June 21, 2011 - The Wonder breaks the Alaskan icebergs!

As mentioned above, I am OCD:eek: when it comes to FE gifts... Some of us who are crafty and make homemade items for FE gifts need time to work on them and need to know how many supplies to buy.

Oh.. now I'm getting worried that I might have gotten in a bit over my head signing up for FE!
I read some other threads about it, but this being our first Disney cruise we have obviously never participated before. Maybe I misunderstood what the items are.

What kinds of gifts do you put in?
Do you put gifts for each person on the list each day?

Thanks!

Don't worry, Jodi. It really isn't supposed to be stressful. Typically you only put things in once on your cruise, and it can be one gift for the whole cabin. When I went to MR in 2008, I recieved pirate tattoos, pencils, pens, candy, and the like, but some folks got a bit creative. I also received a handmade scrapbook, a CD of music played at the sailaway party, a wooden cable car from San Fransisco, and some cool stuff from Tokyo Disney SEAS. Since we both live in Portland, I will tell you I am focusing on things representing Portland for my gifts. (Rose City, U of O Ducks, stuff like that) I want it to be a surprise, but I will be including postcards of scenic Oregon. Average I think most spend is less than $5 per cabin, or $1 to $2 per person, MAXIMUM! PM me if you want some other ideas. I don't want you to feel weird about it, because it is supposed to be FUN.:wizard:

For FE gifts and meet-up items, I propose we change the name of our sailing to

SUMMER SOLSTICE SAILAWAY

It lends itself to cuter graphics. Anyone with me?

Kerri
LOL, check my countdown - waaaaay ahead of you!

You missed me on the list of cruisers: it will be me (Val), DH Joe, DD Rachel 18, and DD Leia 16. We will be there, but won't be doing the FE.

I had to pull out. I hoped to be able to rebook it closer to the date but June isn't going to work. I will be on my own backyard deck reading by the midnight sun (summer soltace is a stat holiday)

I am very excited to see all of the new activity on our thread this week. It is getting close and I am very excited! I cannot wait to meet you all!

Is it true that the time the excursions open is 9:01 pm Eastern time? I would assume that since the cruiseline offices are in Florida it would be 12:01 eastern time?:confused3 But am hoping that is not the case. We are on the concierge level and we can begin booking this coming Monday. I am hoping that at 9:01 Eastern time this Sunday night I will be able to book our excursions! :yay:

Have a great afternoon everyone!

Nope, it's midnight Eastern time. We book Sunday night at 10:01pm, thanks to living in AZ!

I made a mistake earlier, we're in 8516, not 8514.

Wow! Monday will be here so soon for you concierge cruisers!:woohoo: Please let us know how things go with getting through on the phone, so we can live vicariously through you.

Cheers!
Kerri

DCL, I am very envious of your cabin! We were happy when we got a Cat 2, but yours is even cooler!

Kveens, Fabumouse's kid's name is Kailey, not how you spelled it. Just in case anyone is making personalized stuff. And her cabin is 8546, I believe.

Although it sounds like lots of fun, I think we'll sit out the FE this time. It's our first cruise, so we probably just want to take it all in :lovestruc
Our next cruise (the MV of Fantasy) I'm already in the FE group for that!!!:rotfl:

That is great that we will also see you on the Fantasy!! we are very excited about that.

BUT Ohana4 was my license plate when we lived in NJ, I got a lot of hand waves for that. So you could just do magnets with that title. It would make me happy. ;)

I am so sorry you won't be able to make it..

But there are so many great cruises with DCL, you will have a wonderful time no matter when you book.

Thanks for letting me know. :flower3: I've corrected the above.

I can't believe how close we're getting to the cruise either. I need to make that final payment, but I'm waiting until the last minute (hoping it will wind up on NEXT month's credit card statement instead of this one).

Of course I'm still working on the trip report from out TA cruise last April!

Ginamarie, we did that too, paid on the last possible date so it went to the next month's statement. Much nicer than paying it instantly!

Hi everyone! We are on the June 21st cruise, and I'm (obviously) very behind in our planning because this is my first visit to this thread. We are
Karl adult
Jenny adult room 5510

Holly DD15
Will DS 12
Jeremy DS 8 room 5512

We would love to do the *FE* thing but first someone would have to explain to me what that is. I've seen them mentioned a thousand times on the boards but I've never really looked into it. We've only done 3N cruises up until this point and there wasn't time to unpack, let alone do meets or FEs. Is there a thread that explains this?

I saw the Ketchikan port schedule. We were going to do things on our own in Ketchikan but it says that there are 5 ships in port that day so maybe we'll pay for a Disney excursion to make sure we can do what we want. Is there a similar schedule for Juneau or Skagway so we can see how many ships are in port there also?

Does anyone know the schedule for formal nights/pirate night and such? We've never tried Palo so I want to try and book it, but it would be easier to know the schedule.

Nice to meet everyone! And I'm going to try and get through all 20 pages of posts this weekend so I don't ask something that's already been answered.

We are PIF. We will be flying into Seattle, as it is cheaper than into Vancouver. Has anyone ever utilized Quick Shuttle from SEA-TAC to Canada Place? I can get roundtrip for 4 people at $277. No car to worry about, or driving involved.
