June 2019-Busy? Slow?

Do you think it will be slower this summer as compared to years past because of Galaxies Edge?

Hi all,
So my kids, wife and I normally travel during the beginning of May as to avoid the summer crowds and spring break crowds as well but we decided to take a trip to celebrate my sister graduating High School and are going down with my side of the family this upcoming June. With Galaxies Edge opening in Disneyland during the summer and than late fall at WDW. How bad do you think the crowd levels will be?

I know there will be those who don't care about Galaxies Edge and will travel during the summer time because of school break; but a small part of me believes that crowds won't be as bad this summer per say because of those who are going to hold off to be there for when Galaxies Edge opens at WDW or will maybe even go to Disneyland instead.

I'd love to know what you guys think and any suggestions with planning for the summer time would be greatly appreciated.

I voted no. There are too many special events and new attractions coming in the next two-three years. I just don't think there are that many people postponing vacations to be there when something new is supposed to go online.

Disney must think people will be holding off until Galaxies Edge is open based on them offering a bounce back offer of free dining for next summer (dates are around end of June through end of August). But then again that might drive crowds up! Guess it's a toss up.

They've been offering the summer bounce back free dining for a couple years now. Summer crowds are markedly down from several years ago. October/Nov crowds have grown in proportion to the summer crowds declining.

We went this past June and hoped it would be slow because people would wait for Toy Story Land to open. But Disney pulled a fast one and opened the month of June to the seasonal pass holders. They are usually blocked from going in June. It was crowded.
