We didn't go to a lot of the activities on the ship. I went to Bingo twice (and was quite lucky), went to a couple of shopping talks. We took the galley tour and went the the DVC get together. I saw Disney Dreams (loved it), and we went to the show the kids put on Friday at 5 (our tablemate was in it). It was very cute. We also had the couple massage (tasting) which was wonderful. DH wanted them to roll the table out by the quiet pool and pour him into a lounge chair.

There was a DIS meet at the Promenade Lounge Saturday after late dinner. DoomBuggieDriver and her DH were the first ones there. We also met WRH3MD, his DW Debbie H, and their son BuddyWRH and daughter LinnyLye. sweetpea3470 was there, as was Mai Ku Tiki. There were other DISers there as well, at least two more couples, but my memory just isn't holding up.

DoomBuggieDriver and her DH were at the next table over from us at Palo brunch on Thursday. It made it an even more enjoyable experience.

We kept running into people we met on the bus to the port, Mark and Cindy from the floor at the terminal (waiting to get in), Wes and Debbie and family, our tablemates from dinner, etc. It felt very much like a community.

We did most of our packing before late dinner Friday night, since we knew we wouldn't have much time afterwards. We put our luggage out, and ended up spending the final evening on our verandah.

Breakfast and debarkation went very smoothly Saturday morning. We left Lumiere's around 8:50, and by 9:10 we had collected our luggage, gone through customs and immigration, had our luggage stowed on a bus to the airport and were sitting in the bus, waiting for it to fill up (and watching Pluto cartoons).

The community doesn't end though. We ran into our tablemates at the airport and killed some time chatting with them. At the Southwest gate, we ran into the mother and three daughters who had been on the southbound flight with us. They had been at WDW for a dance competition, and were on their way home. We had another nice conversation waiting in the A line for boarding.

Highlights

The cold Mango soup at Parrot Cay.

A cold drink on deck 10 as we pulled away from Port Canaveral. I've always hated that "king of the world" line from Titanic, but I could almost agree with it then.

Evenings and mornings on our verandah - especially when we saw the dolphins.

Sea days.

Having drinks with Wes (WRH3MD) and Debbie (Debbie H) by the adult pool after late dinner on the first sea night. I think that's as good as it gets.

Decks 9 and 10, especially in the evenings and early in the week. Later in the week we got the feeling we were interfering with the activities of the teenagers up there.

Palo

Gemma at Palo.

Stollen with jam, whipped cream, and berries as prepared by Gemma at Palo.

Castaway Cay - particularly Serenity Bay. Can we have two days here and give up Key West?

Just being at sea. I think I could give up all the amenities, and live all week on peanut butter and jelly (if I really had to), just to be at sea.

I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but we had a wonderful time. Rebooked for the 9/10/05 western. Anybody else on there?

Kathy

Glad you had fun. Wish our DD Gemma did a bit more cooking when she is home! Seems her culinary skills have improved 100% since working in Palo! Glad she gave you good service. Best wishes. Nat:Pinkbounc

Ummm, the stollen with strawberry jam and whipped cream. Man, that was good. I'm drooling as I type.

I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet (or did we? We were at the DVC get together, as well. Perhaps we got a chance to say hi to each other.)

LOL...we probably did, but the lounge singer tended to limit conversation to a certain degree. DW (DVC Kathy) and I were sitting with our backs to the bar, in the middle, next to DoomBuggyDriver.

Randy- were you and your wife sitting next to Wes and Debbie at the meet? Darn that loud lounge singer! If so, we saw you and you wife all over the place having a great time.

No, we were at the DVC meeting, not the Dis meet (which is where I assume the lounge singer was). The only noisy people were the sales guys giving away DVC stuff (we got a mousepad and coozy).

Again, sorry we missed each other!

Ah, reading skills need improvement! You did say DVC not DIS. We were at the DVC meet, in the middle of the room, but had to leave early in order to get to our Spa appointments. Tough life, eh?

We were in the middle of the room at one of the tables.
