June 2024 WISH Thread- Jumping into SUMMER ☀️🍉🕶️

What a lovely long weekend it was, with lots of sun and nice warm temps. Totally made up for Memorial Day weekend.

I went to my second class reunion planning meeting Saturday, and it was just as eye opening as the first one was. I've realized I don't know anyone my own age, all the people I hang out with are younger, so it's a bit of a jolt to sit around a table with a bunch of other old people. One of my best friends thru junior and senior high school popped into the mtg to drop off some money and it was so sweet to be able to say hello. Really looking forward to catching up with her at the reunion.

My motivation this week... over the weekend I was thinking support of a weight loss med like Ozempic might be helpful with food management. But in reading up on the different options it didn't seem like they would help where I need the help, so instead I'm starting to take some supplements that will specifically help with sugar management and I'm also starting to take a supplement for my feet, which I've been trying to ignore. This week I'm also going to focus just on increasing protein intake. So basically, starting over at square one again.

Motivation for this Monday is getting my eating back on track…which means actually tracking my eating.

My movement and fitness have been on track the month of June-I have closed all my Apple Watch circles everyday so far-but I am only half tracking my eating and the days I don’t track I am over eating for sure.

I didn’t track all weekend, but today so far I have so I need to stay in this mindset the rest of the week 😊

Motivation is to keep moving and keep up with the exercise structure I was following over the last month-ish. It will be harder now that I have to be in office all day 3 days a week (a good adjustment but still an adjustment) but I am going to do my darndest to keep active. I blocked out time to exercise during lunch on the days I am home and blocked out “Wednesday walking club” with my team for the next couple months. If I have those three instances a week plus at least one quick hit evening workout I’ll be in good shape.
If I decide to do the 5k again next year I need to get used to running outside. I had no issue jogging back and forth for a long time across my breezeway but as soon as I was outside bam my feet refused to do more than speed walk. Goals for next year I guess.
The increased exercise did nothing for my weight, I actually feel like I gained weight since it made me crazy hungry, but my stamina and attitude improved so that is what is motivating me to keep going. The physical will come I need the mental improvement more right now.

No bake graham treats:
Graham crackers
Peanut butter (or similar Nutella, sunbutter, cookie butter etc)
Whipped cream or cool whip

Prepare a cookie sheet or small baking dish with cooking spray/tin foil. Place half a graham cracker on the tray. Sweep a thin layer of peanut butter across it. Add a dollop of whipped cream. Top with half a graham cracker and gently press down. Once your desired amount have been prepped put them in the freezer for 4ish hours. Remove from the baking sheet and place in a freezer bag. Eat straight from the freezer.

Woohoo for a couple days of better food management and a couple pounds lost. I actually had a chicken breast for dinner last night and got some protein in my body. Woohoo for also starting back up with YouTube exercise videos, right now it is just stretching but it is helping. And I got out for a beach walk yesterday, which felt great.

And woohoo for another trip around the Sun, as today is my birthday. Nothing special planned as I did my birthday stuff last Friday. I did buy myself a birthday present tho... I've been using a red-light LED wand for several weeks and feel like it is starting to make a difference in my skin, so I splurged and got one of the full LED masks.

Oh, and another birthday present... I'm getting my ears re-pierced tomorrow. The original holes closed up several years ago and I'm quite excited to wear earrings again.

Happy Birthday :bday:!!

Great presents! I haven't worn earrings for a very long time and I've lately started wondering if they could possibly be closed up? I need to remember to check that out.

My woohoo - I'm also down a couple of pounds. May was a bad month weight wise, but I am now officially lighter than I was at the end of April, so I've erased May's bad choices and am back on my way down!

Today I am thankful that my yard has such a thriving bird community. There's a bird house attached to the shed that always has occupants, even over the winter months. Last week I discovered a nest on the ground at the base of a little fig tree, when I started to pull up some overgrown clover... thank goodness I hadn't taken the weed wacker to it. Then this morning when I was checking that nest, I noticed a mossy hanging nest in the lilac tree right above it. The ground nest is of a Junko and the hanging nest is a Pacific Wren. So cool. And I love stepping outside and hearing the bird song all around me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉🎉

Hello everyone!!! I apologize for my absence!!! DD headed to NY on a missions trip with church yesterday and I was so caught up in getting her ready and then I had to re-familiarize myself with caring for her reptiles…they all seem happy so that’s good.

Whoooohoooooing Wednesday was good food choices AND logging which has resulted in the scale going down since last week.

Thankful DD took this trip. It’s outside of her comfort zone but she did it and I hope she learns and grows from this experience.

Looking forward to the weekend!!!

Today I'm thankful for the little things -
  • I hit the stoplight on green this morning on my way to work!
  • I have a baseball game on in the background while I work (and post on here lol)!
  • It's a beautiful day outside! After eating my packed lunch I ran to Walgreens to get some hairspray and it ended up being free after a coupon and a store coupon to use on my next purchase!
  • I already know what I'm making for supper tonight (I'm not good at meal planning)!
