June 2014 Rental Car Deal Watch Thread

OK - finally got an awesome rate - Dollar - Standard sized 6/26-7/7 - 12 days total rate under $200!!!!
Start at Carrentals.com - I think thrifty had good rates too. :) Hope someone else gets a great deal!

You did very well, just plugged in your dates and lowest I saw was $333 for a compact.

I tried my dates and the only thing lower than what I already have from National was with Nu, which I've never heard of and they're not at the airport. I'm hoping to stick with National so I can choose from the Emerald Aisle, but if I find a significantly lower price from someone else, I'll take it.

I just booked through National yesterday using the KLM code for a standard car from 6/7 - 6/15 for $250 total (tax and ins included).

Just booked a full size car in Tampa at Thrifty June 8-20 $244 taxes and fees.:woohoo: No codes or coupons

Booked a 9 day rental (June 17th-25th) through National.
KLM code and BJ's member coupon for one-car-class upgrade NU376ZDW.
$273.06

I think that is a decent starting point - but will be stalking it for the next 4 months....:surfweb:

Take a look Dollar rates are as low as $7.70 per day. Just saw it a few minutes ago.

Vans are $24 a day

Its not in the specials section it was a regular rate and I think the good rate is now gone because someone else tried and got a higher rate :(

We'll be at WDW June 15-23. I booked today with National, using the KLM code and a $25 discount from the Entertainment book. The total price was $289.33 for a midsize or better (we'll choose from the Emerald Aisle), which I didn't think was a bad price for 9 days, especially since it includes insurance. I'll keep checking back between now and June, and I'm sure I'll find a better rate. You wouldn't believe how many times I booked and cancelled rental cars for our Hawaii trip last year! It pays to keep checking!

I put in the same codes as before and got it down to $278.87 for my 9 days in a midsize. I'll keep looking til we leave but at least it's coming down!

Is the KLM code available to anyone to use? Will I have to show anything at the counter? Using that code brings my midsize suv down from over $500 to $283 for June 18-25. I will be paying it off with points from my cc when we get back and every little bit helps.

The KLM code is supposed to be used by members of Flying Blue, which is through Air France. Go to the Air France website, then click on Flying Blue, and you can join for free. I don't think I would chance booking with the code without actually joining, in case they did ask for your membership number when you go to get your car.

Anyone coming up with any good prices? Thanks!:goodvibes

Although, you can get the best rates typically closer to your travel date, that is not always the case. I recommend consistently checking rates and reserving them now when you get a good deal that way if rates do not go down you already have a good deal reserved. If you find a better deal later then just cancel your reservation.

Also, I purchase the Entertainment book and then use the rental codes from the book. They are the best deals I have found.

Good luck and keep checking.

Make sure you go through Ebates to get to the rental car website to book. Looks like you get 2.5% cash back for most major companies. It's not a lot, but every little bit helps. I don't know if Ebates ever has rental car companies as their daily doubles, but I'm going to try to remember to check the website often.
Does anyone know of any other cash back programs besides Ebates that would be worth joining?

Subbing.

We're looking for a Full-Size or small SUV for the 4 of us. So far the cheapest I've found is $266 using the National KLM code.

I just booked a minivan through Ebates and Orbitz and then Budget from June 6th through June 12th for $250.82 total!
I also just rebooked using code W852873 and got it down to $220.68. Granted, this is only good for the first 1050 miles. But we don't plan to drive that much.
