in so many boats that the ones going OUT can't go forward due to the "grid-lock" of those trying to come back to "civilization".

Dole Whips are re-named Dole Soup.

You can enjoy these attractions:
Dumbo the Crawling Elephant.
Peter Pan's Stroll.
Snow White's Scary Loading Area.
its a full boat after all
The Mark Twain Steam Submarine.

The 3 O'clock parade starts at 6:28pm.

The Haunted Mansion's stretching room stays STRETCHED and there are guests who get out and try to trade places with the "hitch-hiking ghosts".

PUSH, the talking trash can was heard muttering incoherently about Universal Studios and can be seen tossing litter onto passing strollers.

The County Bears refuse to sing... and just shoot spit-wads at Max, Buff and Melvin.

Spectromagic parade floats are set up on the sidewalk and the GUESTS must parade by to allow better crowd flow.

The "Wishes" fireworks show takes place INSIDE the Crystal Palace (cooler and more room).

And over in Epcot, the Stand-by queue for Soarin' may be up to 22 hours long, and may stretch well into World Showcase and out the International Gateway.

So, its not unlike any other day at WDW in the summertime.

;)

It will be crowded but the best tip is to get to the parks early!!!!! Get there when they open, or earlier, that way you can enjoy the parks before they get too crowded.

We were there last year at that time. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. My only advice is to use Fastpass. It sure helped a lot. Have a great time!!! :goodvibes

Robo--you have too much time on your hands..... :rotfl:

OP--We went last year the last week of June. We took full advantage of fast passes so our longest line was about 25 minutes (BTMRR). If you want to do some of the 'bigger rides' (ie.Soarin', Space Mountain) get your fastpasses early in the day as they will run out. Avoid Tom Sawyers Island unless you love being SMUSHED onto a raft with a lot of sweaty, tired strangers yelling at their kids. Every single day it rained (ok, one day was torrential downpour and wind and NO ONE was doing anything except seeking shelter) for a few hours in the afternoon. Basically, DH hates crowds and he is agreeing to go back next year at the same time so it couldn't have been too bad. I would get there as early as you can (a.m. EMH if you are staying on property) and then by the time it starts to rain or you start to roast, you will be ready for a break of some kind. We got there right after park opening everyday last year and were amazed at how empty the parks were.

I agree it will be crowded. I stay away from the crowded times.

It can be very crowded during that time. My recommendation is to not go to the MK on Monday or Tuesday. You will be packed in there like sardines. Try to save MK to either Wed. or Thursday and you will enjoy it a lot more. Go to one of the other parks on Mon or Tue. I did this last year and had a great time.
