June 19, 2004, anyone yet???

Hey Rose, good luck with the ressie. I made ours a couple months ago. Rememeber, gas prices or not, it's summer and the place fills up quickly. I just wish you could make surial and Palo reservations that early. We may be there the same night.

This trip we may actually leave at 4 AM on 6-17 and make the trip in one day as we have in the past. (14-15 hours driving) since my dw isn't making me see patients in the morning that day. That means we will need to make an extra day in Orlando, though. If we stick to our original plan we will be bunking at the Hampton on 6-17 and press on to an ovenight stay at Old Key West Friday. THEN OFF TO THE MAGIC SATURDAY:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc   ::yes:: ::yes:: !!!!. The anticipation is killing me. I'm on call for surgery 17 out of the next 24 nights. Why do I do this to myself?:earseek:

TTYL, wes:wave2:

Hi everyone!

We drive too, from central PA ,but we do it all in one day!! Talk about nuts! Leave around 3:00 am and get to Cocoa beach around 6:00 pm. Kids sleep for the first 4 or 5 hours, then DD starts whining about the drive (she's 18!) and DS starts playing video games for the next ten hours!!

The worst part of the drive seems to be North and South Carolina!

Hope you all get your docs soon!

Looks like a hot day here in PA...might hit 90...I think it's cooler in WDW!!!

Aloha!:wave2:

We must be slowpokes!

we leave 4am-ish from central jersey and are only in Savannah area by 6pm-ish!

BTW...how long from Savannah area to Port Canaveral? DH & DS (18) will never forgive me if I make them leave our Savannah hotel BEFORE the free breakfast!!!!!

WES...I thought we teachers had it bad with end-of-the-year madness:crazy: YOU will REALLY need a break:earseek:

CANNOT WAIT!!!!!

~Rose~

Rose, it takes about six hours to get to Port Canaveral from the HI in Savannah. Interestingly, it is almost exactly the same amount of time to get to WDW from Savannah. Done it many times. It takes a little under an hour to get from WDW to the terminal on the Greenway and Bee line from OKW, assuming no significant traffic delays.

We like to get into the terminal at DCL by ten, get checked in and wait in the line so we can get on right away. We dash off to lunch and then go get in line for surial and Palos. This year ds and dd will both be 18 so I am going to make ressies for all four of us at Palos.

For all you newbies: once on the ship they will hit you up for soft drink and beer packages. If you plan on drinking a lot of soda the soft drink package is a deal. If you like beer it's OK but I've never gotten it. Then they will hit you up for the wine packages. They are a bit pricey but if you like wine you will enjoy it with meals. What you don't drink off the package you get to take home when you leave the ship. And if you do not finish the wine they will cork it for you and bring it to you the next meal. Palo and surial bath ressies fill up quick. So do many of the spa treatments, massages, etc. So dispatch a responsible adult to set those up. A coordinated effort will pay dividends. Ordering a bottle of champange for the room when you arrive is a nice touch. It makes the mandatory safety drill more tolerable.:drinking1
Sign up for the Internet Cafe so you can stay in touch with your favorite ball team but no rush for this.
The best place we've found for the shove off is forward overlooking the bridge but that's a matter of personal preference.
More later, cheers, Wes:wave2:

Yeah! Found out today that my Mom's TA called her yesterday. He got the docs :thewave: and he'll be FedEx-ing them to us tomorrow. Four weeks from now we'll be cruising. I can't wait!!!

Aliwas -- I sent you a PM :teeth:

:hyper: Thanks Wes for the link to the Magic.:hyper: I can't wait to be there. This will be our first cruise. The time seems to be going fast. I just hope it doesn't fly by and be over too soon.:bounce: :Pinkbounc I find myself checking out these boards about three times a day now.

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Judy:hyper: :hyper:

I never did say how looong I was on each time:hyper: My oldest son is convinced I'm obsessed with this cruise!!:sunny:

Judy

Judy, don't feel bad. I definitely am obsessed and spend more time on this board when I should be working. :teeth:

Thanks Wes for the link. The port looks the same as when we were there on the Voyager last year except this year it will definitely be more MAGIC-ical!!

My brother got his docs via FedEx today so I'm hoping they'll arrive at my Mom's this afternoon.

Obsession? What obsession?:earseek: In November, 2002 Deb and I took a western on the Magic and had a thread going. The week before the cruise we had over 500 replys. Now THAT'S obsessing. Cheers, Wes

I called Debbie last night to book our Spa and Palo reservations and she is just wonderful. I did mention that she has quite a reputation on the Dis boards. She says she just loves how organized we all are. I booked brunch at 10:30 on Monday followed by massage at 2:15 and Palo's for dinner on Tues., she was also able to give me APLAPLA rotation. She also mentioned that she was trying to get herself on our cruise but she wouldn't know for sure until 6/1. I mentioned our planned dis meet to her in case she was able to join us. Still haven't received our docs yet, hopefully soon! 14 More Days of School!!!
Are you we there yet???

Denise

Aloha!
