June 2008 ADR Wanted/Trade/Exchange/Cancelled

Looking for the following ADR's. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

O'Hana's between 4:40-6 on June 14th or 17th
Whispering Canyon between 4:30-6 On Jule 17th
Crystal Palace lunch or dinner on the 18th
Tusker House breakfast on June 15th

It's worth a try! If I can get something on the 17th I can trade a Flying Fish at 5:35.

6 at 1900 Park Fair around 7:40 - 8:10 could trade 9 at chef mickeys at 7
or 5 at Chef Mickeys around 6:45-7:10 and I could trade 8 at 1900 park faire

I could also trade 7 for breakfast at Ohana's on June 27th at 8:15

June 10 - Garden Grill at Epcot for lunch or dinner.

If anyone would like to trade I have Ohana breakfast at 7:30 on June 11 and Hollywood and Vine Breakfast around 8:30 on June 12. I would prefer to trade the H&V ADRs. TIA!!!

We switched because it was an indulgence we didn't need right now. We really wanted to do it and could afford it, but we have some other things we decided to do with that money instead and doing the Deluxe rather than regular was not going to result in alot of extra enjoyment for our vacation relative to the increased cost. We typically do not eat appetizers or desert (much less 6 between us), so that does not add to the value to us. Plus, to make the numbers work to make the plan make sense for the places we eat at we had to have 3 TS meals per day for most days and that just seemed like too much food for us. Then I would be too full to eat my 2 snacks a day for anything other than water. So I cut back to the regular DDP, and now the kids will have more time to spend in the pool, which is what they really want to do anyways.

I don't want to be wedded to having to maximize the plan. With that said, and given the way we would typically eat, the DXDDP didn't make sense.

Truthfully, with the reservations that I kept (mostly character meals) I wouldn't even have kept the DDP at all except that the June holiday pricing makes it so that we actually save money on the DDP versus OOP. We still have more TS meals than the regular plan allows. I'll just pay OOP for the least expensive ones (Beaches and Cream, etc.)

I think that the DXDDP can be very good for some people. It just depends on what you individually would do and be happy with. For me, despite wanting it to work, it just wasn't enough bang for the buck while still allowing us to eat at the places that we enjoy the most. Having my ideal meals resulted in very neglible savings while locking us into that commitment.



On a side note --- I cancelled the elusive CRT breakfast because I figured that my boys couldn't possibly care less, and it will be something special that my little princess (who's only 1) can do someday that will be new for us that none of us have done before.

Thanks for the well thought out answer. I wanted to cancel the DxDDP because of the cost of our entire trip, I was freaking out and trying to cut out what we didn't need. But like I said, I didn't do it and I probably won't.

We will try the DXDDP this time and then we can compare which plan works for us. Staying at the YC and not being park commandos, I figured that we would use the credits at Beaches n Creme and the Captains Galley for their buffet b-fast. Have fun

I'd love a lunch-time at Sci Fi on June 17th. Would also take 50's PTC. I currently have a 2:55 at Sci Fi, but we really need our afternoon break! =)

A dinner would also work...

I'll be canceling a 1900 Park Fare breakfast on June 11th for a party of 4 at 10:40 am if anyone is interested. I am still desperately trying for dinner that same night at 1900 Park Fare. It is my daughter's 8th birthday and I have been trying for months to get in! I will keep trying until the last minute and even walk up and beg at the podium if I have to. Wish me luck!
